What a wonderful vacation we had! Location is awesome: The privacy and quiet suited our needs perfectly! Close enough to Puerto Morales for shopping and dining. Kitchen was well stocked and allowed us to be as comfortable as possible. Communication with Christina was great, very responsive!

Amazing and Relaxing Stay

This piece of property on the beach lived up to its listing. From the amenities on site, to the beautiful beach, the helpfulness of staff and manager on site, and all of the additional options (recommend the chef Beto, Lulu's massage service, and the shuttle service). This was by far one of the most relaxed vacation getaways for our family. Thank you so much and we look forward to returning to Casa Chanty!

We stayed 2/28/24 for 7 nights...and had the most amazing time! We, along with other family, rented both the upstairs and downstairs apartments, along with the 1 bedroom cottage behind the property manager. This allowed us to have the pool deck and dining area all to ourselves. Personally, I can't imagine doing it any other way. The pool is small, but it was all we needed. We didn't have much interaction with the property manager but Damien did a great job keeping the inside and outside clean. We arranged for Chef Beto to do all of our grocery shopping ahead of time, as well as cook most of our meals. We hosted a dinner for 24 ppl one evening and Chef and his helper did a great job! His prices are very reasonable and everything tasted amazing! The Shrimp tacos and coconut french toast were definite favorites! I highly recommend using Chef Beto! Overall, everything was great and we would definitely go back.

A Little Slice of Paradise

Our family was so pleased to arrive in the evening, walk into a nice house with a beautiful outdoor area overlooking the ocean. It was all we had hoped for! The sound of the ocean, beautiful outdoor lighting and creative tile work seemed magical! The caretakers Alberto, Sara & Damien made our stay pleasant with all of their help. The location was great and we felt very safe. We would love to stay here again!

Perfect location

This was a beautiful home we stayed in loved the privacy the views the location right in the middle between Cancun and Playa del Carmen we definitely made the right choice by picking this location we loved waking up to a beautiful view everyday the house was nicely kept and they did housekeeping whenever we asked the manager on-site was so friendly and helpful he made us feel very welcomed when we arrived and everything in between whatever we needed .Definitely recommend this place and we’re already planning to return soon we enjoyed it so much.Thank you for lending us your home.!

Brilliant gem out of the way

Almost seemed too good to be true to have such a lovely property that is this picturesque and RIGHT on the beachfront. Nitpicks: We stayed in the bottom floor "Sun Suite", so your mileage may vary in terms of the other guests on the top floor noise-wise. Another variable that might affect your stay is the 'Sargazo' or the seaweed that has increasingly been washed ashore, as it can go from almost none, to the shore and about half a mile in being utterly saturated with the seaweed; we were unable to go in the sea at all the day before our departure. The inside of the property is great in terms of furnishing and utilities, the only thing that would be a great to have is a dryer, as the humidity makes it very difficult to air dry laundry. Original point still stands, this property is a gem and very accessible price-wise. Other than that there are hardly any drawbacks! Staff was very friendly, and we overall enjoyed our stay.

Great location, run down house.

The location and beach we're wonderful (very windy area though). Damian was there to fix all the water leaks, washing machine etc., he was great. The house needs some love and decent furniture, real potential.

Heavenly Perfection!

This property was perfect for our entire family and visiting friends. The property and the grounds were just as described. The views, the pool, and the private beach were all spectacular. Everyone was so helpful and friendly - including the host, the cleaning staff, the chef, and the neighbors. The location is fabulous for solitude but close enough for any activity you may want. We cannot wait to go back!!

Paradise...

We planned this trip for our high school senior daughter's final spring break and were not disappointed. We had an amazing time. The bottom half of the house comfortably slept our party of seven and the house was clean and comfortable, temperature-wise, on our arrival. The kitchen was generally well-supplied and had most of what we needed to cook our meals. The ocean views were stunning and the pool and deck areas were safe and well-maintained. The location of the house is fairly convenient, a reasonable driving distance from the Tulum ruins, the cenotes, or downtown Playa del Carmen to shop or eat. However, the property was nice enough that we didn't want to leave that much. Also noteworthy was the arrangement the manager has with Beto, a local chef who will shop for, prepare and clean up meals for the entire family, for a very reasonable fee. He made us scratch margaritas, fish tacos, fresh guac, and all the authentic Mexican cuisine we wanted, all the while helping us with our Spanish and regaling us with stories of being chased by crocodiles as a boy. He was an unexpected highlight of the week, and we would highly recommend reserving him. Alberto, the property manager, is onsite at a nearby cottage/house, and his three very friendly and happy dogs greeted us every day and loved to be fussed over by our kids. He is available to assist with routine needs. In the interest of full candor, there are a couple of things of which renters should be aware... Firstly, we were very excited to paddle board and kayak, and the boats were in fact there and in fair condition. However, the location of the property means the constant wind and fairly significant waves make those activities, at least during the spring season when we were there, virtually impossible. So we ended up spending most of our time on the beach. Secondly, from time to time we noticed new and different people spending time on the property who, although friendly, candidly told us they weren't renters there. We had no idea who they were, or why they were there, and didn't really feel comfortable asking them to leave. There were no issues but it was a little strange, when we were under the impression the property would be accessible to us and the party renting the upstairs unit. Lastly, a few mattresses are in serious need of replacement. But this is nitpicking. We LOVED the place, found it a great value, and would recommend to any family venturing to Mexico!

Great private beach!

We stayed for a week with our kids in the 3 bedroom bottom floor apartment and the place was perfect! The apartment had everything we needed and was literally steps from the beach. We slept all week with the doors open and had the best sleep of our lives. The weather was perfect! Overall, we couldn't have been happier.

Nice apartment beach front!

Very nice and intimate place to relax and enjoy a great time with family or friends. The apartment is great and location by the beach is perfect. The only thing that made our stay a little less enjoyable is the guess in the Penthouse (the appartment above the Sun Suite). The house is not really insulate and up our apartment was a group of 10 or 12 peoples. They were very loud and noisy, very late at night and early in the morning (I'm wondering if they were sleeping). We could hear the chairs scratching the floor at 3 or 4 o'clock at night. So we did not sleep very well during our stay as we were always disturb during our sleep. Also, we had to go back to the store to buy dish clothes and face clothes as there was not in the apartment. On site, Alberto and the staff are very nice and friendly. Safe place to stay and easy to use public transport to go at Playa Del Carmen, Puerto Morelos or Tulum. Even if we had a great time after all, I give a 3.5 stars because we were expecting a more relaxing stay for the price we pay. We did not expect to be disturb by other unpleasant guest.

This is our second visit here, and a favorite vacation destination for us as a family.

The house is perfect - from the location right on the beach, to the provided amenities, to the friendly and helpful staff. We arrive with hand luggage and swimsuits, knowing everything else we need is provided for us. I’m already counting down to when we can next visit!

4th Time in Sun Suite... Fantastico!

I bring my 6 yr old son and my elderly mom to this Casa, and just got back from our 4th trip. As always, the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The owners are responsive to feedback and are wonderful to work with; they want the guests to have the perfect vacation. This is a special place. My son interacts with the locals and learns Spanish... this is a great experience for him, and he loves learning the language. My mom is content to sun bathe on the patio and the beach, which is very convenient for all of us. The guests who stay here sometimes congregate at the outdoor kitchen/palapa and share wine, food and experiences. I brought a local child and my son to the Croco Cun Zoo, just up the road. What fun! It's an interactive zoo, where we held crocs, lizards, snakes, parrots, and we fed turtles, deer and monkeys. Every time I come here, I always have experiences that cannot be found at hotels or resorts.

A House on the beach with a pool for the little ones..... AWESOME. This was my 3rd stay in Sun Suite, that says a lot for how special this place is. The house has beautiful views, lush landscape and the conveniences of home. The white sandy beach is incredible, the temperature of the sea changes depending on the time of year. The sea was warm and delightful. Sometimes seaweed will be in the sea, and on the beach, and that is mother nature. The seaweed on the beach is always cleaned up by the very nice and diligent workers. The location is convenient: between Playa Del Carmen, (where there is plenty of entertainment), and Puerto Morelos, which is a quiet town with every kind of restaurant that you desire. The house is in a safe community with a security guard entrance and 2 guard dogs. The property itself has the owner living on the premises (always a plus) and 2 adorable dogs that welcome you with kisses. If you are lucky, you will see turtles coming and going, depending on whether they are laying eggs in the sand or the turtles are hatching and racing for the water. This is a special place for creating memories... wedding on this beach, family reunion, friend get together, honeymoon. I have stayed in many vacation homes, this is one of my favorites! I want to amend a previous review that I completed regarding Sun Suite. The owners were very responsive to feedback and replaced kitchenware and upgraded some items, so now my rating is 5+ STARS (:

Beautiful Vacation Place

We have stayed at Casa Chantey 2X, as we love love love it! Our first stay was in Nov. 2017 and went back April, 2018. We love the outdoor patio where the view is unbeatable: pool, white soft sandy beach and the ocean. I can sit in the shade of our patio and keep an eye on the kids playing in the pool and in the sandy surroundings. The staff is friendly, helpful, and thorough in making the accommodations clean, Damian Rocks! We always rent a car, as we like to explore the quaint town of Puerto Morelos for dinner, and we drive to visit the near by Cenotes which are a MUST. Driving south to Playa Del Carmen is a bit of a chore only due to long waits in traffic. The Casa is very pleasant. The beds are comfortable, shower heads are great, and the A/C works well. I did not give 5 Stars due to 2 things: 1. All kitchen pans, plates, utensils, cups, glasses need to be replaced. I do not like to drink wine or margaritas out of scratched plastic cups. Teflon pans are scratched beyond use. Toaster oven heats but does not toast. 2. The footstep noise of the renters upstairs in the Penthouse is constant due to the wood floors. Noise machines and earplugs do not drown this out. We anticipated the above, on our 2nd visit, so we were not disappointed, just prepared. The Casa, location and safe community makes this a special place.

On a beautiful beach!

As advertised, ocean front, secluded beach, pool (very small), very quiet and peaceful place. Charming host and very helpful. Owner has two child-friendly dogs, which added to the pleasant experience. The house was well-equipped and comfortable. Enough space for 6 adults and 2 children. 10 minute drive to the nearest village (consider renting a car). We recommend Chef Daveed for catering. Great location, we highly recommend!

About as good of a location you can get!

I just returned from my second stay at the Casa Chanty Sun Suite, this time with my retired parents who had an amazing time. I am pleased once again with my experience. The pictures truly represent the product, the management and maintenance staff are extremely laid back and accommodating... and all just a stones throw from a nearly perfect private beach! I'll be returning for a third visit for sure!

Casa Chanty IS relaxtion @ it's best!

Alberto greeted us upon arrival and showed us around the Sun Suite. The Sun Suite is the jewel of this crown. Spacious, comfortable and everything you could ask for, but my favorite part of the suite is the expansive covered patio just outside the sliding glass doors. My family enjoyed 2 chef Gustavo prepared dinners out there along with several breakfasts and lunches. We moved to lounge chairs from the beach to the patio and often when needing a break from the sun would relax there in yhe shade, still able to enjoy that awesome view. I highly recommend Chef Daveed Placencia company. I set up the dinners for our second and last night and it was incredible. Defiantly worth the $250 for all food, cooking, clean up, serving and professionalism of Gustavo (not to mention the great left overs all week). My family of 4 explored Xel ha and explore parks (WOW). Both are definite does, you will not be disappointed. Explore is a ton of walking so be prepared for that, and I wouldn't take any kids under 7/8 like I said tons of walking and steps to reach zip lines. Traveled to Wal-Mart twice this trip and it was like going to Wal-Mart at home so no need for hesitation. We felt safe while at Casa Chanty and everyone we talked with enjoyed their stay in the other villas. Cristina was super easy and friendly when booking and answered all my questions with no problem. We have always wanted to rent a house in Mexico, but we're always hesitant and worried. That was so beyond stupid. Do not be like us book this place and you will not be disappointed. I know we aren't! Almost forgot Wally and Nikrita (spelling) the two resident dogs. They greeted us each day with a wagging tail and would often cone Lou he with us on the beach and patio. It made Casa Chanty feel even more like home having them around. There is no doubt we will be back, now I just have to talk my wife into how soon. I'd prefer next week, but work beckons. Enjoy Casa Chanty and the area. Enjoy Alberto, Damien (staff), Sally and Nikrita, Enjoy the gorgeous beach and 5 shades of blue water. Needless to say Casa Chanty fulfilled every wish on our list of family vacation and it is my hope with this review that you will take a chance and book it. Trust me your family will thank you for it. Every member of our 4 person family gave it 5 stars and that includes 2 teenagers, so that's saying something.

Fantastic quite sandy beachfront location

The Sun Suite was exactly as described. We were a party of 9. Two families with 5 young kids and very spacious. The house was very clean and we never saw any bugs. The beach and pool were perfect. The ocean is sandy. Just a few houses down the ocean is very rocky. The waves are BIG and caution should be used for little ones. The adults kiteboarded right off the beach (you should be an experienced kiteboarder here) Alberto, who lives on site was great! My only recommendation is to replace the utensils, plates and such. They are WAY overdue. Lots of plastic that has been microwaved way to much and melted from stove cooking. Cristina was great to work with arranging our stay. It's quite and safe and we will stay there again!

Best Family Vacation!!

My husband and I with our five children (ages 5-18) planned a Cancun vacation a year ago. We originally reserved two rooms at an all inclusive resort however we really wanted a private house to keep us all together. I ran across this rental in a very last minute attempt to change our lodging. The pictures do not do this rental justice!! The view is amazing and the owners are wonderful! We had several activities planned however after a couple of days lounging around the pool and beach we did not want to leave the property! Upon arrival the food order I had placed was not available, however we were able to have a pizza delivered. Because the owner felt terrible for the lost grocery order he brought over coffee and cookies to hold us over until we taxied into town for groceries. We had breakfast along 5th street in Playa, then spent some time shopping before we walked to Walmart for groceries. We arranged for the same taxi driver to meet us at walmart to drive us back to the rental. This was a very easy task even having a young adult, two teens and two small children. On another day we decided to ride the colectivo (public transportation). The walk to the highway (where you catch the van) is a bit much for littlies and we were prepared to have to carry our two littles. To our surprise a gardener in his pick up truck offered us a ride to the highway! We jumped into the back and laughed so much because this was a first for all of our children! You stand on the side of the highway in the direction you want to travel. We had to get to the other side to go into PDC. We were able to get across fairly easy by putting the littlies on the backs of dad and big brother. The cost was 45 pesos for all 7 of us! I did a lot of reading beforehand to understand the process. Renting a car would have been an easier way to go but this was such an adventure for my family and the kids all enjoyed every minute of it. The rental is equipped with everything you need to enjoy your stay. We brought along a couple family games and ejoyed the beach toys available for use onsite. My husband and I were able to lay out while our older kids snorkled and our littlies splashed in the pool. On our last night we were fortunate enough to have the owners host a dinner for us and the upstairs guests! We all sat around the outdoor table eating, drinking, talking and enjoying the sounds of the ocean. Pure bliss!! We can not wait to go back!!!!
