We had such a relaxing stay and found the house very comfortable and it felt so homely. It didn’t even matter that it was raining thanks to the fireplace; which also mesmerised our dog. We were house hunting in the area & wished we could buy the place! Highly recommend and the owners were lovely

Perfect homely stay

Corkwood at Smiths has everything you need to feel like you’re in a home away from home. It rained nearly the whole time we stayed there and it was so nice to light a fire, play board games, watch movies and just do nothing! I’ve been to Smiths a lake many times and this is one of my favourite places to stay especially with dogs- absolutely stress free!

Christmas at Smiths Lake

The property was well presented and well stocked with utensils and products for cleaning and cooking with. The cleanliness of the property was excellent. A comfortable and enjoyable stay over the Christmas period where my other family members could enjoy on Christmas day.

Great place for relaxing break

Really lovely property, all you need in a place and really nicely renovated. Loved the fireplace. Also, and most importantly to me was that the yard was secure for my dogs.

Great quiet spot perfect for family and dog

Property was lovely and clean and more spacious than expected. Easy walk to lake and cafe although you do need a car to get about. Beds were goldilocks so we slept well and kitchen was very well stocked. Overall we enjoyed our Easter stay away from hectic crowds

Always spotlessly clean

This is our 4th or 5th stay at Corkwood. It suits our needs perfectly and always spotlessly clean. We were saddened to see the Fatty Vaughton cookbook no longer there - we always look for it for a nostalgic giggle. Host is very accommodating.

Wonderful Oasis

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here, house has everything you need for a wonderful and relaxing stay. We were a group of 4 adults, two teenagers and a small dog and felt very comfortable here. Wifi was great, DVD player was perfect for movie nights and the available board games made for fun afternoons. The location is a short walk to the lake, coffee shop and local shops. The area also offers plenty of activities which my family enjoyed, such as surfing, fishing and 4WD. Communication with Diane was great. We will definitely be back!

I appreciated the way in which the house has been furnished with all the little comforts of home that you find yourself needing. Flour herbs etc as well as things like mosy coils etc.

Our Favourite Place to Stay

This is our second time we have stayed at Corkwood. Awe absolutely love this place, it has a beautiful feel, perfectly located and spotless. The amenities are great with 2 bathrooms, fans, fireplace, stereo, wifi access, pizza oven …. so much more to list. Our pets loved the closed backyard. As soon as they got there you could see the recognition on their face! Means lots of beach runs and walks along the lake. We hope to stay there in the future as our block of land is a couple of doors down .

Property was clean , comfortable, well equipped and pet friendly

Everything was perfect for our short stay. Location was great. Clean, comfortable and well equipped with a leafy, secure enclosed courtyard for our four legged family member. No complaints would happily book this house again as Smiths Lake is a sensational destination.
