This was a big WOW property! From the moment I entered the home, I felt welcomed, comfortable and super happy with my choice.So much space, resplendent with works of art, and yet still felt huge. Our just could not meet us but he sent written welcome and instructions that were easy to follow. For my family Christmas lunch, everything I needed was there! How good is that?So close to the water that the kids old swim and paddle with ease and safety The rooms were comfy with gorgeous soft sheets. And the bath with a view! …. I absolutely recommend this gorgeous property for any family or group of couples. Stunning!Thanks Doug

Wonderful stay on the waterfront in Newport. The property is beautifully designed and there has been a lot of thought put into the living spaces and rooms. Love the artwork and little touches throughout. Doug is a fantastic host, communicated clearly and frequently throughout our stay, he set up a baby cot for us which was perfect for bubs. All things considered, the five star rating is well deserved and we will definitely be back!

Staying at Dougs was a highlight of our trip. Quick and extremely helpful communication. We had a wonderful 2-day stay at Pittwater Paradise! The location is absolutely stunning — peaceful, surrounded by nature, and with breathtaking views of the water. The house was spotless and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Communication with the host was smooth and friendly, and check-in was a breeze. It was the perfect short getaway — we only wish we could’ve stayed longer!

Tranquil getaway

This house is in a beautiful location with plenty of room for a large family. I knew there was going to be a lift to enter the house as others had mentioned it in the reviews. At first I was a bit reluctant but thank goodness it had a lift as I fractured my foot during one of our outings and there was no way I would've been able to go up the stairs to the bedrooms. Instructions to enter the house was easy and we did not need to bother the owner at all as everything was set out clearly for us.The weather during our beginning of April stay was nice and warm and in the eveninings and early mornings a nice cool breeze came into the bedrooms and living area. There is no air conditioning which could be a problem in bad weather conditions, but they do have ceiling fans.The house is very spacious and felt very comfortable staying there. The decor is an eclectic mix which visually we thoroughly enjoyed. The location is picture perfect! Sitting out on the deck in the evening was just gorgeous. Thank you Doug for opening your home for others to enjoy!

Good location. great view. But large building work in neighbouring house.

The location, view and house were great. Beds were double instead of queen as stated. It was very evident that the owner lived in the house. His communication both before and during stay was too much. There were notes placed around the house on blinds on tables etc telling you what to do or not do. Also stating that this was his home. He texted me several times to put the bins out. This information was in the overview of the house. But the most annoying thing was that there was large building works in the house next door. From 0700 till 1600. Monday to Saturday.

We could have stayed a week

We had a great time at Doug's place; his home is the perfect place for a get together with friends. Everything you need is there, comfortable rooms, an inviting pool, incredible views; peacefulness of the area; and two great yacht clubs located down the road. It was just right for our visit to Sydney.

Nice place at a good location

For those who want to explore the Northern Beaches this house is ideally located. Nice restaurants nearby both in Newport and Newport Beach, but also in the two neighbouring yacht clubs. Manly in the south and Palm Beach in tje north are both appr.30 mins by car.

Disappointing

Property advertised as an entire home but had second level not accessible No Air conditioning made the hot days and nights uncomfortable Pool was not clean on arrival and by day 3 of our 7 days we couldn’t use it.The owner asked us to pour a tub of chlorine in which didn’t address the very horrible algae problem and the owner did not have the pool attended to during the week of our stayThere is no undercover areas outside the home and the heat made it unbearable The home itself is lovely as is the location, just felt it was not worth the money

Ladies Weekend Away

A lovely stay at Pittwater Paradise with a group of friends, the property is a short walk to the Yacht Club, has beautiful views and comfortable beds. Doug’s has left many notes and directions regarding the use of the property and made contact to ensure we settled in well on the a Friday. Thanks Doug for allowing us the stay in your home.

I built this property in 2011 to take full advantage of the incredible views.
It is so peaceful and tranquil waking up overlooking the cove and the yachts, and hearing the water lapping up to go to sleep to.
Swimming or kayaking directly off the house seawall is possible, or just enjoy the pool.
Some nice tree-lined walks from the house, or enjoy the park next door but one to the house. Or just 40m up the road is a public wharf, good to throw a fishing line from, or to just admire the views.
I plan to stay here as long as I can, as I know no other place so tranquil.
