My wife and I and our two dogs had the most wonderful time staying on sunset lake. The cabin was super clean and cozy. Hiking trails are minutes away and restaurants and shops are nearby. Best of all is the secluded and beautiful Sunset Lake.

Great stay on the lake

We had a great time with our 2 kids. The lake is beautiful and very clean. We enjoyed this rustic lake house and rented a kayak which I highly recommend doing. The outdoor shower was great and the kitchen had everything we needed. A new mattress for the double bed would be great however we loved our stay.

If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful location where you can unwind, recharge your batteries and restore your spirit: this is the place. The cabin is a seamless blend of lake country atmosphere with many modern conveniences. The scenery is amazing and the spacious screened-in porch is a highlight.

The Perfect Summer Getaway

Our family has the most enjoyable vacations staying at this very peaceful and rustic cottage on beautiful Sunset Lake. It is very clean and well maintained and we spend many hours on the screened in porch enjoying the view as well as swimming in the lake. The perfect vacation spot to relax and unwind while visiting the many nature trails and lakes region attractions.

Peaceful cottage on Sunset Lake

Paradise. Our family cherishes the opportunity to spend our August vacation at this lovely secluded cottage on beautiful Sunset Lake. We love to swim and kayak and especially enjoy the peace and quiet and the lakeside views from the large screened in porch. Hope to spend another week here next summer!

Wonderful week

We had a great stay. Sunset lake is so quiet and the cabin was just what we needed. We loved the outdoor shower and the screened in porch. The kitchen and grill were both great for cooking some great food through the week. The hosts were next door when we arrived but weren’t there through the week so it was very quiet and we felt like we had the whole area to ourselves.

Perfect quiet cove

The cabin is cozy and rustic. The yard and the cove is why we come back. Great views - loons and a baby we watched everyday. We had some rain one day but spent in on the screened porch playing games. The lake is crystal clear and has great fishing. We enjoyed a very quiet week. Limited boat traffic made our kayak fishing even better. This was our second year in this house and will be returning.

The cottage is beautifully rustic and the setting is pretty private. Screened front porch is awesome! But the host is the best part (this year). Many things beyond his control went wrong and he reached out quickly to make it right. I look forward to trying again next year!

Perfect! But the view 💙

I can’t say enough about this property. No sooner than we walked in and my grandson says Grammy this is where were staying and I said it sure is. He said oh my gosh we have to get this again next year. From the moment we walked in, we fell in love. The pros, Are the view (spectacular) the location, the place itself, rustic, comfortable , the screened in porch, the lake was pristine. The amenities were great fully supplied with all that you need. Loved the outdoor shower. Bedding and towels you do need to bring ! The hosts were very kind and gave us an early check in. Thank you so much for that . Now let me get to the cons - there aren’t any !!! This place was perfect ! Thank you for sharing your home with us ! Wonderful memories made 😃

A little surprised

We went on a long trip and stayed at 2 other locations prior to this one. We were surprised that after we booked this particular property we received notification that the property would not include bed sheets, towels, plates for all guests (even though they charged a fee for 6 guests and was advertised to have the ability of 6 guests), toilet paper, or trash bags. We have stayed in homes for several years since we travel with dogs and this was a first for us. It took up so much extra space to pack linens and towels in a vehicle we were all already crammed in. Most properties leave several extras, especially if they charge a fee for extra guests. I feel the place was overly priced and had too many fees for not providing any extras upon your stay. We didn’t know any of this until after we booked it as it had a no refund policy. The actual cottage was very hot depending on when you stay as there is no air conditioning. The cottage was cute. The lake is gorgeous! The sights are incredible and the town had a ton to do. Great location.

Wonderful stay!

Our family had a truly fantastic week-long vacation at the Sunset Lake cottage. The cabin is cozy, comfortable and well stocked. The porch with a net is a great place to sit back, read, drink morning coffee and hide from the rain while still enjoying the fresh air. The outside shower is kind of cool:) The host, Kevin was very helpful and always available via phone to answear our enquires. It was our first trip to New Hampshire and we'd planned to see as many tourist attractions as possible;however, we ended up spending most of our time at the Sunset Lake: sunbathing, swimming in clear water and barbecuing. The location is great: secluded, away from it all... you can really relax and forget about the rest of the world there:) If you want to go sightseeing the major attractions are within 45min-1.50h driving distance. We recommend visiting Castle in the Clouds, tubing on Saco River and My. Washington cog railway. If you have younger children it is worth taking a trip up north to Santa's Village, but arrive early as there is lots to do there and you can easily spend there an entire day. We mostly prepared our own food on the grill, but for a dining out experience we recommend The New Woodshed in Moultonborough (very nice ambiance). To sum things up, what we enjoyed the most about Kevin's cabin was the beautiful location, the fact that all the major attractions are within driving distance and that we could bring our dog along. We don't have any complains, our vacation was all and more what we were hoping for and we will definitely be back in the future! Thank you Kevin for having us:)

Spectacular lakefront cottage

This is the perfect vacation getaway for our family. A rustic cabin on peaceful and secluded Sunset lake with a large screened in porch where we can relax and take in the beautiful surroundings. We love it here and hope to return next summer!!! Kathy and Steve R.

Fantastic Property

O'Maley Lake Cottage

My husband and I, plus our two young adult children and our dogs just spent a week at the O'Maley cottage on Sunset Lake. It was a wonderful time. Mr. O'Maley was very welcoming when we arrived. The cottage is on a property which also has a year-round cottage where he and his family were staying for the weekend. He even took us on a tour of the lake via his pontoon boat before he left Monday morning to take his grandkids home. The lake is very clean, and there is a nice fire pit down on the lake beach which we used several of our nights. Though there is no air-conditioning, there are window fans in every room and the nights cooled down nicely (there were record temps the week we were there). My Samoyed dogs enjoyed hanging out on the screened in porch watching critters and catching the breeze. The view from the porch was beautiful and it was wonderful sitting out there in the morning drinking our coffee/tea. The kid room has two very sturdy bunk beds and my 6'+ kids did fine in them (they slept in the top bunks and put all there stuff on the bottoms). The only thing that was a little "different" was the outdoor shower. It's attached to the house down some steps and has an enclosure around it and a roof. The water heater is not very large so we did need to conserve hot water and space out shower schedules. Also, as a hold-over from COVID, we did need to bring our own linens, so you will want to enquire about the current policy. Any real vehicle traffic is pretty far away, so when we were hanging out down by the lake we were able to let our dogs off leash without worrying about traffic. The main living space had a large table for meals. The kitchen is small but everything worked fine. The TV had connections that my kids could hook up their games to when they wanted a touch of zone-out time, AND there was pretty good wi-fi which was a nice plus when trying to figure out where to go and what to do. I will say, if you have a regular GPS, you will do well to bring it since cell coverage can be spotty in the region, so Waze and Google Maps cannot be relied upon (we had two vehicles with us and though my son insisted his phone was all he needed, I insisted he take one of our GPSs, which was the only thing that worked for long stretches of our exploring . I highly recommend this property for a nice, relaxing family vacation.

Absolute paradise!

The pictures on the listing do not do it justice! The water was crystal clear and the steps into the water were perfect for swimming. We also loved kayaking in the lake and hearing the loons. The house was spacious and beautiful. The screened in porch was loved by all, especially Toby. I loved taking walks every morning with my dog on the dirt roads and all the neighbors couldn’t have been friendlier. One even gave me seeds from her beautiful flowers. Thank you Kevin and family for a perfect and very peaceful, relaxing vacation!

Relaxing at the lake

My sister, my two dogs and I stayed here and had the most relaxing week ever. We felt like we were the only ones on the lake it was so quiet and tranquil. The water is very clear and was not cold at all. The camp is located within an easy drive to Wolfeboro, Alton Bay, Weirs Beach for shopping or dining. We would highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a peaceful, relaxing stay. Kevin was a great host and responded quickly when we had a couple of questions.

We stayed a month at this property. Had a great time and enjoyed the place and area. Owner very friendly; went out golfing with him and got good restaurant recommendations too. Recommend!

Nice quit lake so peaceful, the area was nice for hiking. Wish there was a canoe to use. Overall would recommend.
