We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay as a couple for one week in June at Budderoo. The views from the living room windows and deck areas are stunning. We felt immersed in nature and at peace in this little part of paradise as soon as we arrived.
The house with its large living area would be also suitable for families with young children or teenagers, with plenty of space to relax, play around, on (or under), the large day beds inside, or out on the decks or the garden area outside. There is also reading material and a well stocked cupboard of board games for young and old.
There is a well equipped kitchen for easy meal preparation (no microwave) and quality crockery and seating for an intimate meal or large family gathering around the dining table in front of the open fire, which we enjoyed. Plenty of fire wood, gas heating and reverse cycle air conditioning created a warm environment for our midwinter stay.
Comfortable new bedding ensured a good night's sleep and there is a cosy lounge with TV where you can snuggle up with a book, watch TV or enjoy the DVDs provided after a busy day exploring the local area.
The bathroom and toilet are a little rustic, but plenty of hot water, soft towels, toiletries and heat lamps compensated for this. There is also the outdoor bath and shower to experience for those who stay in warmer weather.
We were the first paying guests to stay since the property has been taken on by Kangaroo Valley Getaways. The property managers Adam and Alyssa were very approachable and helpful in following up any queries and issues that arose during our stay. They are planning further improvements to the house to make it an even better experience for those staying in the future.
The road to the property, whilst quite narrow, is suitable for low clearance vehicles. We recommend to drive carefully and watch out for other vehicles and wildlife as we had a very close encounter with a wombat with little road sense one night when driving into KV for dinner.
Surprisingly my Optus service worked well, but my partner's Telstra service was patchy. But who needs technology when escaping from the world...
