We’ve lived at the Mount for over eight years and love everything this beautiful beach resort destination has to offer — from morning walks along the surf to relaxing evenings at Pilot Bay, watching the sunset or cruise ships sail away to their next destination. Hosting gives us the chance to share a slice of our lifestyle with others and help guests make the most of their stay in the Bay. We take pride in keeping the studio spotless, quiet, and well-equipped so you can simply relax and enjoy your visit.

Mount Maunganui has a truly special energy — a perfect blend of beachside relaxation and vibrant local life. We love that you can stroll along the 3 km coastal boardwalk from Tay Street all the way to Mauao, stop for coffee at Tay Street Café, or take a peaceful walk around Pilot Bay and watch the sun set behind the harbour. The area has everything within easy reach — the beach, Bay Oval, boutique shops, great restaurants, and local markets — yet still keeps that relaxed coastal feel that makes the Mount so unique.

Guests often comment on how peaceful and private the studio feels — tucked away at the back of the property, it’s a quiet retreat that still keeps you close to everything. The bed is exceptionally comfortable, and the shower always gets special mention for its great pressure and design. With Tay Street Beach, Bay Oval, and the Mount’s main shopping and dining area all within easy walking distance, it’s the perfect balance of comfort, convenience, and calm.
