Lovely house in a lovely location. Lots of pots, plates etc needed clean prior to use. Two burners on stove not working making food preparation a little more difficult. Take extra drinking water then you think you need.

Perfect Location

House is beautiful and clean, very easy to walk to the beach to enjoy the wonderful sunsets and swims. Close to everything and communication with owner was second to none. Very informative and helpful in how the house operates, what we need to bring as well as letting us know about some unexpected conditions of the island to be aware of just before our trip. I would highly recommend this beautiful home for a family to spend some real quality time together ❤️

Rustic Beach Shack

Large one level house, with numerous indoor and outdoor eating areas. Very laid back. Would be great for a group of guys fishing as very close to the shop and the beaches. A second shower would be handy. Lots of hot water to wash off the salt. Thanks, Clare.

Perfect little beach shack

We recently had our second stay at ‘Mister Barge’ and loved it just as much as our first stay. The property is perfect for a Moreton Island getaway and has a fantastic location. With a perfect little beach out front and little wreck to explore within walking distance. Well equipped for a sunset BBQ and even a fire pit! We love this place and will hopefully visit again next year.

Great little beach 'shack'

We had a great time at this place. The description of the place was accurate and was located brilliantly in Bulwer - right behind the dunes (<1 minute walk to the beach) and a few minutes walk from the shops. It is a basic setup but had everything we needed and would be good for large families. The host was fantastic to deal with and really friendly. Only a minor little issue at check in, when the place wasn't quite ready in time. Otherwise a really enjoyable stay

Great little holiday house

Simple nice house for exploring Moreton Island. 50m walk through the dune vegetation to the beach. We mainly surfed and fished along the northern coast of the island and the house was perfect for this. Clare was fantastic to deal with. We will be back

Wonderful break with family and friends!

What a magic spot! We absolutely loved our time at Bulwer staying in this little beach shack. Simple but perfect with everything you need and an absolutely awesome location. The kids had a blast and the adults did to. Thank you so much for letting us stay. We hope to be back soon! Jade, Jp and the kids.

Superb Location

A short walk to the beach and 5 minutes walk to the shop. Thank You Clare for having us in your property. We enjoyed our stay, lots of fun and adventures. Clare the owner/manager was very very helpful and approachable when for some reason we've run out of water in day 2 of our stay and we could not reach or contact the "caretaker" of the house. However even Clare the owner of the house could not even reach the caretaker or the caretaker doesn't want to answer her calls. Clare guide us to go to the caretakers own house and when we got there, he's inside his house in front of computer, knock on his door, and we got an answer "what with a raised voice and we said there is no water in the property and I am talking with Clare right now and he answered "we just came back". The caretaker of the house was rude and arrogant, he doesn't even return call to know why you call. He came back to the property after 2 days and apologise for his attitude and told us that if we want to come back just call him directly because its cheaper and he manages 30+ property in Moreton Island. Overall, we all love Moreton Island and planning to come back.
