The view from the dining table on the terrace is absolutely stunning, a near religious experience. This is a very elegant, old world villa with updates. The pool was fantastic. Privacy was great. The place did feel like it had a soul. The hosts are wonderful and we very much enjoyed our stay with our family.

The property is lovely both inside and outside! It’s well thought out, furnished beautifully and caters for your every need. The check-in and out procedure was simple and efficient and it was good to have Emma on-hand to help when needed. The pool area is very private and quiet, with the pool house providing useful shade and drinks fridge. The views are stunning, even more so in the evenings and we enjoyed the end of year fireworks display in Cannes sat on the balcony with a glass of wine. Highly recommend!

One Month in Moughins

We spent a month staying at Villa Oleander and the experience was wonderful and everything that was advertised. Dealing with the owner and property manager was excellent. The villa is located in a fantastic area with great views of the old town of Mougins. I would highly recommend booking Villa Oleander if you plan a trip to the South of France.

The villa is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. Best view of Mougins. The fenced in property has everything you need. Alastair was a perfect host —reachable at all times and the book of local suggestions and restaurants was a great help!

A perfect Gem

We had the most amazing couple of days at the Villa, we didn't really feel the need to leave because it had everything there ..the pool, games room, table tennis even yoga mats. We did explore a little bit during our short stay there , we had a lovely walk in a beautiful park and we did dine out at the georgous little town Mougins well worth a visit , we will definitely be staying again for longer next time !

Wonderful again!

We last stayed at Villa Oleander 2 years ago and we were very excited to be coming back. As before, the garden and pool area beautifully maintained - but I must congratulate the owners on the interior “makeover” which is gorgeous. Lots of little extra touches that make the difference and Emma, the new manager, is a real find as well. Villa Oleander has all the comforts of “home” but set up very much with guests in mind. Dinner at Paloma was a highlight.

A Blissful Two-Week Retreat at Villa Oleander

Our time at the villa was truly unforgettable. The picturesque surroundings and the overall comfort of the villa made our stay exceptional. The villa's interior was cozy and tastefully decorated, providing a warm and inviting atmosphere. The outdoor area was equally impressive, and we spent countless hours by the pool and enjoying the stunning garden. Our teenagers, enjoyed their time immensely, and they wanted to make sure to highlight the playroom:) During our stay we found ourselves spending a significant amount of time in the kitchen. Whether it was preparing breakfests or dinners with fresh, local ingredients, or simply enjoying a glass of wine while chatting and cooking together, the kitchen played a central role in our daily activities. It truly enhanced our overall experience and added an extra layer of warmth to our stay. We were also pleasantly surprised by the thoughtful welcome gifts that awaited us upon our arrival. It was a lovely touch that made us feel instantly at home.

A perfect spot to explore Côte d'Azur

This villa is a great little gem tucked into the hills with a beautiful view of Mougins and the sea. The house was perfect for 2 couples, there is a 3rd bedroom, but it's quite small. Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, so it is definitely possible to fit 3 couples, it just may be a little tighter. The view from the master and 1st floor bedrooms were stunning, and overlooked the pool and garden. The neighborhood where this villa is situated is very high-end, with large, gated villas surrounding the property. We enjoyed sitting by the pool almost every night with our wine and cheese after long days of exploring the beautiful French countryside and coast. The owners of this villa are exceptionally responsive, which is hard to find with VRBO sometimes, and answered every question we had prior to booking. Emma, the villa manager, was outstanding both before and during our trip. She helped arrange day trips and gave us a ton of restaurant ideas, all of which turned out to be amazing. I cannot say anything negative about this villa, except that the WiFi is really not good, so if you hope to do any work during your vacation you may have a really difficult time. We traveled from the US and did need to connect for business purposes which was nearly impossible. However, if you are truly looking to get away and not be worried about work during your holiday, you may consider this to be a blessing! For us, a stronger connection would have been helpful. Overall, fabulous!

Thank you Meghan for such a “fabulous” review! Sorry to hear about your WiFi issues- it’s a shame that you didn’t tell Emma at the time, there was an easy fix. (Mougins finally received fibre broadband 🎉 two years ago and the last time I did a speed check, we recorded 261 Mbps). And yes, we know we are fortunate to be in one of the most sought after neighbourhoods on the French Riviera - there are some famous people behind those grand gates….but we have the best view ;-) Alastair, Sue, Paul and Leony

Location, Location, location

We stayed with family and friends at the fantastic Villa Oleander in July 2013; it was our third stay so I guess that sums up exactly what we feel about the place! Villa Oleander just gets better and better each year, the gardens are beautiful and are lovingly maintained, the Villa itself is constantly being updated and we love all the little extra touches such as dressing gowns, information re the area etc, the owners haven’t just bought a villa in the south of France to rent out to make money, you can see it is a definite passion for them. After holidaying in the South of France for many years now, we can honestly say you will be extremely hard pressed to find a villa with such a fantastic location, it is on the door step to Mougins old village with all its fabulous restaurants and art shops, a short drive into Cannes and Antibes, and also an easy commute of under 30 mins to Nice, St Tropez, Grasse, and the pretty villages of Eze and St Paul de Vence. The actual positioning of the villa cannot be beaten; you are in a private quiet area with amazing views towards Mougins and the bay of Cannes in the distance. We spent many a balmy evening eating alfresco watching the firework displays of both Cannes and Mougins. Local amenities are great, there is a supermarket a short 5 minute drive away, bakers, pharmacy etc just 2 minutes drive or 10 minute walk away and then for a lovely family lunch and mooch about there is the very English village of Valbonne, we loved the little shops and boutiques there. Claire and her team make arrival and anything during your stay extra easy, we had our 5 year old son with us and he was well catered for with regards little people’s needs, I cannot say how fantastic the games room addition is both for parents and children, he spent , many an afternoon playing in there. Villa Oleander is a special place, fantastic location, superb interior including beds, linens, fully equipped kitchen, SKY TV etc and an equally amazing exterior. We love the place so much that we have now booked our fourth stay there next year; I really think that anyone would struggle to find a 5 star villa of equal standard.

Thanks Eve. Lovely words and glad you like the new games room. It means a lot to hear our efforts have been noticed and inspires us to do much more! It is so rewarding when we take a repeat booking - when we can't be there ourselves, we take pleasure from knowing others are in Mougins enjoying our villa as much as we do. Have a great summer 2014!

It was a great place! Especially the pool, the beautiful deck view and dining room and the upstairs master bedroom was stunning. I loved hanging in the bedroom reading with the gorgeous view and the wind blowing through the room so I didn't have to use the AC but it was nice using the AC on very hot days especially to sleep. The landscaping is stunning and so many places to hide! Plus I did yoga daily on the deck and they provided great weights for my workout. The house manager and the owner were very clear, kind and helpful. I will rent again because its so beautiful. The only downside is the living room, kitchen and TV are small but your always outside because the deck is so lovely and they have great sturdy unbrellas to hide the sun! I highly recommend staying at this place!

Great option for a high-quality family stay in southern France

Great location in the upper hills north of Cannes. Splendid views towards the old town of Mougins and the Mediterranean sea, especially from the balcony, which served as main breakfast and dinner location for us. A very well maintained holiday home for up to six people, fully equipped and featuring a nice swimming pool (our kids' and grandparents' most favorite place), a terrain de petanque (everybody's second favorite place), an open air lounge terrace under a palm tree and a billard table inside the house. A car/motorbike should be rented to get the most out of this place, from which many really cool places of interest are within easy reach for those who like to drive through a lovely hilly countryside. Special mentioning is deserved with regard to the managing agency (Emma) and the cleaning lady, who are first class.

Beautiful Villa very close to Mougins old town

Villa Oleander is a lovely villa close to Mougins in a nice neighbourhood. For us, it was not walking distance to the old town in the August heat with the hills, but it is an easy two minute drive by car (and there is a large, free car park as you enter the old town so never any parking issues) and if you don't wish to drive then Uber taxis are readily available. The villa, pool and garden are all immaculately maintained and fully equipped with everything you could need including the small touches you would find in a hotel, like robes and slippers. There is a welcome pack on arrival of all essentials like milk, butter, juice etc. The villa is also well stocked with items such as washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs, kitchen roll and so on. There are several supermarkets in the area and a nice bakery a very short distance away. Emma, the property manager is lovely to deal with and will respond to any query or request extremely efficiently and quickly. She will happily give recommendations and advice on shopping, restaurants, etc. All in all, the villa is exactly the same as the photos and description and has an amazing view of the old town from the terrace, living area and two of the bedrooms. A great find which we would recommend and stay in again!

The villa was gorgeous and certainly lived up to our expectations. The gardens and pool were beautiful, and we spent most afternoons lounging around it. The view over the old town of Mougins was spectacular whether eating breakfast or dinner. Numerous recommendations for restaurants and things to do nicely collated in the information pack. We can't recommend this property highly enough, and hope to return one day.

beautiful property

This house is in a great position, very close to the old town of Mougins - a 2 minute drive (We thought we might try walking, but the lack of pavements and driving style of the locals, put us off that idea after the first attempt!). The house is immaculate and so are the beautiful grounds, Emma is excellent support and very responsive, and we also want to call out the hard work of Christal (apologies, not sure of spelling) who came to clean twice a week. The view of Mougins old town is amazing, and you also have a view of the sea. There are many wonderful restaurants in Mougins, we particularly liked sitting on the terrace at L'Amandier. We have previously stayed in Cannes and Chateauneuf, and would describe this place as somewhere between the busy of Cannes and the peace and quiet of Chateauneuf. Thank you for the opportunity of staying in this beautiful house.

.....11 years of doing the walk and they still haven’t got me yet! It’s great for working off the calories from those fabulous restaurants!! Thanks Jayne for your kind comments - I will pass them on to Emma and Christelle, they will appreciate the recognition I’m sure. Mougins is indeed wonderful and I could easily make a case for Villa Oleander having THE best location in the Côte d’Azur! Alastair, Sue, Paul and Leony

Absolutely stunning retreat!

Wonderfully appointed villa retreat. Emma, the property manager, greeted us and helped us settle into the property after a chaotic and delayed day of travel. The villa and grounds are beautiful and private. It was a wonderful escape! A group of 7 of us, we found that there was enough space for alone time but enough room for us to gather together. The pool was perfect. It was the perfect spot from which to explore Mougins and all the Côte d’Azur has to offer. Everything was clean and well appointed. The owners were wonderful to work with. We highly recommend this villa and look forward to a return visit!

A quality villa in an idyllic location.

We were returning guest to this beautiful villa. As a small group of very fussy travellers we were pleased to see that Villa Oleander continues to impress. Beautifully maintained pool and gardens and a view from the terrace across to Moujin that is unmatched in the area. Serenity within easy reach of some of the most noted restaurants in the area. You may not want to leave! We will certainly return.

Great location and awsome view

The listing and photos were very accurate, but nothing can do justice to the view across the valley except being there. The house is very nice with a magical MBR with French doors in 2 directions. The house is also very well located near with easy access to Cannes and to the north. Dinner on the terrace off the LR/kitchen is worth the trip alone. The owners and local management made everything easy. Highly recommended.

Thanks Jeremy, glad you enjoyed Villa Oleander so much. I try hard with the photos but you're right, you have to be there to appreciate "the best view in Mougins". The best I've been able to do is with the video which I've just updated (scroll along past the last photo at the top of the listing). Alastair, Sue, Paul and Leony

Hi! I`m Alastair. My wife, Sue, and I bought Villa Oleander in Mougins with Paul and his wife, Leony, in 2007. I have known Paul since I was 4 years old, and he and I manage all the issues involved in renting our villa out to others. I am a chartered accountant and he is a general dental practitioner.

We wanted to find a location and villa that we would never tire of revisiting. That location had to be the South of France because of its year round appeal - there is so much more to do than just sunbathe. Mougins, I think, has the perfect location on the Riviera - centrally placed for Monaco, Cannes, St Tropez and everywhere in between. Our villa feels like it is in the heart of Provence, yet it is only 10 minutes from the Med and 20 minutes from Nice International Airport. Oh, and it just happens to have a picture perfect medieval village famed for its excellent restaurants! Not to mention the golf courses!

この宿泊施設の特徴

Equally, Villa Oleander has the perfect position in Mougins. It is within easy walking distance of the Old Village yet perched up to have the perfect view over the village with the Mediterranean Sea in the background and the Esterel mountains to the west. All the main rooms open to this south facing view, and there is nothing quite like watching the sun going down and the village light up at night whilst drinking a glass of wine on the balcony. I will gladly email a panoramic picture of our view - it really is exceptional! We are very proud of our villa and love to stay there with our families, but take pleasure from the fact that when we can`t be there, others are enjoying it too. I am more than happy to chat with anyone who thinks they may be interested in staying there.
