This is a wonderful place to stay with a family. The host thought of everything as far as things to do at the house. Nice kitchen, nice sunroom!, nice floor plan and lakeside living at its best!!!

Another great stay

My family and I had a great time at this cottage. Right on the water, fully equipped kitchen, close to city for shopping, and an incredibly responsive host. Our second year here and we will be back!

Weekend get together

My friends and I stayed at this cottage for the weekend. House is very well equipped with a fully stocked kitchen. Large rooms, hot tub, fire pit, BBQ, watercraft and plenty of room. We had a great time here and would definitely would come back and stay here again if needed.

All we could ask for

Wonderful property on the water and close to the city for any items we forgot. Barry is very quick to respond to any communication. This was our third year at the property and we thoroughly enjoyed our time (as usual)

Fabulous location on the lake and close to GTA!

This property accommodated our group with large bedrooms and open common areas. There were lots of activities for us to enjoy both indoors and outdoors. Our group ranged in age from 5-94 years old and everyone had a great time. Barry communicated with us to be sure we were having a good time. We were! Each of us got what we needed from the weekend- fresh air and exercise, relaxation and fun times together. I definitely recommend this beautiful lakefront property!

Great host and beautiful property!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Barry reached out a week before the booking to ensure I was clear on what to expect. He was very responsive to any questions I had. When I arrived at the property, it was just as nice as the pictures. It was very spacious, clean, and had a great view of the lake. We enjoyed taking the kayaks out and sitting around the fire. The firewood was even provided. I couldn't have asked for more. Thanks for a great, relaxing weekend away!

Fabulous Family Vacation at the Lake

We are already missing our cottage on the lake and we just arrived home yesterday! Great cottage, amazing lake-front property and everything you could possibly want is provided. The host was exceptional in responding and ensuring that we had what was needed. My family consists of five adults and five children (aged 2 to 10). We played, swam, canoed, kayaked, ate, drank, coloured, crafted and enjoyed every minute we had together. We would highly recommend this property to other large families/groups wanting great time together. We hope to plan a return visit very soon. Marlene

Fantastic Autumn Vacation!

Sitting by the gorgeous fire pit by the shore, orange glowing moon on the horizon, and waves crashing was one of the many ways we enjoyed our Fall Family Vacation this October!👍🏼🍂🍁 This house is wonderful, with cable, Netflix (Halloween horror month)wifi and all the bells and whistles you want on a vacation and more!(hot tub, table tennis and playing pool were all enjoyed!) Kitchen was top notch! So much space and everything you need to cook fantastic meals which we certainly did! Ample supplies, luxurious bedding, lots of towels for indoors and out! All so good! My favourite spot was sitting in the cabana all bundled up, day or night, perfect for reading, meditating, napping or just taking it all in and feeling grateful😘 🙏🏼 Thanks Barry and Shelly for the opportunity! A Wonderful Place!

My dog and I just returned from Barry’s property and we had a great stay! Barry was a wonderful host; he was readily available whenever I had any questions. Whether you’re on your own or with others, in terms of amenities, I think this cottage has everything needed to make one’s stay both comfortable and enjoyable. I don’t know that the owner has overlooked much to ensure that you have whatever you might want or need. Although my stay took place during the winter, I still enjoyed the beautiful views of Lake Simcoe, the property, and the surrounding area, which is lovely. It certainly wasn’t hard for me to envision how great the property must be to stay at during the summer months! Thank you very much again, Barry!

Great Weekend getaway!

We had a great time at Barry's cottage! Our group consisted of five adults, two 6/7 year olds, and two toddlers. Everyone had a great time. The kids enjoyed the sunroom with all of the toys, which was very convenient when the adults were cooking or socializing in the kitchen. The yard was very spacious and clean. The kids and dog were all able to run around freely. We needed to wash down the chairs around the firepit, as they were quite dirty. Two of the adults attempted to use the peddle boat, but the steering didn't work, and water was coming in from one of the peddles. The hot tub was a hit with the two older kids, although we had to wipe down the inner sides, which was covered in some sort of goop. The cottage itself was very clean inside, and was packed with everything you could possibly need. All in all it was a great trip, and we would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a nice quiet getaway.

Wonderful Weekend Retreat!

I must say the pictures do not do justice. This cottage is just beautiful! There were 8 adults and a dog and we were all very comfortable. I just love the open concept and you can be in the kitchen and still be able to interact with others in the family room or even out on the deck. Not only was the cottage spacious, but had everything and more than we needed. Everything was fully stocked and we had no issues with anything. It was so cozy and warm, really felt like home! Surrounding the cottage is large green spaces (where my pup had the time of his life running around in) and can not forget the dock that leads directly to the lake. There were so many outdoor options, kayaks, canoes, a hot tub, sun beds! If it wasn't so cozy inside we probably would have spent a lot more time outside. Overall this is a warm and cozy cottage and will has everything you need to really have a great vacation. It's about a 10 minute drive to town (where you will find everything) and more lake views, but honestly we just wanted to spend as much time at the cottage. Barry, the host was always available for any questions and we really appreciate all the love and thought that went into this lovely vacation rental.

Beautiful cottage and property, but seems a little run down

Very nice cottage and property with lots of potential, but property maintenance seems to be lacking compared to older reviews I've read.Upon arrival parking in driveway, there was a bunch of loose garbage, as well as compost scattered around on the ground around the green bin. The gardens were all overgrown and full of weeds.The hot tub stopped working many times. The dishwasher leaked. The fireplace in the cottage wouldn't ignite. The outdoor canopy beds were really dirty. The dryer sounds like it is about fall apart. The internet wouldn't work and kept dropping out after a minute.Looked under the couch for a kids toy that fell and it was very dirty underneath.I expected a little more attention to detailat this pricepoint.A higher level of maintenance on these easy items would be well worth it for the owner. We all had a good stay, but it would have been better with the issues above sorted out.

The most perfect family cottage you could ask for!

My family and I have rented out a few cottages in Ontario over the years but never really experienced a WOW factor at any of them, so we never felt compelled to return. That is until we visited Barry's cottage! After staying here a couple nights I really can't think of a more perfect place for any type of family reunion or vacation. The cottage itself was beautiful, luxurious, modern, and even bigger than expected from the pictures. We're sticklers for cleanliness, and would easily give this cottage a 10/10. The beds and sheets were all incredibly comfortable, there were tons of entertainment options for both the kids and adults (board games, pool table, sports gear, fire pit, fishing off the dock (caught a couple of nice small mouth bass), ping pong, hot tub, and much more! Barry provided far more amenities than we were used to seeing at other cottages. We'll be sure to pack lighter next time :). A big thanks to Barry for responding so promptly to the questions we had both before and during the stay. You really made this a vacation we won't soon forget and my family and I truly appreciate all your help! Can't wait to come back!

Great location. House needing updating.

Wonderful time with family in a lovely location. Manager answered any questions promptly. Some difficulties we had: outside garbage container full. Surface cleaning okay but house needs a thorough deep clean (in corners, under beds, kitchen, dishes in cupboards). Dishwasher very difficult to start and instruction non-existent). Bathrooms need updating. Front steps icy with no railings and inconsistent depths. No de-icer available. Someone needs to edit the kitchen utensils and small appliances. (E.g., blender pieces did not seem to fit together). Lots of equipment available but is was all over the place. Living room was cozy and we loved the big kitchen table so we could all hang out together.

Lovely Property !

Our family enjoyed spending time at Barry and Shelley's cottage immensely with great amenities for everyone. We stayed for 3 weeks there , everything was comfortable with a couple hickups (which is inevitable when it's not your own). cottage space Pictures online appear to be larger than reality but it's enough for our family of 5 giving everyone their own space when needed. Our Hosts made every attempt to rectify minor issues and were very accommodating throughout. We recommend anyone considering time away from the city at this beautiful spot.

Good Cottage with a few Drawbacks

Overall this was a good cottage. It had lots of space, a great kitchen, and comfortable beds. Drawbacks included limited closet space and not enough patio seating and outdated patio furniture on the deck. However all of this would have been okay except that after we booked we discovered a $3000 drop in price for a week, and were not offered any sort of refund. That left a bad taste in my mouth. Other than that it was good. Oh also, very rocky water and too shallow to jump into.
