Characterful, pretty, family friendly Georgian house centrally located in Wells

In the heart of the smallest city in England, this period Georgian cottage offers an ideal base for sampling the delights of Wells and exploring the surrounding countryside. It is a minutes walk from the centre of the town. The end house in a row, it unusually for a city property has a lovely, peaceful garden. The house is kept extremely clean and has gas central heating with a recently installed combi boiler. The sitting room is very spacious, with a lovely wooden floor, wood burner, wi-fi, TV/DVD player with a DVD libarary. The kitchen is well equipped. The dining room is a pretty light room with views of garden from glass door. Upstairs has a lovely double bedroom, thoughtfully decorated with a king size bed. There is also the bathroom with bath and overhead shower and twin bed room. Wells has a wealth of history, that is extremely accessible. There is the magnificent cathedral which houses one of the earliest mechanical clocks in existence. Vicars Close is the oldest continuously inhabited medieval street in Europe. The Bishop's Palace and Beggars porch are adjacent to the busy town square which has a market twice weekly. Wells itself is within easy reach of Bristol, Bath, Glastonbury and the limestone based Mendip Hills offering attractions such as Bristol Zoo, the haunted Wookey Hole Caves, the Roman Baths, Cheddar Gorge, the SS Great Britain, Clifton Suspension Bridge, fantastic shopping and so much more! There is also outlet shopping at Clark's Village in Street, 20 minutes drive away.
Wells is easily accessible, close to the M5, Bristol Airport, main line train stations and has a bus station.
Weeklong bookings start on Friday. Minimum four night stay during the week

Charming house.

Lovely property , full of character. Very clean and well equipped.Great location in central Wells. Beautiful compact city , plenty to do and see.Would recommend highly for a week's stay.

We had such a lovely and much needed holiday. The house was lovely. Very comfortable and had everything you needed. Situated in the centre of Wells was a perfect location. Wells itself is very close to many other great day attractions

A perfect fit!

Charming, wonderfully equipped, comfortable house in walking distance of Wells' many attractions, restaurants, shops, country walks. We were here for 10 days and felt very much at home. Our hosts had thought of everything. We hated to leave!

Lovely house

My daughter and I stayed at the Green House for a week and had a beautiful stay. The house was just as described, central to everything in Wells, and peaceful and friendly. Our communication with the host was excellent. Highly recommend. We would love to return sometime!

Amazing vist

What a wonderful vacation. Kim reached out to us the second we booked. She was so helpful. This house was amazing and thr town was beautiful. The Tesco was within walking distance as was a lot of different resturants and shopping. The hkme had everything we needed plus some. I wish I could live here. If you are taking the train pre-book your taxi.

A cosy and comfortable base in central Wells

An end of terrace property in the heart of this historic little city. It is fantastically well equipped and comfortable. There is a lovely cosy ambience and we particularly liked having some outdoor space which is a rarity when compared with similar rentals in central Wells. The owner was very responsive to communications. Although there is limited parking on the street we found a space on Silver Street just 5 minutes walk away which has unrestricted parking. Everywhere in Wells is walkable and the main shopping street with some good independent shops is steps away. Don’t miss the market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. We would definitely return to The Green House on a return trip to the area.

A bijou beauty!

We stayed here for a month whilst waiting for our next property, it was really sweet. It’s very well looked after, the owners were a charm to communicate with, considerate and responsive. The house was cleaned and beds changed weekly, & the cleaner was a sweetie too! It was very comfortable, easy to adjust heating, the kitchen was fully supplied with utensils and a great variety of dishes & pans. Ideal for a couple or family with young children, for our teen boys the twin bedroom they shared was too small, but perfect for young ones.

Wonderful Wells

Arrived at the cottage to find it immaculately presented &very, very well equipped. To welcome us was wine, treats and a beautiful bouquet of flowers. The cottage was n a fantastic location, very close to the beautiful town centre. Communication with the owners was a joy, they made everything so easy and enjoyable for us. Shame I can only give 5 stars, I could easily double that and then some.

Lovely house, great location.

Fantastic house, well presented. Location is brilliant - only 5 minutes walk to the shops but just off the main drag. Everything worked well. Would recommend to anyone wanting to visit Wells or the vicinity.

Beautiful little cottage.

We spent Christmas in this lovely little house so that we could be near family that live locally. It all worked out beautifully from booking to picking up the keys and communication with the owners. Its a very warm, cosy, clean house in easy walking distance to shops and the cathedral and other local attractions. We hope to be back soon!

Wonderful stay

We were in Wells on family business. The Green House was a great base for us. It's a spacious, comfortable house; well equipped, clean, stylishly furnished and decorated. Kim and Liam are lovely hosts, welcoming and helpful. We would certainly recommend this place to anyone visiting Wells.

A lovely base to explore Wells and Somerset

Very clean, well appointed and with a nice private garden full of birds, in a road very near to the town centre for pubs, shops, cathedral etc. Good pub only a few doors away. Comfortable beds, good cooking facilities, spacious lounge and plentiful hot water. Very easy place to stay.

Gorgeous Cottage, wonderful city

This lovely cottage is brilliantly located in the centre of Wells. All local sights are easily reached. The cottage is so cosy and well equipped. Spotless and very comfortable we had a great stay. The beds are very comfy (ooh those pillows!) and every need was thought of. Kim was a very professional host whose communication throughout the stay was excellent. We only wish we could've stayed longer...we will be back to stay at the Green House soon... hopefully .

Gemütliches, gut gelegenes und super ausgestattetes Ersatz-Zuhause

Gemütliches Reihenhaus mit super ausgestatteter Küche und ruhigem, hellem Essbereich. Wir haben es sehr genossen, mitten in Wells zu leben und unsere Ferien /Schulferien dort zu verbringen. Die Vermieter sind unglaublich nett und sympathisch und kümmern sich sofort bei Fragen. Unbedingt empfehlenswert!

Wonderful Short Break

We have had a fantastic time in Wells, and would thoroughly recommend this property. Great location, very clean, really comfortable, and really well equipped. The owners were extremely helpful and provided lots of information about local facilities. There is much to enjoy in Wells. We were initially concerned about parking (quite restricted in Wells), but you can stop outside to unload, and there is a car park really close by. We will definitely come again!

Green House wells

Very clean and comfortable cottage. Extremely well equipped kitchen. Great location, within short walking distance to the Cathedral, shops, cafes ,restaurants and supermarkets. The vases of flowers were beautiful and the wine and milk were appreciated. Would definitely recommend this property and would stay there again.

We had a brilliant weekend stay at this house. Would highly recommend to anyone. The owner’s communication was excellent. The house was very clean and well equipped. Step outside and you’re a minutes walk from the town centre of Wells, which is very picturesque. Tesco and Morrison’s are both close by for your shopping. Thank you to Liam, Kim and the town of Wells for a fantastic family break

Staying at this house, you can really experience what it feels like to live in historic Wells as it has great character and ambience. The garden is lovely to look out on and sit in. To be able to walk out of the door and reach the amenities in a minute is wonderful.
