The property was wonderful for a family stay for a family wedding. We had 6 adults and 2 children under the age of 2 staying here. Richard, the Property owner, was truly fabulous and accomodating. We would definately stay there again!

This beachfront home was perfect for our family gathering-- clean, comfortable and well-appointed with expansive views from nearly every room. The location was ideal - just across a quiet main road from Fenwood beach, which is family friendly with picnic areas and barbecues. We enjoyed the spacious lawn for games, plenty of parking and proximity to town, The well-equipped kitchen and ample seating made dining at home a pleasure.Richard was extremely responsive, and everything was perfectly set up and explained for a smooth and enjoyable stay.

Old Saybrook LI Sound review

The check-in process was very easy. The property was not very clean. The carpets were full of dog hair. It needs a major update. There was too much of aunt Mary’s stuff in the property. The view was amazing and the location was amazing.

Property was well stocked with everything needed for 10 family. Window AC’s kept the entire house cool during the hot days and nights. Enough room for all ages. We really enjoyed our stay!

Wonderful property by the ocean in quiet & scenic Old Saybrook. Enough room for our family of 14 to be comfortable & enjoy the spaciousness. Loved access to beach across the street where you can grill a meal & picnic.Owners were very friendly & accessible.

An Idyllic New England Weekend with All the Right Vibes

Our group soaked in everything this charming coastal home has to offer. We strolled to the beach in the morning and enjoyed dinner on the patio, and watched both sunrises and sunsets in between. Set among classic New England coastal homes, this home has a relaxed, lived-in feel that makes you instantly comfortable—like you’ve arrived somewhere familiar.

Great place for our reunion gathering

The house is lovely, well equipped and with plenty of room for everyone. We were an all-adult group of friends, but the space would work equally well for families with kids or multiple generations. During our stay the weather was less than ideal (so we didn't fully take advantage of the outdoor areas and beach), but we enjoyed just hanging out and cooking meals, playing games, etc., while taking in the expansive views.

Classic Home on the water

Overall, it was a great long weekend. The house gives off 'beach house' vibes while incorporating classic furniture. The kitchen is huge and well equipped. The view says it all. The bathrooms and bedrooms were very clean. Issues were minor - such as lights not working. Grills were offered but were in terrible condition. The charcoal grill was rusty and flaking, let alone not being cleaned out.The grills shoud also be moved to the deck side of the house for the summer season so you don't have to grill on the back driveway. The bench and some of the chairs in kitchen and outside need to be replaced or repaired. Shade in kitchen does not work.The yard needs some serious attention. We sat out on deck and enjoyed the weather but when you look at all the other properties you can see this one needs work. The neighborhood is delightful and safe. We enjoyed going over to the beach and some of our family took advantge of the local golf course.We had a great weekend.

Perfect Getaway

Rented this beautiful home for a family getaway. The home is absolutely stunning and housed all 8 of us perfectly! The location was also perfect with nice walks on the nearby beaches and walking path. And I can not say enough about the host Richard. He was so accommodating and even let us reschedule due to a snow storm! Highly recommend this lovely home and sure hope to make this an annual getaway. enough about the host Richard. and

Gals weekend

Charming home, close enough to the water you can hear the waves. Plenty of room for a big group of friends. We had a very relaxing weekend. The owner was easy to communicate with. I would definitely recommend this home, the location is perfect for a vacation.

Perfect for our family

We had a family event nearby and siblings flew in from all over the country. This was large enough where we could all stay and enjoy each others company. The living room was large and had an amazing view. The kitchen was plenty large.

Great Beach View and Location

Place was very clean, spacious and true to description. Wellstocked kitchen and room to spread. Loved view from living room window!! Not far from Center of Town and several good restaurants!

Nice water views

Well,the owner was very friendly and informative,when I spoke to him.The house was right across the street from the sound. I just want to say 2 things,first off,the living room definitely needed curtains or shades or both .The kitchen needed to be stocked for sure!If you are going to cook,bring your own seasonings!But,the sunsets are amazing!!!

Girls Weekend

We chose this beautiful waterfront property for our girls weekend and it did not disappoint. The space is beautiful and spacious with plenty of beds and bathrooms for our group. The ammenities were plenty and easily accessible. Will definitely look into renting this home again.

Family Gathering

Very nice location, wonderful water views, and a comfortable place for a 3 generation group. Grandparent, children and grandkids all enjoyed the home. Plenty of room for getting together and for privacy too. Everything worked for us.

Annual stay

Have stayed at this property multiple times at this time of year for an annual event nearby. Property is constantly being updated and the location overlooking Long Island Sound is as good as it get. Looking forward to next year.

Multi-generation holiday away

This was the perfect house and location for a Thanksgiving getaway with three generations of family, including three people in their 80s. Plenty of space and sleeping options, parking was easy, the views were spectacular, and location had lots of walking and exploring options. The kitchen was fully stocked. Check in and checkout were very easy and the communication with the owner was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely return!

This was a repeat stay at this beautiful home by the sea. Love the size, convenience, location and vibe of this home! Plus the host is super responsive and so easy to work with. I would 100% recommend this property, especially for a larger group.

Terrific for a relaxing getaway!

The photos that accompany the listing are indeed accurate, but they can't quite adequately convey how bright and serene an environment this house provides -- inside and out. Old Saybrook is a delightful town, and the house is also within easy proximity of, e.g., Mystic, which we like to visit. But we spent less time out and about than anticipated because we were enjoying this house and the Long Island Sound beach so much. The large, well equipped kitchen was a special treat for family members who live in NYC apartments with dinky kitchens. Beds were comfy; hot water did not run out before everyone could shower. Last, but not least, Richard is a terrific host: responsive, informative, and genuinely hospitable! Unlike the exasperating host of last year's rental (who turned out to be an agent for a property management company, not the house owner). In sum, Richard offers a wonderfully comfortable place for low-key fun and happy memory-making with friends or family, We look forward to returning!

The Photos Look Nothing Like Reality

The furnishing are older and look like they were picked up at garage sales. There is an electrical problem where many of the plugs don't work. The foliage around the home is not attended to and is a disgrace.

We have enjoyed many summers as well as holidays in this quiet and peaceful setting, relaxing to the sound of the waves breaking on the beach wall.
