As a Colorado native, it’s important for me to get out of the city and into the fresh air. I enjoy taking my fiancé (who’s not a native) around different areas for weekend relaxing and adventures. High plains of South Park is one of my favorite destinations. We love sleepy and quiet and this area is just perfect. We were a bit early for the leaves, but this perfect cabin home is set in an entire aspen grove. The pictures don’t do it justice! Besides the land being incredible, the home itself is this artsy dream - so unique in design, and complimented perfectly with antiques and beautiful artistic touches. I love every room - the bathroom is perfect, great hot shower and cute window out to the trees. The primary bedroom was where we stayed and had one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. I really didn’t want to get out of it. :) kitchen was stocked and well fit for us to cook in, with a sweeping view to boot. Windows surrounding and doors around the upper deck made it wonderful for us to drink our coffee and enjoy the peacefulness. Doug and his wife Liz are wonderful hosts, and I’m grateful they shared their home! They give loads of information prior to arrival for folks who’ve not been to South Park and fairplay. Really helpful and great communicator! We love it! My only feedback would be- someone with a camper truck using the power and water from the cabin parked very close by with a dog - just would be nice to be mentioned as startled me in daylight. :) no issue
