Wonderful Getaway

A very relaxing vacation on a quiet and beautiful lake. The fishing was amazing, and the house had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend this property to others wanting a peaceful vacation with a location directly on the water.

Annual Winter Family Vacation

First - I marked “communication with property owner as a “3” not “5”, only because everything at the rental went smooth with the advance instructions provided and we never had another contact because we had no other needs. Our family believes in creating memories and we rented a lot. This experience was great and we never had to initiate any further contact My wife, and our 3 children, their spouse and our six grandchildren, plus our year old puppy, Mattie, ALL HAD A GREAT 3DAY MLK WINTER WEEKEND VACATION! All 4 families are from the Indianapolis area, about 2-3 hours away. The house was more like a home than a rental, with all of the details cared for and provided. We enjoyed hours of family fun and laughter playing games, watching movies & some football (it was a playoff weekend). We also, tobogganed at near by Pokagon SP and ice skated at near by Trine College (they have an amazing facility open to the public on Sundays). Everyone had a great time and we have new memories that will be with us forever! We’ d absolutely come back to this Home away from home.

Good lake view

The house was clean and had plenty of room for all of us. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pans, etc. Beds were very comfortable. One item that needs attention is there were several light bulbs that were burned out. This really should be checked after every booking. The yard by the lake could use a little attention also.

Great vacation house

Our family enjoyed this house for the second time. Great view of third basin looking out from large deck. Master bedroom with large closet and bathroom was great, also 4 other bedrooms. The kitchen and dining area was very nice and equipped good. Games, ping pong and large tv was enjoyed by all.

This is the second Time we have stayed at this property and we enjoyed it just as much this time as the first time. The house is perfect for a large family and the lake is beautiful and not too crowded. We will be back!!

2024 Family Vacation

The house was very well supplied. Location is perfect for being on the lake. Absolutely a stunning view. Fishing was great the entire week. Lots of bass bluegill and walleye. A lot of good food places close by. Would highly recommend and will probably look into coming back.

Great view from the beautiful deck.

Our family came together from 3 states to celebrate our daughter as she graduated with her doctorate from Trine. The house was very spacious. The new deck was spectacular and perfect for the luncheon we had for family. The description said 4 full baths and showed a shower in all 4, but the main floor bathroom was actually only a half bath. Someone painted and left small paint puddles all over the kitchen tile and refrigerator. I scraped them off of the floor with a spatula. Someone sanded in the master bathroom and left the sanding pile in the corner without cleaning up. The kitchen cupboards could use a deep clean, food has been spilled and not wiped off. The bar in the basement was very nice, even better if there was a refrigerator down there. A few family members thought the mattresses were hard, I suppose that’s a matter of preference. I thought the master bedroom mattress was nice and comfortable. There were lots of great appliances in the kitchen as well as a good variety of pans, dishes, and serving bowls utensils and platters. Anything we needed, they had. We brought 4 gallons of our own water for coffee and drinking as suggested. Water was fine to shower in. We have well water, so we are familiar with that aspect. Overall, we were very happy with our stay. There was a lot of room to spread out in the house.

Wonderful stay at Lake House

The house was very appropriate for a group of 13. We held a Young Adults winter retreat at the house. There were plenty of bathrooms and two living areas (main floor and basement) large enough for our entire group to meet together. Also a great location to go to Pokagon State Park to hike and ride the Toboggan.

Back Home Again in (NE) Indiana

Our overall stay was fantastic. Crooked Lake provided a beautiful background for our family adventure. The lake house was plenty large enough for our eight adults and two younger children. The kitchen was beautifully equipped and met the needs of the professional chef in our party. We received permission to host a larger gathering of my siblings and there was plenty of room. There was a lot to do in the area ranging from tobogganing at nearby Pokagon State Park, shopping at Shipshewana and then to see the Auburns, Cords and Deusenbergers at the Museum in Auburn. Really a wonderful place to spend a few days.

Perfect lake house for a family or group

We all know the drill-you look at the photos on VRBO and hope that you’ve made the right decision. You have no worries with this home on Crooked Lake! It is just as pictured in the photos. The home definitely has a lived in feel, making us feel right at home with our 8 pound dog accompanying me and my small family on this trip. Plenty of space to spread out, and perfect placement with stairs leading to the lake. Many places to rent boats and kayaks close by, with delivery as an option. Also loved the small downtown of Angola, with specialty shops and even a vegan brunch spot. Don’t hesitate to stay here!

Lakefront Escape

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. There are PLENTY of bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas for both adults and children to be comfortable. The hosts were very accommodating with some date changes and went above and beyond to help us secure this house. If you're looking for a lake house getaway, look no further!

Lake Week

Excellent location as we enjoyed being outside and on the lake. Great neighborhood. Had hoped to use house to sleep 15 on some days but that was not really possible. Did have everything else that we needed.

Perfect family reunion getaway

We had multiple generations of our family meet up at the Crooked lane lake house from Chicago, maryland, and Virginia during the kids’ spring break week. It was the perfect set up for what we intended - lots of cooking, grilling, kayaking, and just enjoying the lake and one another. Plenty of pots/pans/utensils/serving ware . The sunsets were gorgeous. We didn’t explore the area much because everything we needed was at the house, good company, good food, games, and a beautiful lake. The property was well kept and clean (very important for us), and had plenty of spaces to relax. Lots of use of the ping pong table too. Wifi was perfect for the kids who all brought laptops to play Minecraft and for us to stream movies at night. We took a few visits to Walmart (within 10 min drive) for some forgotten toiletries as well as drinking water. We bought a lot of drinking water for cooking, coffee, etc since the water is a bit hard and metallic tasting. Not a big deal though. Thank you so much for providing such a wonderful cozy place for us to continue building precious memories!
