A Beautiful Gem

We loved our stay in this beautifully restored home right in the heart of Christchurch. It was comfortable in every way. And Simone was great to work with and full of valuable and interesting information that she shared about the community and the restoration of her home. I highly recommend this property. Beautiful villa

The villa was immaculate, beautifully presented, lovely fluffy towels, nice sheets and beds. Super clean. The owner lives behind the house.

A Lovely Home Centrally Located in Christchurch

We stayed here for 9 days and it was perfect. The house was totally restored after the earthquake, and it shows. Very modern inside but preserving the classic look outside. There are three bedrooms with three new queen beds, and two bathrooms, both with showers. There is excellent off street parking (and even charging for electric cars). A full kitchen at the centre of the house, and a large TV. Immaculately clean. It is a 15-minute walk to Cathedral square and 2 minutes to Pomeroy's, a nice pub with good food. Also very close (5 min?) to the Avon river walk. The real highlight, though, is the owners, who live adjacent but very much respect privacy. We learned so much about the city from Simone. We'd go back in a heartbeat.

Christchurch heaven

Was the best place we stayed in our 3 weeks in NZ. 3br, 2 bath perfect for our family of 5. Simone was an excellent and informative host. The kitchen was so thoughtfully appointed with all the little extras that are so helpful when traveling. It was a super spot!!

Amazing home

This house has such history and has been beautifully restored. The blend of modern comforts and historical charm all within walking distance of the citiy's sights is truly unique .Simone is very responsive and offers great sightseeing recommendations. We loved our stay here.

Simone & Joe have lived in their central city home, next door to 250 Kilmore for 20 years. They enjoy welcoming guests & ensuring they are comfortable. Simone & Joe can help you access local activities & events & help is on hand if needed.

Simone received a Community Service Award from the Christchurch City Council for her volunteer work in the local community, including the development of local park, Chesterfields, 100 metres away.

Joe, originally from Scotland, is a keen golfer and enjoys playing at Hagley Golf Club, located 2 kilometres away in Hagley Park where he is Club President.

Simone & Joe have two teenagers living at home joined by their fluffy cat, Mittens, and loveable black lab, Jesse.

Originally built in 1887, this new home rebuilt in 2022 is a replica and rare intact example of the inner city colonial era. Of particular cultural significance is the bull nose veranda and cast iron lacework.

Offering the charm of yesteryear with modern comforts including central heating/cooling, modern European appliances in a fully equipped kitchen, underfloor tile heating in both bathrooms.
