Pine Island at it's best. House is located in a nice quiet area, yet just a short drive from everything on the island. Golf fans, bring your clubs or don't, there's a bunch in the garage, your backyard is 18th hole tip off. Enjoy the golf course view from the second floor screened porch, or enjoy a few rounds yourself.
Got a boat? Boat launch is just 100 yards away at a 5 star rated marina, also a great place to just hang out and watch the sunset with the neighbors.
Ferry is also right down the block, they take you out to the Caya Costa state park, that's on a separate island, accessible by boat only, day trips and extended camping available.
Matlacha village is right off the island with many colorful shops and bars. It's a couple miles stretch of islands filled with small shops, restaurants, bait & tackles stores and boat rental places all can be found there.
Ride bikes around the island, 4 available at the house, or drop a kayak on the water and explore the many mangrove islands in the area. Saw tons of different fish, with massive snook that made my heart skip a beat. Definitely bring a rod if going boating/kayaking.
Back to the house. It's fully equipped and well stocked. Nice size, comfortable beds, and master bedroom fitted for a king. Screened porch on the second floor provides excellent escape from the insects and great place to enjoy a meal.
The downstairs hang out area is a dream come true. Grill and Bar with custom made counters and shelves, mini fridge, flat screen TV on the wall, lights with fans, and plenty of seating area for everybody to be comfy. Football season got to be fun at this place. There's also a fire pit in the backyard and some tiki torches in the garage to set the mood for the evening.
Did I mention, there's one more bedroom downstairs for those "independent" teenagers who wants their privacy. It can only be accessed from downstairs lounge area and has it's own restroom with a shower.
Some might find it a downside, that there's no public beaches on the Pine Island. I know it seems odd, an island with no beaches. I thought its kind of great because it keeps a lot of the tourist traffic off the island, and some of the best beaches in Florida are just about an hour drive away which seems even shorter because half the ride you're just getting off the Pine Island and going through Matlacha. From there, there's ton of beach options.
David is also a nice person to work with and will help you with any questions or issues.
