Great location for a relaxing girls' trip

Beautiful location overlooking the ocean, with stunning sunsets every evening. Comfortable beds, nice kitchenette and living room. Large covered lanai was a great place to hang out, even if it was raining. The hosts were great, even left us a "welcome" goodie (yum!).

Amazing stay!

Beautiful home, away from the hustle, cool mornings and evenings with amazing sunsets! This home was perfect for us! Coffee for days, hot bubbly baths, nature sounds, birds and frogs! Clean, comfortable and Lori was free to work with!

Peaceful Retreat

Our stay at Kona Palisades was a very relaxing experience. The appartment was very comfortable and the views from the lanai were stunning. Our host Lori was welcoming and helpful while giving us total privacy. I fully recommend this property.

A wonderful quiet escape

We loved having a place big enough for all of us. The area is peaceful and being higher up the mountain meant it was cool even on summer days. Lori is a fantastic host. If we come back to Kona, we would stay here again.

A lovely place ❤️

Lori's place was private and well appointed. There was fresh papaya bread available on check in as well as oatmeal in the cupboards and a well stocked kitchen for cooking! Everything was clean and welcoming. Very nice patio and great location just up the hill where it's cooler.

Delightful apartment in Kona

The apartment is large, very comfortable with lots of details (beach equipment, lots of towels, appliances, etc). Lori, our host, was very welcoming and accomodating. The apartment is located in a residential community with a nice ocean view and is 10 minutes from the airport, about 15 minutes from Kona town. We had a lovely stay!

Great Host. Great Property.

Lori is a fantastic host. Great communication and so welcoming. The house is immaculate and perfectly appointed. I loved my mornings on the lanai waking up with the sun - and birds. The house is at the perfect place between Kona and the Kohala coast beaches. It is our second time renting from Lori and we hope there will be a third.

Beautiful Sunsets

My two sisters and I spent four nights at this property. We had a wonderful time. Lots of room, great hills for me to walk, beautiful sunsets, we barbequed most nights, wonderful little local store with great pizza, and more!! Loved the neighborhood and the birds sang to us every night.

Great home base

Stayed with older teenager, close to a variety of beaches and a short drive to town for supplies The unit came with everything you need to hit the beach. Lori was an excellent host, even ensuring a first great morning with supplies after a late night flight arrival. We loved to use the lanai for grilling and socializing in the evening.

I would love to come again! View from the lanai was even better than photos, everything was in perfect condition. Very clean. The owner was very friendly and helpful and provided great tips for beaches and restaurants. Great surroundings, peaceful neighbourhood, only minutes from the best beaches and stores. Can definitly recommend!

Wonderful Stay in Kona

We had a lovely stay and appreciated both the spacious apartment, beautiful lanai and view along with. Lori's gracious hosting. The apartment was well stocked with all that we needed for beach outings and we were greeted with delicious home made papaya bread. When I left a few items at the house, Lori made sure that I got them back. Mahalo!

Beautiful home, perfect location

The home is beautiful, and perfectly located high on the hill. The sunset views are gorgeous, and the hammock on the property got a lot of use. The kitchenette is perfect for preparing breakfast and simple meals to enjoy on the very large lanai. Coqui frogs will serenade you at night, and free roaming chickens visit throughout the morning hours. There are plenty of towels and beach chairs to borrow for adventures.

Beautiful

The property was clean & cozy. Lori & Amanda were very helpful since this was our first trip to Hawaii. There were fresh baked brownies in the fridge for myself, my husband & our adult son when we got there. They had suggestions for everything from grocery stores for me to get my dairy free food items to what each beach is best for and restaurants. The lanai and yard with the hammock had perfect views of the ocean & sunsets. We loved it & would stay here again

Beautiful and comfortable

Thank you for a wonderful stay for our 2 1/2 weeks on the Big Island. The bed and whole Ohana was so comfortable. Everything was as pictured. The Lanai is expansive and a peaceful place to unwind over dinner and a glass of wine and sunset. We appreciate your hospitality and nice beach gear (Tommy Bahama chairs, beach umbrella, boogey boards, and cooler). Mahalo!

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful stay at Lori and Amanda’s ohana. We arrived to fresh banana bread and a welcome note. Apartment is nicely located for easy access to all parts of island. Nice quiet neighborhood with roosters and cocqui frogs serenading you! Great communication from host. Apartment has everything you need and more. There was even a Christmas tree for the holidays! We loved sitting on the lanai enjoying the breeze. We would certainly come again. Highly recommend!

Nice!!!

The condo was clean, neat, and well stocked with necessary utensils. we were met by the owners daughter, who was very nice and polite. The location was pretty close to necessary needs and activities. You do need a car to get around, but be prepared to pay excessive parking fees for visits to downtown Kailua unless you go very early. the area was fun to be active by the ocean and a lovely island. I would highly recommend this condo for small groups, especially for a quiet stay.

Quiet Neighborhood, Incredibly clean and Great Location!

We spent our entire two week stay at this newly built property and thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet of this little bottom apartment with an amazing view (at the time of our stay it was only Lori living in the upstairs and this made for a VERY quiet stay). The location is ideal being close to shopping and the nicest beaches on the island (hint: they are not in Kona proper). The coolness of the mountain elevation made it comfortable and the sunsets were amazing. The apartment was extremely clean and well furnished with a wet bar area that provided all we needed to make meals. Lori was always available with helpful information to navigate the island and get to the best beaches. We will be planning our next visit to the Big Island with a repeat stay here for sure!

I retired to the Big Island after almost 24 years working as a Foreign Service Officer, assigned to various Embassies and Consulates overseas. I love to travel and I enjoy meeting new people and learning about new cultures. I feel a strong connection to the ocean, I love beaches, swimming with sea turtles, snorkeling, sailing...Hawaii is the perfect place for all water sports! I volunteer at the Marine Mammal Center (Ke Kai Ola) in Kailua-Kona where I am part of the response and rescue team protecting the endangered Hawaiian Monk Seal. I am also a practicing glass artist with a small home glass studio. I enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle and feel extremely fortunate to have made Hawaii my home.

I chose this house because it offers the best of indoor-outdoor living. The large lanai nearly doubles the living space and I love the beautiful ocean views. It is also at the perfect elevation for gorgeous sunsets and for catching the trade winds. With a clear night sky, and very little surrounding ambient light, the stargazing from my property is amazing. I've known for many years that I wanted to retire to Hawaii, so finding this home and starting a new life on the Big Island has been a dream come true. I'm looking forward to sharing my little paradise with you!
