Great choice!

Property was exactly as described. Except they did not have a dryer which was listed. Loved the location and it had everything we needed and more for our family including grandparents and teens.

Great apartment in Madrid.

We had a wonderful stay in this great apartment. It’s really well set up and had most of everything we needed. Very comfortable. My only issue is that the kitchen was missing a few staples like basic seasonings, knives, even a spatula… for anyone wanting to cook for a night or two, it makes doing that a little harder. But we managed.

This apartment has a long design. Lots of space between front bed room and back bedroom. 2 separate sitting areas as kitchen has a small sitting area. No air-conditioning in front bed room so that was a little warm.

Charming neighborhood

What we liked: The apartment was in a residential area north of the busy tourist area of Madrid, but still within walking distance. There was a restaurant across the street (La Musa) where we had dinner one evening and breakfast one morning, and a great brunch spot at the end of the block (EatMyTrip), which was super convenient — we didn’t have to cook at all. What we think the hosts could improve upon: The small bedroom near the kitchen did not have good air flow, and it was difficult for me to sleep. We requested a top sheet for the bed (not used to not having one) and responsiveness to our request was slow. There was construction going on in the adjacent apartment during the day (up until about 7:30pm) which I know the hosts have no control over, but it made it difficult to rest on our first day as we were on the plane overnight and were completely exhausted. This is likely a short-term issue but one to be aware if your planned stay is near term.

Bare Bones

First, the good news – excellent location, close to transit, clean and spacious. Half the space was air-conditioned. Half was not. No basic condiments whatsoever – no salt, pepper, starter coffee, sweeteners, nothing. Locks were finicky and even though we followed the advice we were given when we first arrived (to not lock the doors behind us) for three nights in a row, we spent 10 minutes plus in the hallway, trying to finess the locks so as to access the apartment. Our text messages to the hostess resulted in one (1) sad-face emojee 😔. No call back. No text instructions - nothing but a sad face emojee. If you are used to queen sized beds, the soft, full-size beds can make for a less-than-comfortable night’s sleep for two. We are assuming that the total lack of responsiveness on the part of the hostess was a result of her feeling under the weather or otherwise seriously distracted. We hope things seriously improve for her.
