My vacation stay

The unit needs cosmetic upgrades. The unit smelled musty every time we came back in from the outside. Very clean and well equiped with all needs for the kitchen and bathrooms. Great location. I will consider staying again in the future.

unit listings

Location was good, very easy to find, close to things.Listing was a bit misleading. unit needed some updates.Bathroom fan in hall bath was very loud. Unit was listed as having cable TV. It had Streaming TV, very misleading. Could only get a few current TV shows, no live sports without paying for the service. Listing should be corrected. Photos of the unit makes it appear larger than it actually is. Overall, our stay was good but would probably not return to this property.

Would not recommend

We had no a/c the first night of our stay, the property PM told us to turn the unit off, and that should help (assuming it was frozen), but that did not help and there was part of the unit that had to be fixed; which did not happen until the next day. The unit is VERY worn down and needs major updating. We love the area, but would NOT recommend this unit to rent.

Condo needs TLC

The condo needs updating and attention. Black mold in the kitchen air vent. Peeling paint in bathroom. Carpet is very worn and dirty. The AC needs updating and we were constantly emptying the dehumidifier in the dining room. The condo in general needs major upgrades. The location is good and the view was ok. Nice beach access. The property management company was very good and their communication was excellent. Although we spent most of our time outside, we expected a nicer condo for the price point we paid. This was our first sub-par experience through VRBO.

Beach Vacation

Enjoyed the area and property. Great access to beach. Great water pressure and air conditioning.. Would recommend and stay at Sand Dollar again. Would prefer another unit, though.

Great View and Relaxing Atmosphere

Wonderful view from the master and the living areas. Overall very clean. I did see reviews of dirty carpet and yes, there are stains but you expect that in an older unit. If you want pristine, go to the Ritz down the road. My family enjoyed our time here very much. Pool was extremely relaxing and not overcrowded as was the beach. Outside is where we spend most of our time in Amelia Island and it never disappoints! I would definitely rent this unit again.

Perfect for our needs

We selected a beach condo that had a balcony view and was close to the beach. This condo fit our needs exactly. Our trip was mainly to lay on the beach and soak up the sun. I would like to be honest, that although this fit our needs It is an older condo, so if are looking for more modern condo this may not be for you. Had a lovely stay on Amelia Island.

It was okay

We had a good time don’t get me wrong but the cleanliness of this rental was horrible. Dirty dishes in the cabinets. The cabinets spelled like mildew so we just kept our dishes in the dishwasher. The property was also advertised incorrectly. THIS IS A NON SMOKING PROPERTY which we were not told until we got in trouble. A family two doors down told on us for smoking even though in our handbook says we can smoke on the balcony. Then he told on us again for a vape but we listened. If we had know as smokers we wouldn’t have rented here but it’s not told anywhere. There wasn’t much hot water either. I stayed here last year and it was perfect this year was not as much. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Close to the beach

Unit was in need of many cosmetic repairs. The complex had remodel going on in another unit the entire time we were there and he started very early in the morning with tile saw. Drains were all clogged. Unit just needed to be updated and carpet cleaned. Felt dirty.

Not as advertised. Not worth the rent. Old,, outdated in need of repair, dirty, wet bedroom carpet!

Would Never stay here again! We we so disappointed and dissatisfied we left a day early!

Great Place To Stay

The location was good. It's a short drive to places to eat and see. The property itself was good but needed to have repairs done to the parking area ceiling. The condo itself also needed some work. In the first bedroom the popcorn ceiling is peeling down, the drains are really slow in the main bathroom (we did not report the slow drain), found dirty silverware in the drawers and the ceiling in the master bath is cracking where it looks like there was some repair work done at one time. The pool area was clean but like the ceilings in the condo, the pool walls are peeling and needs to be resurfaced. Would I stay here again, yes but I would like to see the repairs done first.

Sand Dollar Weekend

We loved the condo. We had everything we needed. The balcony view and beach access was wonderful!! The pictures on VRBO did not do it justice. Nice uncrowded beach.
