When we arrived there was building work being completed in the main entrance of the building, which we were not informed about in advance, as the property management company told us we should have been. The noise rattled through the apartment all day long making it very difficult to relax. Also, the apartment is in very close proximity to a park which houses a peacock and roosters - they wake up and start making noise around 3am, so we were up all night every night due to the intensity of the sound.
When we arrived there was some damage in the property, which we highlighted as soon as we noticed (within hours of arriving). The damage had been covered up by a welcome basket upon checkin so it was not easy for us to spot. The property manager later blamed us for the damage somebody else caused and covered up. Even though we had picture proof which was time stamped as soon as we entered the property, the owners still took our entire deposit, which was a significant amount of money. We were informed by the owners that they would pay for the damage during our stay, but later they went back on their word. We believe we were set up to pay for this damage which we did not cause. We left the apartment in prestige condition and have very high standards. We tried to be amicable and supportive, offering to cover half of the cost even though we didn’t cause the damage, but with little to no response and no understanding.
The property manager who checked us in was very rude and gave conflicting information, proving they were lying, but they still charged us.
I would never use this landlord / property manager ever again. After such a stressful situation we have been left feeling cheated, taken advantage of, unsupported an complete undervalued
