Absolutely charming cottage in a beautiful setting. The owner designed the entire place with a rustic quaint yet modern style creating a relaxing atmosphere. The farm animals on the property, and the friendly visiting dogs, add special fun.

Loved this place,especially the views from the upstairs & deck! Jen was very easy to communicate with & super simple check in. Lovely that we were given a bottle of wine, cheese, snacks & fresh eggs! So nice to hear running water from the fountains while you relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. You can even feed the animals and pick your own lavender ;-) Close to all surrounding towns and winery's, couldn't be better. Thank You Jen!

We stayed at this charming sheep farm for New Year’s Eve into New Year’s Day, and it was truly a magical experience. We were lucky enough to get a last-minute booking, and everything about the stay felt special. The property is beautiful, with incredible balcony views and the sweetest animals that happily come right up to you. It was such a unique and memorable experience.The thoughtful touches really stood out! complimentary cheese, wine, and snacks, incredibly comfortable bedding, and a space stocked with everything we could have needed. It was cozy, peaceful, and the perfect way to ring in the New Year.The only downside was communication with the host. I reached out prior to the stay with questions about early check-in, late check-out, and whether my child’s age was okay, but mostly received automated messages that didn’t address my questions directly. I also reached out upon check-in and later when the Wi-Fi wasn’t working and didn’t receive a response at the time. The host did eventually respond regarding the eggs and explained that the chickens rest during winter, which was completely understandable.My only concern was that quicker responses would have been reassuring if there had been a more urgent issue, though I do understand this may have been due to the New Year’s Eve holiday. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I would absolutely recommend it and love to return.

Wonderful get-away

Such a peaceful spot, yet close to all the valley restaurants and wineries. The best part, sitting on the deck with wine and seeing the animals, the mountains, and sunset.

Wonderful place

This adorable, quiet retreat was just as described in the listing. Everything was perfect, from the lovely grounds, the views, the quaint and extremely well-appointed property, and the thoughtful attention to detail. Jen is a delightful host who communicated exceptionally well throughout my stay. I loved staying here and would love to return.

Cute and very comfortable redone barn. Great napping couches upstairs. Loved the animals and the convenient location to everything…SY, Los Olivos, Foxen Canyon and lovely local farm produce to make excellent meals in.

A beautiful place to stay! We just loved it - the views, the animals and the place was wonderful! Great host and easy check in. Perfect for the 4 of us for a girls get away. Beds were so comfortable! Close to Los Olivos for dinner with lots of great options. Will definitely stay again when in the area. Thank you!!

Amazing trip and destination!

We cannot say more good things about this property - location, charm, views, gorgeous sunsets, stargazing at night, Jen's kindness and hospitality, the animals - it was an absolutely perfect getaway. Very close to Solvang and wineries and grocery stores. Will definitely return in the fall for the grape picking season!

Great farmhouse stay

Really loved this converted three-car garage into a two-story apartment - the decor and farmhouse appointments were really nice and we loved the natural light and brightness on the upper level especially. Also liked the outdoor spaces and all the views were spectacular. Great location for wine tasting and close to Solvang and Los Olivos restaurants.

Perfect place

We had the most fantastic stay at Jen’s guesthouse. It is even more beautiful than the images in the listing. We stayed here over the weekend when we got married in the area and the location, surroundings, the amenities Jen offers are truly unbeatable. We are already planning our next stay here. If you are looking for a peaceful gorgeous serene place to stay this is it!

Beautiful and private wine country vacation home!

Anavo farm is amazing! The converted carriage house is beautifully transformed into a private cottage, and every detail to make our stay comfortable was attended to. This is truly a special place. I can not recommend Anavo Farm more highly. Jen was the perfect host. We will stay here again without a doubt.

Great escape

Perfect location! The most charming, delightful space imaginable! So many complimentary items—wine in fridge available for purchase! Goats and sheep on site—beyond wonderful! I can’t say enough great things about this property. Our host, Jen was terrific. This is a wonderful place for a getaway.

Beautiful and Relaxing

This was probably one of the best places I have stayed in over the years. The cottage is lovely- beautiful views of the pasture and mountains from both upstairs and downstairs. Close to towns, while still feeling nice and unplugged. There was a welcoming bottle of wine and miscellaneous snacks- which was great after the my drive, and the animals were very sweet and friendly. Comfortable bed and couches upstairs and down. Would definitely stay here again.

Relaxing atmosphere

Charming place. Could use seating cushions for more comfort in the outdoor areas and inside eating nook. Does not have a bedroom with a door, just a bed on the floor upstairs.

Romantic Hideaway

This is a perfectly charming cottage that is ideal for a couple's getaway - for wine tasting, for hiking, for experiencing fabulous weather. The views are fantastic and the property is full of whimsy. The outside garden is beautiful, with hummingbirds all around and lizards darting about. The aromas from the lavender and wisteria are intoxicating, and the firepit is perfect for a chilly evening with a bottle of wine. The unit was clean, well-stocked and roomy for two people. We loved the décor and the vibe, and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

Perfect Weekend

This was our second visit to Anavo Farms and we can’t wait to visit again! I celebrated my birthday here amongst the beauty and serenity of the farm and all of its’ inhabitants. Jenn is the perfect host and made us feel totally at home. So many cozy touches, a welcoming bottle of wine and an assortment of goodies including delicious cheese and farm fresh eggs. We enjoyed watching the animals in the pasture while having our morning coffee. There’s even food to feed them … so much fun. Close to Ballard, Los Olivos and many wineries. This is a very special place and we look forward to our next stay. Thanks again for everything Jenn!

Our new favorite spot

The short version is this: Everything positive that other visitors have said about Anavo Farm is true, and then some. It's beautiful, inviting, well appointed, quiet and private and thoughtfully designed, even more gorgeous than the pictures. But more then anything else, both my husband and I felt like our hosts really just wanted us to feel taken care of. From the variety of snacks waiting for us in the kitchen, to the thoughtful guidebook with tons of local recommendations, to the bathroom that had anything that we might have forgotten at home. At every turn, this marvelous place made us feel well taken care of. We've travelled all over the world, and accordingly rented endless lovely apartment. But it's the care and consideration put into Anavo Farms that makes this our new favorite spot.

The most amazing farmhouse cottage

We had simply the most amazing time at this outstanding property. Jen is the most amazing host. The cottage is beautifully furnished, immaculate and has everything you could possibly ask for. There is no detail not thought of or provided for. A wonderful kitchen, living areas beyond beautiful and outside decks to enjoy the amazing views. This property was just stunning. We walked, biked and sat out at night watching the stars by the fire pit. Watching Zora the sheep roam in the pastures in front of the cottage was another highlight and such a cool experience. From the complementary bottle of delicious wine and cheese - we can’t thank Jen enough for giving us a wonderful few days away and memories of a magical place to share and remember forever. 5 stars just aren’t enough!
