We were very disappointed with the condition of the pool. As explained to the Host, the "flappers" at the skimmers were missing (pool man said broken because of people jumping in the pool!) and there was hardly any suction in the skimmer. There were a lot of leaves in the pool during our first week. (Gardener needed to remove dead branches and leaves from trees and bushes - all looked unkempt). When the pool was running leaves would typically float past the skimmer as no suction to draw them in. If one did, when the pool stopped running it would just float back out again! The usual dirt/pollen/dust etc. you typically find on the surface of a pool was never removed because of the total inefficiency of the pool set-up. Very disappointing.The headrests on the main sofa in the lounge were broken which made watching TV extremely uncomfortable. I notified the Host of a protruding nail - pointed end - on the sofa arm, on which fortunately neither of us cut our arms. I told the Host I had covered the nail end with padding and to repair this after we left.Thank you to Helena for providing a teapot. A pizza tray and cutter would have been useful and some SHARP knives. The maid service was excellent and greatly appreciated.
