We were excited to be back at these cottages for the second summer in a row, having stayed in Cottage #3 last year (when it was through a different owner/rental group). We were really sad to hear about the fire, but thankful that Cottage #4 was available for our dates. #4 was fine for us (2 adults, 2 kids), though as others have said, it is a bit dated. Nothing luxurious, but you can't beat the location and private swimming dock!
Perhaps with the fire/work on the other cottages, a few things at this cottage were missed. The cottage was clean enough, but perhaps not thoroughly recently--there were noticeable cobwebs in a few indoor areas. Not a huge deal, but we just happened to have a very curious, crawling 1-year old so we were on the floor and corners a lot. The pre-arrival welcome packet also mentioned being stocked with basic condiments but we didn't find any (no salt, pepper or oil) which was a little bit of a bummer but we made do with what we brought. Just wanted to note that in case anyone is planning to cook.
Overall, we were pleased with our stay and as my husband pointed out, the small "negatives" noted above are far outweighed by having access to the river so conveniently! We loved being in the water each day, and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how Cottages #2 and #3 are re-done and updated as I'm sure we will be back in the future!
