Coming to our ranch is like taking a step back in time. Happy Canyon is 12 miles to the north of the Pacific Ocean and nestled in a peaceful corner of Santa Barbara County. As you drive to our property you will pass hillsides that are full of vineyards, near beautiful ranch estates. Our cottage is surrounded by an abundance of sunshine in an oak-studded landscape with beautiful grasslands. If you’re looking for space and peace we’ve got you covered. As you pull into the gate you will be mesmerized by the tranquility. Our farmhouse is private and has lots of outdoor areas to relax, whether you want to sip wine on the porch or read in a hammock or nestle up by the fireplace. Our nomadic cottage takes old farm charm and blends it perfectly with a modern edge. As you step into the cottage you will feel amazed by the simplicity of the sunshine beaming through the windows. Every detail of the furnishings and layout have been perfected to welcome you. Our area is home to six major vineyards and one active winery. We are in an agricultural area near working farms. The name Happy Canyon captures the way you feel here. We have the latest Wi-Fi available, along with a mesh router system, it’s the best we can get but sometimes it can be spotty. The internet service is Starlink. TV is a smart TV, just bring your own passwords. This is a non smoking property and we like to keep our neighbors happy with quiet time from 9pm to 9am. Great place!

My wife and I stayed here to visit the wineries and relax. The property is absolutely beautiful and the house was well decorated and very clean.

I see why they call it Happy Canyon

We had a wonderful experience staying at this property. The amenities and attention to detail was higher than expected. The house and surrounding acreage are meticulously maintained and fun to explore. We’ll definitely be back!

Perfect Stay

Stayed with my wife and 4 year old boy. My son enjoyed being around the horses, goats and chickens as well as the super friendly Australian Shepherd. The ranchers were very kind to us and invited us to their bbq.

Sweetest Sweet Sixteen

We had an all girls weekend for my daughter’s Sweet Sixteen birthday and staying at this beautiful home made it extra special! This property is absolutely magical and my daughter and her best friend fell in love with the farm animals, the friendly dogs and the amazing property. We will definitely be staying here again!

Exactly what we needed!

The house was amazing, spacious and perfect! The location was out about 10 min from town, and honestly so much more peaceful. The ranch-hand and his family were amazing and even shared some bbq tacos - best taco ever! We will be back for sure!

The most incredible rental ever

This is a special place. One that will get under your skin. My whole family was so sad to leave. From the beautiful home, to the gorgeous land, the lovely people who work at the farm, the adorable animals. It’s a little slice of heaven. Can’t wait to come back.

Picture book stay

From the moment we drove in, we knew this would be a magical stay. From the picturesque grounds to the cozy cottage to the super friendly staff it couldn’t get any better really. Being able to experience all the incredible benefits that come with being on a farm was amazing. Fresh farm eggs, amazing animals, fairy tree swing. All that was missing were the fairies :). 15 min from solvang and any cute town you’d want to shop in. Drive to the farm is peaceful and beautiful. Will definitely be staying here again in the near future!

Complete Bliss

From the moment we stepped out of the truck to unload and settle in, all stress and past thoughts of work and life just vanished. This place is magical and the owner and staff at the ranch are super sweet and helpful. They made us feel welcome immediately and asked if we wanted to join their Sunday night BBQ. We had a box of fresh eggs waiting for us in the guesthouse and they were fantastic. We highly recommend this place for a wonderful, beautiful, and relaxing get away. And the fact that the area has some super cute small towns with fantastic food and shops, not to mention great wine tasting, makes this place special. We'll be back, if they will have us. Magical Farm Stay

My family and I stayed at this beautiful property for four wonderful days and we cannot say enough great things about the property. My toddler and pug were in heaven exploring the property and the animals. The grounds are so immaculately maintained and the house is perfectly appointed with everything you need for a tranquil and comfortable stay. The best part of the stay was Adrian, Antonio, and Vanessa who live on and maintain the property. They are so sweet and welcoming and their dogs are the best! We already miss them! If you are looking for a relaxing, peaceful, unplugged vacation, look no further! We will definitely be back.

Beautiful farmhouse property

This was truly an amazing place to stay! House is beautiful, clean, comfortable (including very comfy beds), and has everything you need. Property was lovely as well. My two young kids had fun playing in the grass and visiting all of the animals.

fantastic stay

beautiful home on a lovely farm. a few blissful days away from the city (which we love) had such a great time just sitting under the old oak trees that we didn't even make it out much to the wineries etc. we had a great stay and if you are looking for quiet, you will too! AC, but we mostly enjoyed the breezes. no bathtub (kind of a bummer, I enjoy a soak on vacation) and one bathroom to share. ample space for our family of 4 with 2 teens. we mostly spent the days outdoors, lots of patio spaces and lawn. And our doggie Finn had a wonderful time too!

Cutest Farmhouse

We had the best time staying here! My kids (3 and 6) have already asked if we could go back and visit the horses and chickens they befriended during our short stay. My 6 year old loved playing Monopoly and there was so much space for all of us to hang out in while we were there. We even enjoyed eating dinner outside on the deck one night!

Peaceful perfection!

Could not have been a better experience. The cottage and ranch were immaculate. Absolutely stunning. So much fun to bring my dogs. The staff of the ranch are incredible. Thank you to Adrian and his mom and dad, Antonio, Ricardo, Vivi, Luna, the horses, goats, chickens and pig. Highly recommend. We went to Los Olivos, Santa Ynez, Ballard and Solveng with ease. Thank you Issa!

Isabell and her family instantly fell in love with the wonderful Santa Ynez Valley. They bought the working cattle ranch in November 2020 in quaint and tranquil Happy Canyon with its amazing views of the San Rafael and Sierra Madre Mountains. They focused on the extensive renovations of the two traditional ranch houses and on preserving the unique character of the houses yet adding all modern amenities to provide a comfortable atmosphere. As of January 2022 they are super excited to start renting them out to visitors..
