Our spacious, well-appointed and secluded three bedroom chalet-style cottage offers an ideal relaxing getaway with a stunning view across the Southwest River in the picturesque fishing village of New London, 10 minutes from Cavendish National Park.
Our one-acre property boasts over 150 feet of south facing shoreline on the tidal Southwest River just a short distance from the mouth of the ocean.

The cottage itself is set back on a slope nestled among mature trees on each side affording our guests full privacy while still providing a gorgeous view of the river and valley from the living room, bedrooms and each of three large decks.

Our property has a 30 ft patio for lounging or eating. Guests have full access to our two sea kayaks. The front of the cottage faces to the South and as a result the property, deck and dock are blanketed with sunshine most of the day.

The cottage features comfortable furnishings and reclaimed pine flooring throughout — all carefully chosen to reflect a warm and inviting cottage ambiance. All new major kitchen appliances were installed in 2021.

We have new, high quality mattresses topped with quality cotton linens and summer-weight feather duvets, and have both bath and beach towels in good supply. Our bathroom is spacious and the claw foot tub is perfect for taking a leisurely soak at the end of the day but also boasts a wall mounted nozzle for showering.

We have outside lounge chairs and a picnic table for outdoor relaxation and dining as well as an outdoor shower to rinse off after a day at the beach. The cottage is equipped with a washer/dryer for guests' use as well as a Smart TV connected to high speed internet, DVD player and of course a BBQ for outdoor cooking.

Location is central to many north shore attractions including golf, beaches, lobster dinners, and deep sea fishing.

- Cleaning fee (150$), vrbo fees and provincial taxes excluded.

Everything was as listed! Plenty of room for a family of 4 (even though there was just the two of us). Awesome view of the lake, from both deck levels and the firepit, as well as the eagles nest. We toured the north and west of the island and the majority of businesses closed on the 1st Saturday in October...the day we arrived :(.Would absolutely return to this accommodation.

We had an amazing stay, the cottage is lovely, the views are amazing as were the Eagles right outside the window. There was anything you could need and then some. Parking was good and it was easy to find.The hosts were very nice and quick to respond to any queries, the place was clean and tidy.Would 100% recommend to stay here you won't be disappointed.

This was a clean, well-appointed cottage. On the spectrum of swanky to rustic, this property leans more to the latter, which is fine. Overall, we were comfortable here, though an upper floor washroom would have been welcome for those of us with aging knees. Those with low-slung vehicles should be warned that the lane that approaches the cottage is fairly rutted and uneven. Until we learned to pick our way down the lane, our Can-Ams did bottom out on occasion.

Pros: great location. Very quiet. Property was exceptionally clean. Host answered question via text very quickly. Lots of space for families. The kayaks and paddle board were great. All amenities listed (appliances, washer/dryer etc) were in working order. The eagle next was pretty cool to see. Cons: the basement was quite hot and humid, very damp smelling. There was a mouse in the ceiling in our first night there. The dock, as lovely as it is, is not conducive to swimming. The water was full of algae. Overall, I would stay here again however I would have liked knowing more info in advance regarding the swimming conditions. When an ad says beach, I assume that means swimming.

Lovely property, kind host, and breathtaking views, but…dead and alive large carpenters ants everywhere on the floor, bugs trapped in the bedroom ceiling lighting fixtures, and daily construction noise from the neighbour starting 830am hampered enjoyment. Recommended, just adjust your expectations accordingly.

Amazing location and great ambiance

We loved staying at this cottage. The ambiance made for a perfect relaxing vacation. Lots of nature and solitude but close to lots of amenities and beautiful beaches!

The house was a perfect base for exploring PEI, but was also fantastic to hang back and relax. Check-in was super easy and the hosts made themselves available for anything we needed virtually. Loved it!

We absolutely loved our stay at Highview Cottage. There was plenty of space for all of us, the property was peaceful and so idyllic. The children loved the dock and the kayaking was an added highlight to our trip. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Lovely house with an exceptional location if being tucked away in the trees but close to services is your jam. Would happily stay again.

We are originally from Montreal and Toronto, but call Calgary, Alberta home now. We rented on the island in 2015, and fell in love with the place. After a bit of searching, we found this little bit of paradise on the South West river....

The three level deck has south facing exposure, direct water access from the property. It is near everything: golf, Cavendish, Kensington, beaches, seafood, deep sea fishing etc. Yet, when you get there, it's like you are all alone.
