I apologize about the length of this review, but read it all if u want to know details.
First the bad: 1 star removed right off the top…. TRAFFIC NOISE! There is a 4 lane highway directly in front. If u live in a city, then u MAY be used to it. Closing all the windows cuts it by half. Bedroom window faces the road, so not great. Traffic noise even drowns out the local roosters! Sitting in the pool area, again the traffic noise dominates. 300 m from the road, out on the beach where it slopes down to the water, the ocean sound take over.
In the vrbo add, Condo balcony photos show a decent view of the beach and ocean. The only beach/ocean view now is when U stand on the extreme left side of the balcony. The rest is now blocked by palm fronds of 2 closest trees. Guessing photos are a bit dated, and fish eye lens used.
Initial condo inspection: One cabinet was missing its pull knob (knob was sitting on counter with stripped threads), another cabinet door had a detached hinge (I was able to fix both cause I’m handy like that) Dishwasher had a moldy cookie sheet inside, dinning table light is missing it’s glass globe, window behind sofa jams due to bottom roller wheels corroded and seized (swap them for the wheels on the top)
Ref Dec 2022 review. Most of those issues were corrected except for toilet paper. There was only 1 “single” (ie not a double roll), and no spare in the bathroom. We later found a stash in a bedroom closet behind the door. I don’t expect enough TP to last a month, but a couple of double rolls is the standard these days at any hotel/resort.
Now the good: condo is bright, not cluttered/minimalistic decor, decent appliances (dishwasher pump making a funny noise when running), king bed with good mattress, ok pillows, fans and A/C all function with minimal noise ( they actually help cover a “bit” of traffic noise). Lots of closet space and hangers, ample floor space in bedroom even with the king bed. Beach chairs, blankets, and pool towels included. Clean pools, and grounds. Beach umbrella would have been a nice addition to beach chairs. Also .. remove the front balcony chairs and table. Hazardous getting luggage and groceries by them, especially since one of the chairs is touching the glass to bedroom window. The small resort gym is good enough (legs machines suck) and the Gringo Hill hike was a great stairmaster workout ……plus vantage point for photos.
