This is an ideal place to relax and enjoy peace, quiet and a sea view. The site was well laid out and about 10 minutes drive to Salcombe. The lodge was very well-equipped, spacious and comfortable, with the benefit of a balcony facing the sea. The host was helpful and responsive. We enjoyed our stay and the accessibility to several beautiful places in the wider area which offer plenty to do and see.

Very beautiful House with enough space for us and our three children. Everything was very uncomplicated and smooth. We enjoyed the house and landscape very much. The streets to get there are a competition but you get used to it. Nice Host, Thanks for the hospitality!

Lovely lodge in a great location

The lodge is very well equipped with lots of little extras like cooking oil, games, DVDs etc. The beds are very comfy and sleeps 5 people really well. The site is very quiet and has a kids play area. Easy to walk to East Soar and then to the coast path or to Overbeck Gardens & down to South Sands to catch the ferry to Salcombe.

Salcombe Retreat

We stayed in this location many years ago when it was a static caravan site. It has improved since then! The lodge is situated among similar buildings in a quiet, well maintained site. There is plenty of parking. (You need a vehicle, as Salcombe and other attractions are not within easy walking distance).The lodge is comfortable, well equipped and nicely situated, at the edge of the park with a partial sea view. We enjoyed our stay!

Family at Salcombe

We arrived to a sparkling clean and well equipped lodge and a bottle of wine was waiting for us. The beds were so comfortable and the site well kept and quiet and everyone seemed to respect everyone’s privacy. We walked our socks off from East Soar and Bolberry both nearby with good parking and absolute fantastic trails along the coastal path. Loved all the beaches that were nearby. We ate at some fine pubs and restaurants nearby in Salcombe and Hope Cove. Check in and communication with owner was excellent with a very helpful folder with information regarding the local area. I do not hesitate in recommending this lovely lodge in a beautiful part of South Devon.

Peaceful retreat close to coastal paths

Wonderful large lodge ideal for our family. Most relaxing time ever. The lodge had everything we needed, Beds were very comfortable with lovely soft linen and the site was remote and quiet but slightly out of season which suited us, can’t imagine getting too noisy though as good space and double glazed. Parking very good. Nice Soar Mill Cove hotel a short walk away for quality meals and spa facility. Soar mill cove is lovely for a private cool dip. We took advantage of Mike’s taxi to get us back from a beautiful coastal walk to Salcombe but missed out on Overbecks garden visit as closed on Friday and Saturday but will go back. Walk to Hope cove was also beautiful. In all could not fault anything lovely lodge. Would recommend.

September vacation

The property was in a lovely quiet position but did feel the shop should have been open whilst people were on site because of its location. When we arrived the sofa still had some sand on, there are cobwebs in bedroom windows and some kitchen utensils were not too clean. We really enjoyed our stay and felt totally relaxed whilst there. Would recommend.

Schöne Unterkunft in Süd Devon

Wir haben als Familie eine Woche Anfang August hier verbracht. Der Wohnbereich ist geräumig, die Schlafzimmer sind recht klein. Die Ausstattung des Hauses ist sehr gut. Alles ist gut in Schuss und funktioniert einwandfrei. Die Putzfrau hatte vor unserer Ankunft wohl leider einen schlechten Tag gehabt, aber das war nicht weiter schlimm. Eine Flasche Wein stand zur Begrüßung bereit - vielen Dank dafür. Die Lage ist sehr schön, man kann tolle Wanderungen und Ausflüge machen.Leider war das Wetter selbst für die Engländer, die wir trafen ziemlich schlecht.

10 Salcombe Retreat

+ accommodation + location + cosy + value + quiet + restful + playing field for children + would return + would recommend - needs deep clean - needs decluttering - needs a bit of t l c - bedding and towels / stayed two weeks only one set of sheets / towels (might be expected to wash the bedding we had, however, difficult to wash and dry at 5.5 hrs wash and dry cycle) particularly when weather is bad and line drying is not possible.

Great stay

We had a lovely stay and would thoroughly recommend. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and had everything you would need. Great walks down to the coast and a short drive to Salcombe.

Great location

Was very clean and had everything we needed, location was perfect for us for walking and fishing, didn’t get to use local shop but we were out of season. The only small negative was some of the doors close shut so either a magnet catch or something else would have been useful. Tv was good and had plenty of choice.

Well appointed and great setup for a group

We really enjoyed our stay in the lodge - we didn't ever have the feeling that we were missing anything. The beds were all very comfortable and all the appliances and fittings worked just as they should. We especially loved the big sofa with the view where we could all gather together to relax. All in all, the property helped to make the holiday easy and stress free.

We really enjoyed the peaceful serenity of this site, the fabulous sea views from our balcony, the generous living space and cosy fire, and the proximity to the lovely coastal walks. Our boys made friends with other children at the Salcombe Retreat and spent many hours up at the adventure playground. A real haven of relaxation for us all. We shall return!

Soar mill number 10

After several hiccups with your company in the first place, Phillip the owner rang me and sorted it out. His property is very good, everything was there and we had a comfortable stay.

We bought this property because of our love of the South Hams area. Having dived this coastline for over 20 years and visiting throughout the Spring & Summer months we understood the value of the peace and tranquillity that this location provides and with Salcombe with its attractions and hustle and bustle only 10 minutes away.

この宿泊施設の特徴

Our lodge has stunning views over National Trust headlands to the south and to the sea in the west and a large secluded grass area to the side.
The South West coastal path is only a short walk as is Soar Mill Cove itself. It really being the hidden treasure of the location. When the other beaches in the area are packed, Soar Mill Cove won’t be. Here you will find clean sand, brilliant for sandcastle making, safe swimming for children,rock pools and streams to explore and all in walking distance from our lodge.
