My husband and I spent 18 happy days in this clean, spacious, attractively decorated, and well supplied home. The beds are exceedingly comfortable. The master bathroom has a large walk-in shower. Our son came to visit for a week (working remotely a few days) and had his own side of the house, with its two bedrooms and bathroom.
When you enter the house, the view through the living area onto the golf course is beautiful. We drank our morning coffee in the back screen porch while watching the birds and looking down on the tranquil greens. It was delightful to step out the back porch to go for 7:30am and late afternoon walks on the paths of the golf course.
The owner was very helpful, and communication was prompt. We really appreciated that! As for future improvements: the front outside stairs and two broken front bedroom windows could use some attention. There are two bikes, but we could not lower the woman’s bike seat or adjust its gears enough to be useable. However, the kayaks are in fine condition, and we took them for two pleasant excursions on the bay. Other highlights were catching the ferry (a short walk just around the corner) for shelling at Cayo Costa, eating a superb luncheon at the Tarpon Inn, marveling at the fascinating history of the Calusa Heritage Trail, and of course occasional play at the Alden Pines Golf Course (which is quirky but still enjoyable). My husband and I were glad to leave the storms of New England to experience the charms of Pine Island. We had a great time at this rental and think it is an excellent value.
