Our stay at this home was a relaxing getaway! The house is spacious and updated, and we loved having the pool there. Everyone felt comfortable. The screened in porch was great option for meals. A short walk to the beach was a plus. I would highly recommend staying here!

Our rooms and beds were very comfortable. Communication with our host is spot on. Kitchen has everything you need. The pool is amazing. It’s so nice to come in from the beach, shower off then get in the pool. We love this house.

Overall we enjoyed our stay but I was a little disappointed that there really is no ocean view from the first level. You have to go to the second level which is difficult for me as I don’t do stairs well. I also believe one of the descriptions of the house was handicap friendly ( not sure of the exact wording) and while some things were, I would suggest handheld shower heads for the bathrooms-those are so beneficial when you have someone who needs assistance with bathing. Overall the house met our needs and exceeded some.

We appreciate your comments. Our house description does not state anywhere that we are handicap friendly. However, we did add the elevator several years ago and have successfully hosted handicapped guests. Also, the house description clearly states that the ocean view is only visible from the upstairs balcony. We will certainly take your suggestion about the handheld shower heads into consideration. (There is a handheld shower head in the outside shower which is large enough to accommodate a wheelchair.) We're sorry that you were disappointed in those aspects. Thanks for your review.

Our family had another amazing beach vacation at the Copeland House in Oak Island. There is no other place we would rather stay when visiting there. The home is exactly like it is pictured and described online. It is beautifully decorated and spacious. It is the perfect size for a family of ten! The kitchen has everything you would need and more. The pool, of course, is the favorite of everyone’s and the short walk to the ocean is a definite plus. Janet and Carson are always communicative and available if we have any questions. We are counting down the days to our 2027 visit. Thank you, Janet and Carson, for opening your home to us! We highly recommend it if you are visiting Oak Island!

Despite a cold winter and 8" of snow which melted in a few days, we really enjoyed our extended 5 week stay. The hosts were helpful and responsive, and the neighbors are friendly. I really appreciated the host's support to allow me to charge my EV from the outdoor receptacle. The house is very roomy, clean, and full of supplies and extras. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here in the future.

A wonderful time was had by all. The family said they felt they were in luxury accommodations because everything was so nice, clean and spacious. It is such a close walk to the beach but still felt like they were on a quiet street away from it all. Our group did rent a golf cart, but it probably wasn't necessary.The host had been responsive on questions, but really gave all info up front. The kitchen was so well equipped and present, the comment was made that they didn't have to search for anything. Our crew are cookers so it was nice to have everything nicely laid out. The granddaughters, in particular, loved the salt water pool so much! It was so nice to have when mentioning sightings of jellyfish.The vacation was a total WIN for all! Thank you for use of your Home Away From Home for the week!

This was the cleanest beach house we have ever stayed at which I really appreciated having a toddler. The house is beautiful and was perfect for my family. Easy walk to the beach and to the public kayak dock. We will be booking here again!

The host was fabulous! I would recommend this home to anyone. Close to the beach, quiet neighborhood, and very peaceful. If you are looking for a home that feels like home, this is the place! The elevator is most helpful for folks that have a difficult time with stairs or don’t want to make so many trips to bring in their belonging and groceries for their stay. I would rate more than 5 stars if I could. My family and I had a perfect stay. Top notch, fabulous host, great location, elevator, pool, and perfect amenities.

Wonderful home in ideal location!

We had a fantastic week-long stay at this beautiful home. It easily accommodated our large family, it is well-equipped, has extensive amenities and the owners are so friendly and communicative. We did not want leave and hope to come back next summer!

We both have always wanted a house at the coast, and in 2014, were able to realize that dream. We built our home on beautiful Oak Island, NC. We are both from western North Carolina and still live there, but love to get to the coast as often as possible. Our mission was to build a HOME, not a rental house. We accomplished that mission. We are willing to share our home - when we are not there ourselves!

We were looking for property close to golf, great fishing, and walking distance to the beach. We settled on Oak Island after looking up and down the coast of North and South Carolina. Oak Island is a quiet, family oriented island. There are no high rises, and relatively little traffic compared to other nearby beaches! The beaches are wide and great for walks. Great restaurants are a short distance away on the island, and more great food and shopping in Southport - only 5 miles away!
