Home Away From Home

Joe & Lin (Edith) are two of the nicest people I have ever met. This is a very clean basement suite with a bedroom closet cabinets, bathroom with shower, small kitchen with all of the utensils you need, and a living room / dining room with plenty of room to spread out with 3 couches including a pull out and a round kitchen table with 4 chairs.I stayed here for 4 weeks with my 16 year old teen daughter joining me on weekends. This is a well kept home in a well kept neighbourhood. Walks along the ocean literally two minutes away (high bank) with gorgeous views and a 10 minute walk to the Omokoroa Beach.Nice and quiet with local coffee shops, restaurants, super market and a laundry within a 3 minute drive.I would definitely want to come again!

Lovely stay!

Lyn was an awesome host. Lyn gave us a history of the area and took the tyime to direct is to the local walkways. Which were AWESOME.

Unit was very clean and very well-appointed with everything possibly needed. Lovely owners who obviously care greatly for their home and garden. Downside was lack of sunshine....unit underneath house and partially built into bank; and dated decor.....'coffee' awful -please- quality instant coffee isn't all that expensive to provide one or two cups of !...but the pros made up for the cons...

Amazing area, lovely accommodation

Great location, lovely hosts, fascinating garden, beautiful walks around the peninsula point just out the back gate with stunning, peaceful views. Weather was mixed being spring but we could tell the renovated apartment would be cozy in winter and cool in summer to work with the opposite weather outside. Guest book shows years of happy stayers, which now includes us.

Unit is lovely and cosy. Hosts are warm and friendly but leave you to yourself if you don’t require further assistance. The Unit has everything required for a stay, cutlery, toaster. Hairdryer, plates, knives and forks, cups. All the usual amenities. We went for a drive around and the area is wonderful to visit. Well worth the price paid. Enjoyed our stay immensely!

Joe and I are retired farmers and lived here at 4 Walnut Grove since 2007... over that time we have seen a huge change in the last five years with housing and opportunities for more businesses to be established giving more options for our guests to eat out and have and most enjoyable stay...we are situated in a wonderful location toward the end of the Peninsular where there are numerous walkways and beautiful trees over 100 years old and all by the edge of the Tauranga harbour... we are delighted to Host our guest from all walks of life and in exchange learn of their location and how they enjoy our quietness right in the heart of nature itself.....

Our property is self-contained and situated in a private location on the edge of Walnut Grove where there is a beautiful Reserve at our back gate. There are large trees over 100 years old and this brings numerous native birds and their songs sounding in the air... Tuis, Kingfishers, Herons, Rosellas, Bellbirds and sometimes the Kakas visit as well...the waters of the Tauranga Harbour can be viewed from the Reserve and are just moments away There is always interesting activity to show with fishing boats, jet skis and Yachts sailing...
