For privacy and comfort guests choose Waterford Executive Suites. The space is quiet (soundproofing from other suite), and private with a private garden and deck. It is in a quiet neighbourhood on the edge of our vibrant downtown (music, restaurants, shopping, theatres) and 3 doors from the walking bridge over Otonabee River and the trails network throughout the city and the Canada Trail. The suite is furnished with quality furniture, has gas fireplace, gas barbecue, a fully equipped kitchen (for a baker, chef, and a separate counter has a bar sink) and good cotton linens are provided for bed and bathroom. The shower doubles as a steam room. With 25 years of experience with a successful Guest House and Spa, now I welcome people with all their individuality and unique needs and likes to one semi-detached private suite. And yes, the bedroom has blackout curtains and the bed and bath rooms are private from the living space. There is a 'throne room' bathroom in the living space, appropriate for guests. Linens for pullout Lazyboy queen for 3rd guest is $100/night. Looking for a place in town for the winter? Special rates apply. Call Marlis

From a Saskatchewan Durham Wheat subsistence farm to many places across Canada, choosing Peterborough as home in 1970's after travelling around the world for a year, Marlis loves her city and welcomes visitors with warmth and information on the area and community. She appreciates cultural experience and learning, studies indigenous learning, and practices writing prose. She loves reading, swimming, family gatherings, travel and close friends. Lately she has begun to learn to play the card game of Bridge.

The neighbourhood is small, tucked between the main streets of downtown and the river, home to retired academics and professionals, young families with children and retired couples and singles. The homes are well kept, many have pets that walk to the parks across the river daily. Best of all its very close to the downtown, 10 minutes to restaurants, shopping, theatres and music venues, banking and business offices.

The property is a small house, carefully divided into two separate suites, each with main floor living areas. The guest suite has bedroom, bathroom, laundry upstairs (second small bathroom on main floor). The other suite is similar on main floor and has bedroom, bathroom, laundry and storage downstairs below the living areas. There are parking spaces that allow everyone access without car shuffles, and each has private garden. There is excellent sound proofing between the suites for added privacy. The heating and air conditioning, while thermostated are designed so guests can manage their temperature control. Both suites have WiFi, cable/satelite TV on Smart TV -- everything but a telephone. All expenses for utilities are included.
