We had the most beautiful stay, we highly recommend Tammar Ridge. It was so peaceful, clean, and had everything we needed! The kids loved waking up to kangaroos outside their windows! Martin was a lovely host.

Great place for kangaroos and koalas. Over looking Snellling beach. Disadvantages is it is an hour from Kingcote if that’s a disadvantage! The wildlife at night makes travelling at night dangerous. If you want a great house in a great location this is the one, away from civilisation.

Tammar Ridge was amazing...exceptional in every way. Impressive views from the ridge over Snellimngs beach...Well equiipped kitchen, spacious living areas, spacious bedrooms and ensuites (incredibly comfortable beds, matresses, linens), spacious bathroom with large fluffy towels), instant hot water, clean floor-ceiling windows for viewing wildlife that visits daily, impressive laundry and facilities...excellent hosts in Michael and Fiona (instant replies to any queries) .. one word says it all "A-Mazing!).

Without a doubt one of the most stunning locations we've ever stayed. 4 nights of absolute paradise. The spacious (4305 sq ft) new (2023) house with ceiling to floor views of rolling hills on one side and brilliant blue Snelling Beach on the other side with two dozen resident kangaroos lounging in the shade during the day and grazing right by the side of the house in the evenings MADE the Kangaroo Island experience for us. A curious joey even ventured onto the porch one evening and peered into the living room. Three ensuite bedrooms have views of Snelling Beach. The fourth bedroom has views of the rolling hillside rather than the beach. While it doesn’t have an ensuite bathroom, it has a bathroom right beside it with soaking tub and separate shower. We appreciated the ceiling heat fans in the bathrooms. We stayed in the house for seven nights, spending each day in a different part of the island. Coming “home” to the house and local kangaroos each afternoon was a delight. We ate dinner at the house every evening and found the kitchen well stocked with everything necessaryfor meal prep. Martin, the owner/host was incredibly responsive before, during and after our stay and the caretakers live nearby. We appreciated the plentiful supply of toilet paper, laundry soap, coffee pods, olive oil and hangers in the house. Pro tip- to see koalas, park at the small Lions Park in nearby Parndana, enter the green fenced playground area where there is a sand box with toy trucks and look up into the eucalyptus trees.

Perfect location and amazing views

Great stay and would love to come back again soon. Absolutely stunning location and the interior is high quality. Our family went for a long weekend and fell in love with the views of the hills and the Ocean and felt at home in a modern and comfortable interior. Would highly recommend a stay!

Dream of a house!

Breath taking views from the comfort of an outstanding house, which looks out a magazine. We love the location, very close to the beach which is nice and quiet, perfect for a walk.

Fantastic house in beautiful location

We loved our stay at Tamar Ridge. The views of Snelling beach and the rolling hills from the house were amazing, We loved waking up to the kangaroos grazing on the grass outside of the windows. The house itself was outstanding, with everything you could possibly need. Martin was great at communicating before, during and after our stay.

Family Friendly Luxury Wildlife Retreat

Amazing location with stunning views both of the ocean and hills. We absolutely loved waking up to a mob of kangaroos outside the windows every morning and seeing them bring the joeys up for a feed of an evening. Accommodation was pristine, felt like a beautiful home away from home with all the amenities one could need. Perfect spot for families, friends and couples get aways. Martin had perfect communication before, during and after our stay! We will definitely be back!!!!

Omg amazing

This place is so incredibly beautiful - we had family Christmas here and my husband and I were on cooking duty which was an absolute joy as the kitchen is so well appointed with all the bells and whistles and TWO DISHWASHERS! This is such a stunning home, near a beautiful beach and the fig tree restaurant which is a must do on kangaroo island - waking up to the view of the wallabies and the beach every day was pure magic. THANK YOU!

Beautiful property, excellent layout of the house and everything was clean and well looked after. The views were magnificent of the ocean and the hills from every room and we were even lucky enough to watch a storm roll in which was a real treat! Master bedroom was a real sanctuary with floor to ceiling glass to make the most of the view, highly recommend :)

Fantastic

We stayed 4 nights. Great views from the house, which itself has everything, is stunningly designed and user friendly. It’s a fabulous location, with wildlife everywhere and great walks. Snellings Beach is close, but it is the house itself and everything that comes with that is the real attraction. Can’t wait for next time. Fabulous stay in an amazing location

We had a fantastic family stay at Tammar Ridge. The house is amazing - set on the top of the hill with amazing views to Snelling Beach on one side and views of the countryside on the other. Kangaroos and other wildlife greeted us every day and it was magically peaceful and quiet. The house itself is beautifully built with quality fixtures and fittings. Everything you need for your stay is located in the house. Martin was also great to deal with and had fantastic communication skills. I would highly recommend a stay at Tammar Ridge.

Great getaway for family escape from the city

Tammar Ridge is a stunning property with an abundance of wildlife. There's great internet and bose speakers in every room. Make sure you stock up well on your favourite foods and beverages before you arrive to ensure you are well nourished while there. Pack your slippers (or Ug Boots) for cooler nights and be prepared for 20 mins of driving on gravel road on your way in. The property is in easy reach of the more adventurous parts of the island and was perfect for our family of older teens and adults.

What a stunning house and location! Beyond my wildest dreams...front of house has 180 seaviews whilst the back area is a rural vista beautiful hills and trees and lots and lots of wallabies and roos...many with Joeys...who were very cute. I couldve happily stayed housebound the full 8 days of my stay, just watching these amazing creatures grazing nearby the house. Talk about timewasters lol! The house itself is a real show stopper! Everything one could need is avaiable. A butlers pantry to die for, large kitchen with all the amenities to make meals....just remember to bring all your food along with you as its quite a drive to head into Kingscote or Parndana if you need groceries or fresh fruit n veg. A slow burner fireplace made for cosy evenings with plenty of wood provided..and air con was also available if needed. Easily the BEST Stayz accommodation I have stayed in. I was loathe to leave this exceptional home. The views both front and back are amazing. 180 sea views at front of house and stunning rural rolling hills trees and grasses out back with wallabies feeding nearby.....many had joeys and I was more than happy just sitting and watching these wonderful creatures......truly nature at its best. The interior is superb. Well designed with every feature one could want or need. Master bedroom included a walk in robe and dressing facilities...an ensuite with ocean views from the shower....and the bed is oooh soo comfy! Id LOVE to visit Tammar again. Thanks Martin!

Tammar Ridge is a spectacular house in the most wonderful quiet and restful location. It is exactly like the photos if not even better. Beautifully designed with spacious rooms and luxurious fittings. Fabulous bathrooms and bedrooms with far reaching views. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable beds. The views are just amazing wherever you look out of the floor to ceiling windows. The kitchen is incredibly well equipped and it was such a treat to sit and watch the sun go down over the sea sipping a glass of wine and eating dinner. The local residents ie. the kangaroos and eagles and other wildlife are there to keep you company just outside the window. It was only my sister and I but this would also be a great house to share with family and friends - plenty of room for all. The host is incredibly kind and helpful and always responded immediately to any queries. He was particularly helpful when our ferry crossing was changed and we had a slight hitch to our plans. I cannot recommend this wonderful house enough - do not hesitate to book it !

There are not too many places in the world where you can wake up and watch kangaroos out the window from your bed or just be generally blown away by the view while making breakfast. The house is spacious, clean, modern and well stocked; the location is just breathtaking and Martin is a great host

Once in a lifetime stay

Martin was fantastic to work with from start to finish. The house was exactly as promised and very clean. Location is excellent to escape from the more populated east side. The location provides close access to most of the natural beauty on the west and north sides of the island. This property is an absolute must stay if you are coming to Kangaroo Island.
