Entire apartment 1 bed room 484sq ft² (45m²), 3rd floor (US standard), no lift, in a charming and ancient building of 18th century, luminous, sunny, 3 windows overlooking a large, private and quiet courtyard

Very central location, in the heart of historical Montorgueil street, pedestrian and very lively district (café, restaurants) with many shopkeepers (bakeries, cheesemongers, market-garden)

Brand new apartment completely renovated with an architect in november 2012

Decoration mixing typical Parisian style (genuine exposed wood beams, wooden floor) and modern style. Entrance, large kitchen completely equipped, wide living room with dining area, 1 bedroom with queen size bed, bathroom with a large shower italian style, individual restrooms, many closets, heaters in each room,1 comfortable pull out sofa bed in the living room

Amenities: fully equipped apartment with Wifi internet, flat screen TV and international channels, kitchen with all equipments (fridge, microwave, oven, stove, toaster, kettle, coffee machine), laundry machine, iron, iron table, hair dryer.

Shuttle direct access to the apartment from international airports (30mn + 10mn walk). 10mn from Eurostar train station (Gare du Nord) with metro. Metro station, bus, taxi in front of the apartment.

Stairway to Breathlessness

The Montorgueil apartment is very nice. However, there is no elevator and those stairs are a challenge. Perhaps you should mention that this is not a rental for older people. There are two sets of spiral, wooden, slippery stairs; imagine trying to carry suitcases up and down; very difficult. The interior is nice. However, there is no air-conditioning; the two fans work well in the morning and at night; middle of day is not so pleasant. The TV works well for about 15 minutes; then, you get a message about "rechauffe" which means something is heating up; and, it cuts off. All in all, our visit was OK, but I would not recommend it unless you are very physically fit.

Relaxing stay and wonderful communication

We had such a nice stay in Jean-François’s apartment. It's in a wonderful location, on a market street and very close to multiple metro stations, bakery and grocery stores. The apartment was tidy and felt very secure. There are two lock gates before you get the the apartment door. I was pleasantly surprised with how quiet it was in the apartment as we didn't hear any of the street noise and made for peaceful night sleeps. The walk up to the second floor has "old world charm" that we loved and when we took a look up when climbing the spiral stairs we were very glad to be on the second floor (easy access for anyone without mobility issues). I was most impressed with Jean-François’s communication through out the whole process. Very prompt reply's and friendly and clear instructions. An information booklet explaining everything we needed to know was in the apartment, including information for a English speaking Doctor, local restaurants and cab company should we need one. Out of all my travel rental stays, this rental was the best with easy communication and professionalism. 5 Stars from us!

What a great place for a Paris visit!

We loved our stay here! It’s clear that caring for this apartment and guests is not an extra activity for the proprietor. Jean-François works to make sure everything is up to a high standard. He communicates clearly and provided great instructions for arrival, check-in, and departure. We would absolutely stay here again. Here are some specific notes from our experience. Location So, let’s be honest, everyone who has visited Paris has their favorite location. We have stayed in six different arrondissements over the years. This location is fantastic! Yes, it’s touristy, for sure, but rather international. What’s great is that it’s lively and friendly. There is a grocery store right next door and a metro stop about 50 feet out the front door of the building. Up and down this street (which is a continuation of rue Montorgueil) are endless cafés, restaurants, patisseries, take-away food stores, and other commerce. It’s a blast. And Les Halles, a huge, newly-re-done shopping center is at the other end of the street, about a 10-minute leisurely walk. Also at that end of the street is one of the largest subway stations in Europe: Châtelet-Les Halles, where 5 metro lines and 3 RER lines converge. You can get anywhere in the city from there quickly and easily. Sleeping The queen size bed was comfortable. We both slept well. There is a sofa sleeper in the living room. It was squeaky when we sat on the sofa. I don’t think we would have wanted to sleep on it, but kids probably wouldn’t care a bit. The bedroom has blackout curtains on the window which we loved. Kitchen The small corner kitchen is lovely. It’s not set up for full-on cooking, but it works great for keeping and assembling breakfasts and lunches. With so many adjacent options, why would one want to cook anyway? Other The wifi is fantastic. One can easily have several streaming or working computers connected at once. It’s better than any internet connection we could get at our home in the U.S. There are two fans that worked fine to keep the temperature comfortable for us. The clothes washer worked great, and the drying rack was perfect.

Wonderful Parisian apartment

This apartment in a classic Parisian building was beautifully renovated, clean, spacious, well supplied, really lovely, and located on an absolutely charming pedestrian-only street full of great shops, restaurants, and patisseries. Jean-Francois was a most accommodating host and provided prompt, thorough responses, including clear directions and a very useful “welcome book” with tips about restaurants, transportation, and anything else you might need! Highly recommend.

Fabulous location

Loved our stay in this wonderful well appointed apartment just off the rue des Petits Carreaux/Montorgueil. Amazing location, close to everything and the street is abuzz with great shops and restaurants. The apartment is clean and well equipped. The bed amazingly comfortable. It is off a courtyard so very quiet. Slept sooo well. Would definitely stay here again. It is second floor with no elevator. The stairs are manageable if you’re in reasonable shape. No problem for us in our mid60s. Owner was very responsive to our initial questions.

Quiet, secure property well located at end of one of the main 'foodie' streets of Paris. Metro station/ small supermarket just outside front door, 10 minutes walk from Les Halles and a few minutes more to the Seine. Would recommend.

Really located in the heart of Paris. Was very easy to get all round the city using the RATP passes. We were a family of four, always going in the street to get breakfast on the morning. Convenient street with many restaurants and groceries. Walking distance to the Louvres, Notre-Dame, Les plages and more. Recommand the place to everybody

Location is amazing, very convenient check-in

The location near the Les Halles metro/RER stop and the Les Halles park was really great for our family of three (two adults plus a 7-year-old). Rue Montorgueil has everything you could need during a stay--restaurants, boulangeries, fruit/vegetable markets, convenience stores. We walked to everywhere from this location that we wanted to go. The apartment is clean and modern, and there is a very clear and helpful guide to both the apartment and the area. There are also numerous travel guides to Paris and France more generally on the bookshelf. The windows of the apartment face a quiet courtyard.

Phenomenal location

Phenomenal location! Able to walk to all major sites. Windows opened to courtyard so quiet at night despite location on street with numerous cafes and bars. Enjoyed the patisseries nearby for breakfast. Very clean. Host gave explicit easy check-in directions. The washer was helpful. Description accurate and does require taking stairs to second floor. Would stay again!

Family vacation with teens

We had a great stay in Paris. The apt location was superb and just perfect for our family of 4 (2 teens). We felt very secure, had everything we needed right out the door, so convenient to the metro and overall a great choice.

We were a party of 3 and the apartment was perfect for our 6-day stay. Very convenient central location, easy access, immaculately detailed instructions provided by the host as well informational support when needed. The narrow staircase added an exotic flair to living in an ancient building allowing for a complete old Paris immersion. Highly recommend!

Very nice stay

The apartment was very nice and owner was very accommodating. Bed was comfortable but the pull out sofa bed was just ok according to my daughter. Beware the small stairs leading up. No elevator so may be a challenge with luggage for some. The apartment suited our needs for our short stay.

A gem in a perfect location

This apartment is perfectly located to see everything you would like to see in Paris. It was bigger than what I had thought it would be. Nicely updated in an older building and a well thought out space. Jean Francois probably has the best laid out guest information book I have ever seen and his instructions to access the apartment were simple.

beautiful apartment finished with elegant and functional care. Very comfortable beds, excellent air conditioning, a real strategic place to visit the city. The area below is full of shops and bistros but not chaotic. Very attentive and helpful host.

Correspond à la description

Emplacement idéal: Quartier dynamique, métro juste à côté , appartement bien équipé et propre . J ai apprécié aussi qu’il y est un kit nettoyage vaisselle. Pas de bruit dans l appartement car il donne côté cour . Seul point à améliorer : le matelas du canapé lit est très inconfortable car très mince ( on dort presque sur les ressorts ! ) . Nous avons passé un agréable séjour 😁
