Great location but property needs work
I’ll start off by saying the location of the property was great and the views from the house were spectacular. We really enjoyed the outdoor space, swimming and floating dock. Unfortunately, the house itself is older and was not properly cleaned before our stay. I vacuumed thoroughly after I arrived as my allergies were really acting up and found lots of dirt and pet hair under couch and furniture and even an old dirty sock. The bathroom downstairs is very musty and had a mildew smell. The outdoor trash cans were full when we arrived and the trash cans were covered in maggots by the time the trash came the following weekend. The property itself has lots of stairs so it is not great for small children or people with mobility issues. The stairs leading from the parking area down to the house were treacherous and the railing is broken. The stairs going to the second and third floors are very steep and narrow. Down by the water, there was no beach (as shown in the picture) due to the water level and the two granite bottom stairs going into the water were very slippery as they were covered in algae. The kitchen was very small (can only fit one person at a time) and not great for cooking. We only had four people staying at the house so sharing one full bathroom was not an issue for us. The third floor is basically a finished attic so I was thankful we didn’t need to use that area. Also, just a note, the property listing indicates there is a dishwasher but there is not.
