We drove thru the Mt. Hood area, on our 1st wedding anniversary, after purchasing our home, in Portland, and on our way to work a season in Yellowstone National Park, serving, and bartending, back then. We stumbled upon the Zigzag Inn, and had lunch there. It's a log structure built by William Lenz. We admired the structure, and it's historical flair. It reminded us of our whim to one day own a log cabin, in the woods, as we stayed in Yellowstone, we planned on looking for property, in-between there, and home, and low and behold, the best options laid instore for us. As we lined up work at Timberline Lodge, before departing, we looked at properties on Mt. Hood, soon after our arrival to work. We drove neighborhoods, concentrated on preparations, and found this little gem, built by Henry Steiner, and family, prolific log home builders in the 20's, and 30's in the area, and the same folks that built Timberline Lodge!
