We've stayed here a number of times. There's always at least a little bit of cat hair, so be prepared for that. But, the house is well located to get around the area easily, including to the beach. The host is super responsive to any issues. One complaint is that it would be nice to have at least a little bit of laundry detergent in a short term rental - not practical to buy detergent for a 3 day stay. For the ease of it all and the reliability, this will be our spot to stay on future visits.

The house was very comfortable, ans felt like a home away from home. We really loved the fact that each bedroom had it's own bathroom. The location was perfect and the proxomity to the beach was top tier!!

This is a great place to stay for a beach vacation! The house is conveniently located between Garden City and Surfside Beach and is only a block from the ocean. The house is spacious and perfectly laid out. We enjoyed our family time here!

Wonderful house

The property was so lovely and the owner had amazing communication even at midnight when we couldn’t get in. The location was wonderful, the house was just perfect with rooms and decor. I would recommend this house to everyone!

Great stay at Mystic Mermaid

Our family loved our weekend getaway at this house! It’s incredibly spacious and very kid friendly! Not just for our big kids, but our baby too. They offered a high chair and a pack n play. Only a 2 minute walk to the beach and very close to all the beach restaurants and pier. We will definitely be coming back!

Quick weekend

The house was very comfortable for our family. Each bedroom had its own bathroom and that was a plus. It’s a very short walk to beach access. Wish we could have stayed longer than a couple of days. We will need to come back!

Mystical Mermaid

This is a great beach house! It is very spacious and the layout was perfect for our family with each bedroom having its own bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped and both the kitchen and dining area are a good size. The location is great, only a block from the ocean! Our family was completely satisfied with our stay here! I definitely recommend staying at “A Mystical Mermaid”!

Keeping it Simple

Came down for a golf trip with 6 buddies! Property had everything we needed! Enough space to sit and relax both indoors and outdoors, and had enough beds for each of us. Close proximity to the beach was not crucial to our stay but was a nice bonus after a hot day of golf! We did not need many bells and whistles, as this place kept everything perfectly simple for our stay.

House close to the beach

The house is located at the prime location about 5 min walk to the beach. We enjoyed the stay. We didn’t think it was was cleaned properly and it was sandy as soon as we started using it. A few things looked like it needed to be replaced and updated. The property manager is a nice lady. She was helpful.

Hose as described 1 block to the beach. Disappointed house not clean dead bugs in rooms cushions in kitchen chair disgustingly stained. Refrigerator had food crumbs still inside.

2nd time staying here

Let me start with the good. The owner is great and super responsive and communicative. The location is super close to the beach, making it easy to pop back-and-forth as needed for lunch or a break or if you forgot something. Also makes it easy to take a nice after dinner walk along the water. The layout of the house with 4 bedrooms all with their own full bath is great too and makes it easy. All that being said... the place is a bit "weathered" - stains on couch cushions, layer of discolored dirtiness on kitchen chairs, pet-chewed furniture legs. And, I was reminded this stay that this is definitely a "pet friendly" rental with lots of wiry black dog hairs in the corners and along the baseboards. But, it's still a good house for a good price in a good location.

Just got done spending 5 days at this lovely home on my bachelor golf stag. Had a total of 10 guys and we had a blast. The rooms were nice and they each had a bathroom which was clutch (4 total). We used the beach stuff and the grill, hung out on the front patio a bunch, watched movies, played poker....all in a nice comfortable space. Joe was super nice and was very helpful. Our only thing worth mentioning is that there are only enough beds for 9 guys (f.y.i. - two guys will not share doubles). They do have two twin air mattresses so we made it work. All in all.....awesome place!

Great Spot

Really like the location and access to the beach and quick drive to the piers. The 4 bedrooms were plenty big and the beds all comfy. A private bathroom for each room was a plus. Overall layout was good with the central living area and the space had a nice beach-house feel to it without being cheesy or cheap. There were two toasters which was great for cranking out breakfasts in the morning! My only "complaints" (which are admittedly minor) are that there was no soap for the dishwasher and none for the washing machine. Maybe I'm spoiled but I've come to expect at least a little of those to get you started in these types of rentals. Again a minor thing, but the beach-oriented rentals I've stayed in before provided some kind of beach gear - towels, chairs, etc - but this place had none of that. Flying in (not driving) definitely limits what we can bring with us (or bring home if we buy it locally). Fortunately, we had family nearby to borrow from, but otherwise we would have had nothing, which would have been a bummer.

A Beachy Retreat

We loved staying at the Mystical Mermaid! We were within a short walking distance of the beach, making it easy to go out for an early morning walk or come back for lunch. The house was spacious, offering each of us a private bed and bath. The kitchen was well equipped so we had the option of cooking our meals there or going out to enjoy the dining at Murrells Inlet. The home was just what we were looking for this summer.
