Great location! The area around the Sugar The Sugar Shack was an absolutely beautiful winter wonderland. We felt very safe, and the cabin was clean and comfortable. This has been one of our favorite vacations. There is so much to do nearby—we even snowshoed just 10 minutes away at Lake Wenatchee State Park. Simply beautiful!

The property was absolutely perfect for our stay. We were in Washington for our daughter’s wedding who was staying across the street from us. It was very clean and roomy for the 4 of us.

Leavenworth Family time

This is a beautiful house with everything you need for a home away from home. We met up with my brother and his wife for a week of much needed family time. The house was perfect. It is a dog friendly home, but you would never have known. The house was immaculate! It is about 12 minutes from the Plain Hardware and the Plain Grocery. 30 minutes from downtown Leavenworth. We spent most of our days visiting friends at the lake. Lots of beautiful trails to hike nearby.

What agreat getaway!

We had a wonderful time! Very relaxing and really enjoyed the snow! The snow plows kept the roads good and they even plowed the driveway! We will definitely come back!!

The cabin offers a lovely wooded setting just a short distance from Leavenworth. It was clean and well stocked with towels and toiletries, which we appreciated. A few things to note: While the listing describes the property as remodeled, the inside of the cabin is older. Upon arrival, we discovered the downstairs heat was out, with the interior temperature at 53 degrees. When we contacted management, they mentioned they'd received a report from the guests that checked out the day we arrived but didn't notify us before check-in. The representative was apologetic about the lack of heat and lack of communication and personally delivered space heaters that evening on her way home from work, which we appreciated. Thank you!For comfort, we'd suggest adding a few more blankets—there was one throw blanket for the entire cabin that we could find. Plenty of space to spread out in the cabin, with some games and movies provided. The house guidebook was helpful. Overall, management was responsive and genuinely apologetic about the heating situation. The pre-arrival communication was good, providing specific driving instructions as they said GPS might take us on a wild goose chase, but GPS got us to the location no problem.

Quiet cabin in the woods

The location was great! The house was cozy!The amenities were okay, but nothing spectacular. It was a nice quiet getaway. They mentioned games, but there were only a couple scattered card games in a kids area upstairs.There was a nice coffee pot for coffee in the mornings. We were pleased when we got there to find they’d added a Keurig, but it didn’t work. It had the basic necessities for a weekend in the woods.

Wonderful Cabin in the woods!

We absolutely LOVED our stay! It was just how it showed & even better! The wood stove was such a cozy touch (& thanks for providing wood!!). The location & setting was fantastic!! I would highly recommend this darling cabin!

Lovely getaway

My husband, mother, MIL and I had a very relaxing and enjoyable weekend. Enjoyed the spacious home, "fought" over which cozy corner we got to occupy ans just soaked in the peacefulness around us.

Comfortable and quite

Nice weekend trip from Seattle. There are neighboring cabins relatively close, but not many people around and it still felt secluded. Easy access to Lake Wenatchee. Comfortable living room and bedroom spaces; was just two of us, but would be good for large groups also. Great view of the stars from the master bedroom.

Complete Gem

We had a wonderful visit here, very clean, high quality and well maintained. While the rest of the family was off skiing, I was able to stay back in full comfort with the dog, enjoy the quiet and felt very safe. I would highly recommend this cabin for winter games or summertime fun.

Great Home, Super Clean and Well Kept

Spent 4 days here in Late November and had a great time with the kids. The snow on the ground made for easy play time with the kids and the fire pit in the back yard made for a nice, relaxing evening under the stars. The kitchen had just about everything you might need and the house was immaculate when we arrived. We also liked being close to Plain when the need for groceries arose. We'd come back for sure.

Wonderful little getaway

This is an excellent cabin, furnishings, carpet, and decor all seem brand new (2019) with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The common area is excellent, and the internet is very fast. The wood stove was unique and fun. On the negative side the kitchen is a little under-stocked (needs more hefty pots / pans, a can opener, and a few other items) and it's not super-close to Leavenworth, but there's a handful of restaurants and places to provision at nearby. We'd like to come back in the future!

Great house

We had a great time and really enjoyed this property. At some point a good size animal was on the property. We saw their tracks. The air conditioner cooled the downstairs nicely. It would have been nice to have one upstairs as it was very warm until the middle of the night. That would not stop us from returning to this property again. We loved it.

So quiet!

Short 2-night trip to cross-country ski in Plain. The house was perfect, and the area was SO QUIET! The wild turkeys passing through the neighborhood was a nice surprise. The wood-stove was great and made this feel like a proper winter escape. Two bedrooms upstairs share a bathroom, and a third bedroom downstairs. Comfortable beds and good, clean sheets. No concerns at all there. There's no dishwasher, which was good for the teenager :). We will seek this one out for our next trip to Plain.

Not ideal for large families

The property was great. Rooms were large and quiet. We were able to have a crib and blow up mattress with plenty of space. The kitchen is small and was not stocked with normal kitchen items like skillets and mixing bowls. There is no dishwasher so be prepared for lots of hand washing dishes. The patio was rotten so lots of nails were sticking up which was an issue with our kids. It was a hot weekend and we ended up buying fans to help keep the house cool. It did cool off at night which helped. The living room was a nice set and comfortable for all of us and there was cable and WiFi The location was great and close to water access. All in al it was a great weekend and beyond the few house items it was a great house.

Cute interiors with a few "misses"

We liked the desolate, in-the-woods feel and it was comfortable for us two couples and our dog in town for a wedding. It was a quiet location and we saw lots of wildlife in the neighborhood including a black bear up the street ~10:30pm our first night. Pros: the living space is terrific with a large couch for hanging out, cell reception is good from the cabin, it stayed cool during the day, and we appreciated the extra accommodations we noticed that weren't listed (ex: an iron & board, salt/pepper/some spices in the kitchen cabinet) Cons: a creature shredded and tossed about a previous guest's McDonald's food and trash from the garbage bins all over the yard and driveway one night, we had to rewash some of the plates/utensils because they had gunk on them, and the downstairs bedframe is the antithesis of sleep-- screeching loud enough to be heard through both the closed bedroom and bathroom doors whenever someone does so much as breathe deeply. After one night, we switched to the extra bedroom upstairs. I'd recommend considering this place a two bedroom. With a large couch.

Mountain Hideaway

We stayed in this cute home for an after Christmas getaway to Leavenworth and for skiing in the area. Our trip followed an unexpected snowstorm in Seattle and of course in this mountain town. We were greeted with a cute, homey place tucked in a forest residential area - it even had some Christmas lights and some out decor inside which was very nice. It was roomy and a great layout for our family of 5 (adults). Unfortunately, early in the morning after we arrived, we lost power (because of a tree on a line nearby) and it began to get cold quite quickly and we could not cook as we had intended . We used the wood stove to stay warm and then headed out to ski and snowshoe. We called the property manager (Sean) and he was very helpful in helping us understand what we would need to do and to monitor when the power would be back on. Fortunately the power was restored by the late afternoon and we were able to return to the house with heat and lights! It was a great stay - a bit of an adventure and we did really like the sugar shack! The weather did cause some issues, but also made it incredibly beautiful. We had intended to cook breakfast both mornings - we did the second day and the kitchen did have everything we needed (well maybe a dishwasher would be nice). It was close to the Wenatchee National Forest (beautiful- great hiking) and convenient to both Leavenworth and Stevens Pass. We would definitely stay again and recommend for a mountain getaway!
