This was our first time in New York and we wanted to experience the city as well as life for ordinary working people. Staying in Brooklyn, and particularly in this property, provided us with an insight into suburban life as well as easy access to Manhattan via nearby transport links, within walking distance. As a family of four, we did find it better to user Uber though. There are conveniently located local shops and restaurants which offer a wide variety of international groceries and cuisine. We even found a halal meat shop nearby! Visiting the very hectic and busy Manhattan attractions, it was a wonderful peaceful haven to return to, to recover and recharge for the next day! The house felt more like a home from home. It is a period property, tastefully decorated, reflecting the character of the Ballantine family. The house is well equipped with good quality utensils and equipment, making our stay as comfortable as it could possibly be. It was very hot during our stay and the air conditioning was just perfect. The shower in the main bathroom is very good, so much so that our children also decided to use it. We also very much enjoyed the charming garden. the host Rebecca was very welcoming and generous. Our only slight niggle was the mattresses were a little too soft, but this may not be an issue for most other people. this did not spoil our stay, it must be said. Overall, I would rate this property highly.
