Great experience

Thanks for removing air freshener! The good and the bad are the distance from town. Some of the quietest nights I’ve had in years. It rained most of the time so we played games. Never turned the tv on. Comfortable.

DEFINITELY A GREAT STAY ❣️

This is a very beautiful piece of God's green earth. My husband and I had a wonderful time together. We felt like we were still home enjoying the open flame outdoor cooking. This is the kind of place we'd love to enjoy every vacation. I would definitely suggest this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and quiet getaway.

Booking and check in were easy. Property owner was very quick to return text messages Fireplace was phenomenal. Wish i could have a place like this of my own, but until i do, i will be back.

Peaceful. Cozy. Prayerful

A great little cabin. Comfy and cozy and wonderfully quiet. The fireplace is great and the woodpile was stacked. Sofa is super soft and the stay was restorative. I'll book again for sure. As with most true cabins, the water has a slightly eggy smell, but they had plenty of bottled water present (I brought my Berkey all the same). I recommend it if you're looking for a peaceful place to retreat and revive. Turn off is a sharp turn onto a gravel driveway.

Beware

For a hunter/camper, probably fine. Pictures misrepresent the site. We left to find other lodging before staying the first night. Fragrance from three plug-in air fresheners gave my wife a severe headache and even leaving door open on a cold, rainy night couldn't get rid of the smell. Uneven floors and poor lighting made tripping hazards. Contact person wasn't available for a question about the TV APPS, which I understand at after10pm, but details should have been provided in the instructions. Furnishings and lighting seem to be cast-offs from other places and there is no consistent decor. View from porch is your parked vehicle and another building. I fault VRBO for not properly vetting this property accurately for future potential users and really feel ripped off in having to pay for 3 nights we didn't stay because of the misrepresentation. I'd have to seriously consider not using VRBO again.

Wonderful getaway weekend

Even more than we expected!

My adult son and I were looking for a rustic cabin and area to spend a couple of dad-son days. The location was private and perfect. The cabin was rustic but well-stocked with all the modern amenities. The beds were comfortable and the refrigerator was stocked with water, mini pizzas and breakfast wraps.There was plenty of firewood for 2 nice fires. We went to old Bedford Village which was nice and saw an interesting firearms presentation with weapons of the day with presenters in full costume. It was everything we expected and more!

Stay for the simple pleasures!

We were very happy with our stay- overall, it was a simple but very nice little cabin. Was grateful for the wifi and tv access when we did feel like connecting with the outside world. The cabin was close to Bedford which was fun to explore and hike around as well. We were grateful as well for the bottles of water provided, and the cleanliness of the place overall. There was firewood provided, but we did end up needing to buy additional wood from the store because the wood provided was too wet to really stay lit in the fireplace. Also, it was quite chilly when we visited and we wished that we had had 2 space heaters provided, as opposed to just the 1. Still, we were able to stay perfectly warm and cozy in the living area thanks to space heater and fire place.

Fantastic Weekend Getaway

I loved the rusticness of the property. The fireplace was amazing and loved there was firewood stocked and ready to go. Thank you. The location was fantastic, close enough to town that you didn't have to drive a ton to get needed supplies but far enough away to be so peaceful and quite.

Quaint rural cottage getaway

We had a lovely weekend getaway at this rural cabin. The cabin itself is a bit old, but it is kept clean. The two bedrooms are separated by the bathroom and kitchen so there is some privacy. The kitchen had what we needed, but I brought a portable grill and cooked outside. We enjoyed time sitting around the fire ring as well. One thing of note, the water does smell and taste a little off. If you're not from the area and aren't used to that, it could be a put off. The owner did have a case of bottled water already loaded in the refrigerator which was appreciated. The owners house is viewable at a short distance, so the cabin isn't completely secluded. But the orientation of the cabin is such that when you're on the porch or using the fire ring, you do have privacy. Overall it was a very nice stay and well worth the price.

Perfect Getaway

This was just what we needed to step away from the stress for a few days and get some fresh air. Not luxury accommodations, but has all the basics you need and lots of charm. Be sure to clean up after yourself meticulously, lest you get some woodland visitors! The surrounding location is absolutely beautiful - mountains and farmland abound.

Awesome getaway

Very cozy, comfortable beds, lots of kitchen pots and pans to cook with. Everything that needed to be clean was clean. Location is beautiful. Had a great stay - would definitely return.

If you’re interested in a quiet setting no traffic, and even an increased chance of seeing wildlife, this is it. Nestled on the outskirts of farmland, between ridges. You may catch a glimpse of an eagle, bear, porcupines, fishers, fox, deer, bobcats, and coyotes.
