Everything was great! The property and location were awesome, a hidden gem for sure. The river and kayaking is the star of course. Saw 4 manatees swim by the dock our last day and a few while kayaking as well!

Although the lawn crew arrived the following day, clearly weeding has not been done for some time. The a/c had not been adjusted for guest arrival and the already sweltering days made it almost impossible to cool down. BUT the home made for a perfect river get away. Her home was clean & everything was in great working order. Tons of wildlife, absolutle peace and she's got the Location - Location - Location!

This home was even nicer than I thought it would be. I was particularly surprised by how open and elegant the main room and kitchen felt. The riverside views and swimming were stunning, and I think we may be coming back next year.

Location is everything

My family and I have been coming to the river for the last six years or so I have stayed in many vrbo rentals both good and bad. I can honestly say this is the absolute best rental thus far! The photos are up-to-date and accurate no surprise murky water, just crystal clear, jump, right off of the deck or launch the provided water toys for a short paddle either way in case the littles need to have a shallow sandy beach area to play at as the tide rises. From the dock we saw manatees, an otter playing and lots of fish. The home itself was very comfortable and I loved the mermaid theme ( i too love everything mermaid) it had everything we needed to cook, clean towels and linens, an amazing view and just felt like home! My only complaint would be that I couldn’t stay forever lol Thank you for allowing us to rent your beautiful home and we pray you have availability to host us for my son’s birthday next year! PS: The host was an extremely nice and responsive! Best stay we have had in all the time we have been coming! Thank you

Relax and Unwind

The pictures do not do the house justice. The details and art around the home is beautiful! The house included everything we needed and more. We stayed as a family of 6 (2 adults, 4 kids: 12-19) and had a great 4 days at the river. Perfect spot with an amazing deck. Just the right amount of shade and sun throughout the day. Plenty of space to spread out and enjoy Mother Nature! We saw manatee, deer, turkey and even a few otters. The paddle up river is gorgeous and then the well deserved float back down is even better! Highly recommend this home!

Mermaid Living

We enjoyed our stay! Loved all the artwork and glasswork around the home too. We saw 1 manatee swim by, an otter catch a fish, and a raccoon washing his hands. It was a peaceful getaway that was much needed.

We absolutely LOVED our stay! This house has everything you will need to fully enjoy the Weeki! The dock is AMAZING with the biggest Bay tree, providing the best shade on the river! The sky chairs were so relaxing. Kayaks were great! We saw so much wildlife! Deer, turkey, otters, manatees, fish! We are so appreciative to Susan for sharing her mermaid home with us! She made the whole process a breeze! Definitely booking again for our annual mermaid trip! Fins up to you, Susan!

Fantastic getaway

Property is very comfortable and located in a quiet area. Listing does a good job explaining the amenities. The pictures posted look good however the property is much nicer in person. The star of the show is obviously the river. This property has a great multi-level deck thats naturally well shaded for hours of outdoor enjoyment.

Wildlife!

We saw so many forms of wildlife! Manatees, otter gave us a show, 2 dolphins, deer, birds, raccoon, numerous fish, wild turkey, and last but not least a marmoset monkey on a kayak! What a great little gem. Much enjoyed hanging out and swinging!

Perfect for Girl’s Week

This cottage was so beautifully decorated and well appointed! Everything we needed for a special week together. We especially enjoyed coffee on the deck in the morning and watching the wildlife- and two manatees! I can’t recommend this enough!

Best River Trip Ever!

Perfect for our family of 3! Peaceful and relaxing get away from the city. The views and water were amazing. Loved watching and experiencing all of the wildlife daily from the back or front porch (birds, deer, turkeys, otters, manatees). The hot tub was an added bonus after each kayak excursion or dip in the cool spring water. LaurieCue BBQ and Breakfast Station were a hit for our family.We can’t wait to return again next year!

Wonderful!

Stayed at Susan’s place with my best friend and both of our families. We are avid kayakers and the house is on our favorite part of the river. It’s well equipped with everything you need plus lots of extra bonuses like games and music instruments. The house feels cozy and warm. The multi-level deck was amazing for taking in the wildlife. We had an amazing time and are planning to come back every year.

relaxing wildlife retreat

We loved the giant deck right on the river. We saw manatees almost every day and enjoyed the outdoor amenities like the hot tub, kayaks, and hammock chairs. Overall a very nice, relaxed vacation spot great for viewing wildlife and experiencing the beautiful Weeki Wachee River.

Welcome to my little piece of paradise on the Weekie Wachee River. It’s my weekend getaway and sanctuary. I only rented to friends at first, and word of mouth. It needed work when I bought the house but I knew it was special. After over a year of stabilizing the foundation, renovations, landscaping and remodeling, inside and out, I can finally say the house is done. Vacation rental ready; 2 private bedrooms, two baths, the outdoor 'Florida Room' with queen futon and living room pull-out sofa; sleeps eight. Many upgrades, including professional kitchen, WiFi, Flat screen on Spectrum, bamboo flooring, original art, kayak rack, pavers, shade sail. Spring of 2020 upgrades include deck replacement, an outdoor "Bali Bamboo Bathroom" and new cabinets and countertop in the Florida Room.

This is just one of the most special places on the planet, or at least Florida. There is something magical and sacred about the Weeki Wachee river. I have traveled extensively, but this little spring fed river holds a magic all of its own. You just have to dive into its crystal clear waters to understand. I have found my own little fountain of youth.

The property is surrounded by wildlife; deer, otter, turtles, manatee, even a small population of bear, but I have never seen one. Bird-watching, is awesome, hummingbirds, wild turkey, hawks, eagles, kites, migratory song birds, water birds will be seen on any given day. Enjoy the day just sitting on the deck and watching folks float down the river can take up your entire afternoon. And the best part, My neighbors are former mermaids. Yep, they really are and if you are lucky you might just get to meet them.
