We had plenty of room to spread out, both inside and outside on its many deck areas. We spent mornings at the beach and afternoons at the pool. Our 41/2 year old grandson learned to swim underwater in the pool! We enjoyed biking around town and to see the wild horses, as well as a few ping pong tournaments. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed the wagon for hauling 4 grands under 5 to the beach.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great time staying at this home, even with Hurricane Debby looming over us all week. The house is well-maintained and fully equipped. We especially loved the spacious dining area and well-appointed kitchen. The living room was also very comfortable, with plenty of space for everyone to watch TV together. Outside, there are lots of sunny spots to relax, including a large pool area with numerous lounge chairs, though some of them could use replacing soon.A couple of tips for future vacationers: The two ice makers in the refrigerator couldn’t keep up with our needs, so we ended up buying ice from the store. If you plan to use the outdoor grill, be sure to check the propane and turn on the large tank a day or more in advance, so you have time to get it serviced if necessary. We also used the charcoal grill as a backup.We did encounter a few issues, like ants in the kitchen by the stove and sink, which we reported to the realtor, but it wasn’t resolved during our stay. Additionally, one of the shower curtains had some mold, so you might want to bring a cleaner with bleach just in case. On the plus side, other issues we reported were promptly fixed during our visit.The house is conveniently close to the beach, just a short walk or bike ride up the sandy road. The beach access involves a walk up a sand path to a wooden deck and steps over the dune. The beach itself is lovely, though there’s a slight drop-off. Despite the minor inconveniences, we would definitely stay here again.

It was tucked away and felt very secluded. It was like going on a camping trip as well as a beach vacation all in one. The property was great and the pool the largest we have experience in the outer banks over the 27 years we have been coming. The house has so many areas to enjoy and our grandchildren had a great time utilizing all of them.The property is in great shape and we enjoyed the added benefit of early check in and the linens and towels being provided and the beds made. It was like getting an extra day. We had excellent customer service. We only had one issue and it was resolved quickly.We are hoping to rent this property next year and would highly recommend this property to family and friends.We really enjoyed the wild horse safari which began just a little south of the property's location. For the most part we were either at the beach or the pool.

We have been coming for the past 20 years. We were excited for this year’s trip as it was to celebrate my mom’s 80th birthday. First impression from the outside was that it looked more dated than the pictures. Unfortunately that contined inside as well coupled with the fact the house was not cleaned very well. There were sand on the floor especially in the corners and the rugs throughout the house. Several bedspreads had visible stains. We had to wash them ourselves. In addition, the mosquito screen in the screened-in porch had rips/holes in several areas allowing mosquitoes to get in. We could not enjoy this section of the house. The freezer did not get very cold. Ice took a long time to freeze and ice cream never got frozen. The AC in the first floor bedroom stopped working on the last 2 nights. We did enjoy the pool area. We liked jthat location is more private and houses are more spread out. This was the most private we’ve had in OBX. The grill was included and was very nice. Really appreciated we didn’t have to rent a grill. The house is spacious and was plenty of room for us. Having Jack and Jill bathrooms were convenient for the 4 bedrooms in the second floor. We made the most of our week. But for the price we paid we were not expecting the house overall and furnitures to look so dated and showing signs of wear.

Filthy!!!

This is the dirtiest place we have stayed at. We rented from Beach Realty. Here’s a list of things wrong: 1. Very bad mold smell in house. 2. Jacuzzi tub was selling point for us, wasn’t usable. 3. Refrigerators and freezers dirty. 4. Ice makers didn’t work. Called the office the day we got there (Saturday). Girl had an attitude. They came Tuesday to fix it and didn’t start getting ice from it the day before we left (the following Saturday). 5. Screened in porch filthy. There was dirt on the floor so it wasn’t cleaned before we came. Screens falling out. Spider webs with eggs in it. 6. Outside couches by hot tub dirty and moldy. Couldn’t sit there. 7. Couldn’t hang out in rec room. Unbearable smell, air hockey table busted seemed they tried to fix it with duct tape. 8. Black mold on shower curtains in master bathroom and one of the lower floor bathrooms. 9. BBQ grills disgusting. Never been cleaned so we did do any grilling. 10. Couldn’t do laundry because washing machine only put out hot water. 11. Walk way to pool was full of overgrown weeds. Unfortunately I checked Beach Realty’s reviews after we stayed there and they received a lot of bad reviews. Beach Realty seem to have this standard comment “ you should let them know of these problems within twenty four hours.” We spend thousands of dollars on these rentals and there shouldn’t be any problems. Not to mention all the complaints are the same. They don’t seem to care about their houses or the people paying for it. Seems like they are in it for the money and dont care about anything else. NEVER AGAIN!

The house itself needs a lot of maintenance & thorough cleaning both inside & out. We called about mold/mildew in the showers & we’re told that someone would be over to address. Nobody showed up our entire stay. We have rented several houses in the OBX & this was the first time we were disappointed.

We arrived early and I texted the realty company as per their directions and did not go to the unit as per their directions. The lack of communication by the Realty company was unacceptable. We did not enter the unit until after 6PM again unacceptable. The unit was dated but clean. Updates to refrigerators would be nice. Takes quite a while to get hot water when showering or using kitchen sink. Faucet handle on kitchen sink fell off the first time we used it. We repaired it ourselves being it was just a loose set screw. Pool area was nice. Grill was not cleaned by previous guests.

The house accommodated our family perfectly. We had a newlywed couple from Michigan in the basement, 3 couples on the 2nd floor with grandsons in the bunk room, grandparents in the master, and granddaughters on the top floor. Everyone had space and the dining table was adequate for all of us. The pool was clean and very much enjoyed although a deer carcass in the woods behind the pool caused a bad smell until we discovered where it was and called maintenance to remove it. It was a bit disappointing not to have a view of sunrise or sunset as advertised. The setting among the woods was unique for a beach house and did offer seclusion. We had a wonderful week together with many activities to choose from.

The rest of the house was also very dirty. There were croutons on the kitchen floor (not from us), scum around the master bath, and the rest of the house needed a thorough cleaning as well. This was a family vacation with our four sons and their families. Although we had a good time, I was very embarrassed when someone brought up the dirtiness of the house.We were happy with the number of decks, beds and the swimming pool and hot tub, but we all agreed that next year we will need a property with at least 6 1/2 to 7 bathrooms.Another disconcerting event is that when my two daughters-in-law plus their children were in the pool area, the pool man entered the pool gate unannounced. He just went to the shed and left. He didn’t check the water or clean the pool, which at that time was full of bugs and leaves.For the amount we paid for this rental, I fully expect to receive some sort of reimbursement. We would use your agency again but not if our complaints are ignored.

Unsanitary home, not clean

We arrived to our property after being sent a message that the home was ready for us to check into. Upon arrival, the home had not been cleaned after the previous group who had occupied the residence. Beds still had dirty sheets, used towels were left in a pile, kitchen was dirty, bath tubs were not cleaned and trash was everywhere. We notified management and they sent over one individual to clean the whole property. She did the best she could but she did not vacuum, mop, clean bath tubs, clean kitchen table, sanitize any surfaces. She changed sheets, gave us new towels and picked up trash. We notified management of this and they said they would send someone over the next day (no one came to clean the house the next day). One shower curtain had black mold on the bottom. We were very sad and upset that we paid such a large sum for an un-cleaned and and un-sanitary home. It made the whole trip pretty miserable when we were in thr property. With covid still happening, it was even worse to know our home was not sanitized or even cleaned. We were home during the cleaning process because it was past 6pm and witnessed the whole cleaning process. We have asked for a partial refund and have been ignored by management. Do not stay here.

Kickoff to summer

House was in a great location. Location to beach was perfect and pool and hot tub a plus. While house was dated, it has every modern amenity. Love that is was Sunday to Sunday rental.

We love Carolla!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I have mixed feelings with this rental. I don't know if we were just unlucky to rent after people who were terrible, or if the maintenance is lacking. The home was clean and beautiful, but a lot of broken items. Broken hot tub cover, microwave (the other microwave handle was broken), one of the televisions, a wooden chair,and the Jacuzzi bathtub. The worst was that all the outside garbage cans were overflowing so we couldn't use them for 3 days. Also the raccoons made a huge mess. I would like to give the house another try, but I don't think I'll be able to talk my family into it. The rental people were all very nice and did help solve as many problems as they could. The location of this home is absolutely wonderful, and it fits so many people comfortably.
