Perfect Spot

Everything that was on the website was accurate and actually seeing it’s location was wonderful!!! The hosts were so helpful and friendly!! They are very eco minded, which we appreciated and admired! Will tell friends about this place and hope to come back and stay one day!

Small, and full of flies

The host will insist that she is so fervently in love of all things natural that her listing is open and honest about the fact that this space is full of flies. Of course, that's a lie. Who would book a place for vacation that is swarming with flies at all hours of the day? How would you enjoy your morning coffee with flies buzzing all around you? No, there's no way that this would be advertised, so I'm telling you now. This place is infested with flies. And, it's really a very small space, with no truly comfortable space to be, other than the bed. The couch is tiny and uncomfortable. The chairs are hard, and excessively upright. This listing would surely be nicer in the summer, when there is lots of warm sunlight, and it's easy to have the windows open and to sit out on the patio. But, in the winter it's cramped and claustrophobic. The woodturning stove is in the bedroom, which makes your sleeping area too warm, while the other room remains cold. And, despite her claims of loving nature, the kitchen reeks of strong cleaning chemicals, which, along with the flies, will make you want to get away as soon as possible. We booked for 3 nights (the minimum) and only lasted two. For just 10 euros a night more, we are now in a huge two bedroom, two bathroom house, overlooking the sea. In other words, this place is not a good deal. Book elsewhere.

Sehr schöner Platz für einen Trip auf die Azoren

Es sehr liebevoll und naturnah gestaltetes Anwesen, direkt am Meer. Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und unkompliziert. Wir können die Unterkunft absolut weiterempfehlen.

Super clean, quiet, well equipped little cottage !

Cottage was in superb location. We could hear the surf at night thru large screened windows. Literally a 3 minute walk across the very quiet street to a saltwater lagoon. Loved the location for hiking trails a short drive away and ocean swimming. Kitchen was well equipped. We were greeted with wine and chocolate and 2 very sweet little quiet dogs who joined us for a champagne toast at one of the picnic tables across the way overlooking a breathtaking ocean at sunset. The host was very helpful with a keen knowledge of restaurants and how to buy fresh fish down at the dock.

Great November stay.

Excellent place to stay. Tania was a great host. The place was clean and had the essentials. The pools across the street were a great place to watch the waves. Was here in November so some of the restaurants were not open so we had to go further for restaurants. Overall we would do this again.

Our family has moved here from New Zealand and we've been renovating and improving this property in order to live a simple life, growing our own food and raising our children in close contact with nature. Douglas enjoys surfing and fishing, and he's done the majority of the carpentry work in the property (we only use local sourced timber). Tania loves gardening and everything related to self reliance and sustainability. Our son Sansho is passionate about insects and all animals in general, as well as swimming and fishing. Our twins girls Jade and Jasmim, born in the island, really enjoy the rock pools across the road, on nice sunny days.
In the effort of minimising our environmental impact, we have an ecological hot water system, low consumption lighting, water savers and we encourage our guest to separate compostable materials and recycle.
