Very quiet location. Just a few blocks to the main commercial strip in Davis. Easy drive to ski resorts and Blackwater Falls state park.
Kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, toaster, blender, microwave, knives, etc. Bring your own peeler and veggie brush though. They also provide a Keurig machine with pods (I didn't try any though).
Charcoal grill is available. There was fresh charcoal available but just a little bit of lighter fluid left which we used up the first night.
The house is actually a duplex; one apartment each side. We could barely hear the family next door. Parking is available on the street without restrictions.
Plenty of towels and washcloths available. Very strong water pressure and water can be very hot if you aren't careful.
Cleanliness of kitchen was good but the wall to wall rugs could use a deep clean so bring your house shoes. Bedroom bureaus were dusty on top and should probably be replaced due to poor condition.
It's usually 5-10 degrees cooler in Davis than the DC area with less humidity so A/C isn't needed at night most of the time. That said, a heat wave came through when we were there and it was uncomfortably hot. Fans are provided but the window screens have multiple holes so mosquitoes and moths got in.
It was a nice stay but a little overpriced once you factor in all of the add on fees and compare this place against competitors. We decided on the trip last minute so didn't have many options since everything was booked for the holiday week. It was nice being able to cook our own meals and not stay in a hotel. I'd stay here again but would see if I could find better value for money elsewhere first.
Owner communication was good; responsive and very nice.
