Great location! Wonderful hosts!

Spent a week a Na Hale O Keahou and the condo had everything we could possibly need. The condo is right next to the Keahou Shopping Center so it's a quick hop to dining, the KTA grocery, and other necessities. It's also a quick hop to downtown Kailua-Kona, the Kona Country Club, Hokuli'a Golf Club, and Keahou Bay. Hope to visit again soon.

Amazing place to stay!

This is the second time we have stayed here and again we loved it. A half mile walk to one of the top snorkel spots is big for me and the wife. We will be staying here in the future if available.

Month long stay

We have stayed at this property recently but not at j2. These townhomes are perfect for vacation and families. This particular unit is well kept and upgraded. The owners respond quickly if needed and there is plenty of stuff in the unit for all to enjoy and the complex is located in a great spot in Kona. Would stay here again for sure

Middle aged couple on a getaway!

We had such a blast during our stay. That house has everything you could possibly need and more! We love the deck upstairs. We were so grateful to use the beach chairs and little Cooler. The kitchen had everything you would ever need! The bed was comfy. The shower and bathtub were great!! The decor was beautiful and relaxing. The hot tub was wonderful. The complex is well kept, quiet, and beautiful! The guest book gave us great suggestions. We had the best time and part of it was how great our accommodations were! Highly recommend!

Could use a refresh

The good news is that the Na Hale O Keauhou complex is one of the best in all of Kona. The location is excellent and the complex is perfectly maintained from the landscape to the swimming pool and hottub. We enjoyed our stay at J2 but found it to be a bit outdated. A few examples. The outdoor BBQ is in need of replacement. It can be lit using matches etc but it is difficult to do so. The internal parts have holes in them so the flames can be seen. It is simply time to replace. Another example is the main television. It is a 32" in a cabinet that looks like it survived the Civil War. With no instructions for operation we had difficulty getting it to work. Not everyone that stays there is a Spectrum customer or is familiar with that system. Once again it simply needs to be updated. A modern 4K TV from Costco is simply so cheap it is silly not to have something up to date. Throughout the condo it is simply a matter of updating. Living room fan could not be operated without a missing remote. We were able to make one fan work but not the one with the light. The drapes for the sliding door are very thin and allow the sun to heat the room up even when closed. They are also irritating to use. A simple vertical blind would solve that. That afternoon Kona sun is hot and direct. Would be a definite 5 star condo with some updating. As it is I would give it 4 stars and most of that is the complex and location. The owners were good to work with.

I stayed at the Na Hale O keauhou for 10 delightful days. The unit is beautifully furnished and very comfortable. There is a lovely view of the golf course and ocean from the upstairs lanai. The kitchen is well equipped. My son who stayed with me particularly liked the workout room and the pool area is lovely. I highly recommend this condo.

Perfect

We very much enjoyed our stay at Na Hale O Keauhou J2. The location to the pool was great; we never heard our neighbors and hopefully our small kids weren’t too disruptive for them. The sunset views from the master lanai were amazing. Jane was very prompt to reply to any communication we had and was gracious enough to allow us to have some important documents mailed to us there. Would definitely recommend and hope to be back!

Perfect Vacation Rental

Throughout the many years of vacation rentals, this has been the best. It is situated in a perfect location. The unit is equipped with everything that contributed to a comfortable stay: more than enough dishes, glasses, cooking utensils, cookware, spices, towels, beddings, beach equipment. We appreciated the owner’s prompt responses to a few minor problems we encountered, mainly our unfamiliarity with a few appliances. We luxuriated in the peace and quiet of the area. We would return here in a heartbeat. Thank you Jane and Richard.

Wonderful Property!

This townhome is located in a quite, gated community that is absolutely beautiful! The townhome itself is extremely well maintained, comfortable, and everything you could possibly want in your vacation home away from home. Both the downstairs lanai and upstairs lanai have expansive ocean and sunset views. The property is peaceful and beautifully maintained. The pool is amazing and we enjoyed swimming every night! The home is well-stocked with any kitchen item you could possibly need, and there are plenty of regular towels, beach towels, beach chairs, and other beach supplies available for use. This townhome definitely enhanced our vacation. We enjoyed being about 10 minutes from the heart of Kona. Close enough to enjoy the town, far enough to feel like you have your own piece of paradise. If we go back to the Big Island, I would certainly schedule around the availability of this property. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!

Not As Advertised

The unit is listed as a 2 bathroom plus guest bathroom but we couldn't use the guest bathroom because we had to turn the water off to stop it from malfunctioning. Also the dishwasher never worked. We contacted the host and were told that there were known problems and to consult the users manual.

Excellent location and unit

We stayed at this townhome 2 weeks ago and I can't say enough good things. The location is very nice, away from the busy streets of Kona but just a 5 minute drive to all the shops etc. Beautiful grounds and a new development. The unit is right next to the pool so you can walk there in a minute. The townhome is very well stocked. The kitchen had everything and more. The beach closet has been one of the BEST we have ever had at a beach rental, all the gear was in great condition and lots of good stuff to use. The master bath and bedroom are huge. There was a cordless Dyson vacuum to use and a washer and dryer are a must for us on vacation and it was all very well stocked. The second bedroom has a ceiling fan that needs to be fixed, if we hadn't paid for the air conditioning it would have been unbearable. We had an issue with the dishwasher and got a quick reply with where to find the owners manual and we were able to get it figured out. Neither of these things impacted our stay and wouldn't prevent us from staying again. We would definitly rent from Jane and Richard again.

Fantastic Quiet Location

Visited the Big Island from Feb 4-13, 2018. My wife and I are in our mid 50's and look for a good quiet location to stay on our vacation. This unit fit the bill perfectly. I will list the good and bad points but will tell you now there is not many bad, really just minor points, with this unit. This is the type of information I look for and pass to others when searching for a condo rental. The Good 1. Excellent location if you are looking for a quiet well equipped condo rental. Very close to the Keauhou Shopping Center where there is a large grocery store, drug store, medical clinics, shops and a number of restaurants with in a few minutes walk from the condo site. Also about a 10 min walk from Kahualuu Beach Park were there is excellent snorkeling (saw lots of fish) with parking, washrooms, change rooms and lifeguards on duty. About 15 min drive, depending on traffic, to Kailua Kona where there are ample restaurants, bars and shopping. About 30 min drive from Kona airport. 2. Condo grounds are meticulously maintained and there is lots of parking next to the unit. Available in ground pool on the grounds. Didn't use it but it looked very well maintained and never crowded. 3. Condo is a gated community so it was very quiet and safe. We left our 2nd story windows open almost all the time to keep the unit cool and never had any issues. 4. Unit J-2 was very well equipped. Main floor has good size kitchen and living area and 1/2 bath. Second floor has two good size bedrooms with attached full bathrooms. Mattress in master bedroom was very comfortable. Lots of windows in the unit to allow that cool evening breeze in. Lots of bedding, towels. Washer/dryer(for those who travel light). Fully equipped kitchen with granite counter tops and stainless appliances, lots of dishes of all kinds. Excellent high speed internet/wifi, beach chairs/umbrella, snorkeling gear. The unit is tastefully decorated. Unit is relatively new so all condo buildings and unit J-2's interior/exterior don't look run down at all. 5. Nice patio and balcony off main floor and master bedroom. with deck chairs and gas barbecue on ground level patio. 6. Great view of the ocean from the 2nd floor balcony. 7. Renting and payment installments where a breeze through Aloha Condos and Homes. Payment installments charged to credit card when indicated and never had any issues. Aloha Condos always informed buy e-mail when charge was made. 8. Excellent instructions from the owners, Jane Schmitt & Richard Crack. They provided very clear instructions on how to find the condo complex, entry to the grounds and unit itself. No verbal contact was required and you did not have to meet anyone for access. Also very clear instructions on how to leave the unit on your last day. The Bad.......and these are picky and there aren't many. 1. If you are younger and like the night life in downtown Kona this isn't the location for you. It is about a 15 min drive, in good traffic, to Kona. So not close if you plan to stumble home from the bars. 2. Unit deficiencies. We are tea drinkers and the kettle in the unit was unusable. Time for a new one. Toilet off master bath needs repairing. Constantly running. Dishwasher requires repair. Was leaking water with every wash. No cutting boards for food prep to be found in the unit. Time to buy some. Possible improvement. Patio/Balcony face west, in direct sun, and unbearably hot to sit out there in late afternoon to enjoy the view. Will Condo Association allow the installation of shades of some sort? 3. Electricity is expensive in Hawaii so expect a surcharge if you want to use the available central A/C. The owners warn you in advance of booking of the added expense so there is no surprise when you book/stay. However, the condo is equipped with lots of ceiling fans there was usually a cool breeze off the ocean at night and we were very comfortable sleeping with the windows open on the second floor. Again the condo complex was very quiet and safe. We have visited O'ahu, Maui and the Big Island with the Big Island being our favorite so far. Also excellent stay at Na Hale O Keauhou, Townhome J-2. We plan to visit the Bit Island again in the future and would definitely rent unit J-2 again if available.

No AC as promised

While the condo was clean, neat and well-stocked, my experience was far from reaching my expectations. I researched condos for months looking for ones that provided AC. There were plenty of options, but this condo was my final choice. Upon arrival, I noted that the AC thermostat was "stuck" on 90 degrees, with the "down" button not working. I reached out instantly to the owners, as well as their emergency contact numbers. It was the next day before I received a response from them. While they sent the AC guy to look at it the next day, he replaced the thermostat and left. The AC remained at 86 degrees. I reached out again, and had to stay home from my job for the second day (I work on the island 2 months per year) to wait for the AC tech. He informed me that the AC was completed broken, parts would need to be ordered from the mainland, and he had no idea when he would be able to fix the AC. He also shared that the unit had not been taken well care of, and that the filter had not been replaced in over 1 1/2 years. I remained without AC throughout the duration of my stay (20 days). While the owners refunded the fee I paid for AC, the condo stayed between 80 to 86 degrees the entire time. I was miserably hot, and of course very upset as there were plenty of other options that did have AC. Yet, here I was, stuck. I almost requested my money back to move to another suitable condo. The housecleaner told me also that she had informed the condo owners that the AC was broken earlier. I do not feel the homeowners should advertise their property as Air conditioned if they are not taking care of it, replacing filters/having it serviced routinely or heeding warnings from those informing them that AC is not working. This is fraudulent in my opinion. I would have never even looked at this condo without AC, much less rented it. In the end, I was stuck and had to tough it out. No communication ensued from the homeowners regarding the status of the AC, and I had to reach out to them to see if there would be any relief. There was not even an alternative offered (i.e., like refunding for buying a fan so I would not burn up in the heat). I was very disappointed in the homeowners and the conditions I had to "live in for 20 days".

Tropical vacation

We love the location of the property and have stayed previously in a different unit. The proximity to the pool was great! The lack of "hot" water was troublesome. It was well stocked. All in all we had a great experience.

Great Condo. Great Location very comfortable and inviting

My wife and I just finished a 8 day stay & we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We started every day with Coffee on the Lanai just taking in the beautiful view of the ocean, the exotic birds on the property and the immaculate tropical landscaping of the complex. Condo was perfectly furnished with the owners thinking of every need for anyone new to the area or new to the Big Island. The pool and hot tub area was a delight with plenty of room for both Adults and children. Highly recommended, we will be back!

Beautiful family vacation condo

Beautiful, comfortable, clean and fairly updated condo with view of ocean, golf course and pool. Great location! Near market, beaches and movie theater. It was so nice to feel like home away from home. The condo has EVERYTHING!! AC, cable, Wifi, fully loaded kitchen , beach towels and toys, relaxing tub, washer and dryer, balcony and lanai with its own BBQ grill. The pool and spa area were awesome, so relaxing, had area to ourselves everyday. Gym is well equipped and pool area also had BBQ grill and kitchen to have meals by the pool. Owners thought of everything needed to make our vacation an amazing experience. Very safe in a gated community. I highly recommend it to a small family and if a larger group is traveling their are condos for rent right next door to make it a family reunion.

Fantastic Vacation Home

My husband and I stayed in this townhouse for eleven nights in November 2015. The home is beautifully decorated in island style. The unit is located in a well-kept, quiet gated community. There is a pool and exercise room available and, of course, the beach is just minutes away. There are beach towels and ice chests available for those trips. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could possibly need. There are beautiful views from both lanais with the one off the master bedroom great for watching sunsets. This home would work well for two couples as both bedrooms have attached, private baths. While the location is south of Kona it is an easy trip on the upper highway and everything from groceries to restaurants are a short distance away.

Great Vacation

My stay was amazing. This home was neat, clean and spacious. I love the view from both lanais and it's accommodating kitchen is very beautiful. Nice and secured with air conditioning. The pool is close and clean as well as its fitness center. I love the location of this townhome, being close to the shops, beaches and attractions made it very convenient to grab whatever was needed to make my stay feel more like home. I highly recommend this townhome. It is a great place for a relaxing vacation.

It does not get much better

This house works really well for a small family. Beds are nice and comfy, there is a lot of storage. Bathrooms are convenient and modern. Windows open to create a nice breeze through the house. Kitchen is top-notch. Lanai downstairs provides a great place to eat and dry out snorkeling and diving equipment. Lanai upstairs is fantastic for a sunset wine or cocktail. The view is great, including occasional whale or a pod of dolphins passing by. A nice pool is steps away. We did not have a chance to use boogie boards provided by the owner - waves were a bit too high during our stay, but beach chairs got quite a use. Location is great - right next to the shopping center and restaurants, 5 minutes to a great snorkeling place, and pretty much anything on a Kona side is a short drive away. We are definitely coming back.

Wonderful venue for siblings!

This lovely townhome was the perfect setting for my siblings and me. We found the townhome to be very clean, well appointed and well stocked with cooking equipment, beach gear, even Hawaiian CDs. The Na Hale O Keauhou community is beautiful and in a perfect walkable location near Keauhou Shopping Center. I look forward to a return visit.

Like a second home

This is our second at this condo, and it's the only place we've stayed that doesn't make us long for our own home. It has everything we need, and is beautifully maintained. Even the bed doesn't make us long for our own. There's a full supermarket a short walk away, great snorkeling spots close by, and plenty of restaurants. We think that this will become a yearly destination!
