Beautiful home and oasis in the middle of Tacoma!

This home is unbelievable! The property it’s on makes you feel like you’re in a private resort! Barb is the host and one of the most delightful women we’ve ever met. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and the places to sit and relax and visit or numerous. We would highly recommend and hope to return.

Great place to stay and relaxing

This cottage is located in a quiet and relaxing atmosphere, with a pond, trees and nice area. Its updated and provides a great space to hang out, but yet separate enough to be in your own space. The host is friendly, helpful and overall a great person. Highly recommend staying here if your in the area. Overall, we loved the place.

Peaceful getaway, charming cottage and host.

We had such a great time staying at Barbara’s cottage in the Seattle-Tacoma area. The place was absolutely charming—peaceful, cozy, and perfectly located for all the hiking we wanted to do. Barbara was an incredible host—super welcoming, responsive, and thoughtful, but also gave us plenty of space to relax and enjoy our time. After long days exploring the trails, it was such a treat to come back to a quiet, comfortable cottage that felt like home. Can’t recommend it enough—thank you, Barbara!

VRBO adjacent to Pacific Lutheran University

The location was excellent. The size was just right. The grounds were beautiful.However there were quite a few ants which is not something that can be taken care of right away, although they tried. I was also not used to a VRBO owner asking so many detailed questions about our trip and our daily whereabouts..

Super Nice

The host, Barbara, lives in the house next door and is very welcoming and kind. She was baking the day we got there and offered us a mini banana bread loaf which was very moist and delicious. The house was very beautiful, clean, gated, and on a scenic piece of property with streams going through the property and a cute pond. I would stay here again

Splendid Retreat

My adult daughters and I planned a week long vacation. We truly enjoyed the cottage and can only describe it as a tranquil retreat. It was immaculately clean. The layout was perfect to come together and visit while enjoying the view of picturesque grounds that were beautifully landscaped. We had everything we could possibly need from the kitchen to the bath. The owner was an absolute delight and made sure to make us feel welcome.

Such a great location. Very quiet even with other rentals on the property. Super clean, very comfortable, and our host Barbara was available if needed the entire time. She accommodated my need for a box fan immediately, responded to all messages immediately. Definitely one of my best stays!

Beautiful setting

The pictures don't do this place justice. It was beautiful and so peaceful. There isn't a bad view from any spot in the house. The owner, Barbara makes it even better. She went above and beyond for us during out stay. We look forward to visiting here again very soon!

Great place to stay!

This was a great place to stay that has everything you need. It was close enough to go and see the surrounding attractions but yet it still felt peaceful and secluded. The only thing I can say that would have made it better is if there had been a living room/sitting area besides a dining room table to visit with the individuals we shared the cottage with. The dining room table was not the most comfortable area for that. The homeowner was very nice and willing to help if we needed anything. Would recommend it if you are looking for somewhere in the area.

Short stay for move

We had a lovely stay at this property. It met our basic needs and the hostess is a doll. I missed that it really had no area to sit and hang out and that effected us greatly at the end of a each day. We also wanted to cook in more and it was a challenge but we made it work.The area is beautiful and very close to the JBLM area.

Cosy Cottage - An Oasis Not to Be Missed!

Our stay began with a delightful conversation with our host, Barbara. During our stay she checked in with us periodically to ensure our stay was comfortable. The cottage has lots of amenities and great views of the property. Large trees, several ponds, and birds. Our first morning while sipping my coffee a large bird landed in a tree just outside. My guess it was a golden eagle or an immature bald. It was fantastic!Close to several stores and restaurants, this is an ideal location for venturing around Tacoma.

Amazing house and hostess

This was one of the best places we have ever stayed. The house is set in a beautiful location and is very nice. It would have easily accomodated 4 people and had room to visit with other family. Our hostess, Barbara, is a wonderful person and was super helpful. We can't recommend this rental enough - in fact we've already suggested our daughters book this house for their upcoming visit to the Tacoma area.
