Suzanne, We are disappointed that we did not meet your expectations for your stay. We were surprised by your comments, especially since you never voiced any of these concerns upon arrival or during your stay. In many years of guests, and many longer term repeat rentals every year, we have received overwhelmingly positive feedback. To address some of your comments: In terms of dampness- upon your departure, we did find a considerable number of wet towels left on the carpet and around the room, which likely contributed to what you described as a musty smell. We have a washer and dryer on the main floor that guests can use to dry towels, and there is a dehumidification mode in the new the AC units in all bedrooms. In terms of the beds, as described in the VRBO listing, all beds are queen size except for the loft, which is full size. We and other guests have slept in the beds and we have never received any complaints about the comfort (especially to the point as someone needed to sleep on a couch), but comfort is subjective I suppose. In terms of TVs, the listing is also very clear that we have three televisions in the house. If having a large TV to gather around is a personal requirement on vacation, then other properties may have been more suitable. In terms of appliances, we change the water filter on the refrigerator frequently, and we keep extras in the cabinet above the refrigerator, had you asked. We have a double drawer dishwasher and while the upper drawer is larger, both drawers fit plates, just not all pots and pans. We would have been happy to assist with its operation, had you asked. Finally, 4 of our personal beach chairs were provided to you, since you asked for those before you checked in. We do not customarily supply beach chairs, so I went above and beyond to provide these for you. We removed two of these the day you were checking out, which should not have limited your use (I believe you asked about the chair as you were leaving). While we realize that not every rental fits every traveler’s needs perfectly, we stand by our listing photos and descriptions, and are responsive to guests before and during their stay. We would suggest that you read the listing descriptions more closely for future rentals and communicate any issues to the owner in a timely manner.

Janet, I'm sorry that you found that the Air Conditioning was not sufficient for your needs. The air conditioning was clearly described in the listing as only having AC in the bedrooms. We don't get direct sunlight on the 1st floor and with the wrap around porch and screens in the doors and windows, many rentals in the area have the same arrangement. We have had very few complaints in the past about this. We have not been able to replicate the smell in the house since the water was run in the tub. The trap most likely dried out from not being used prior to your stay. Having owned and lived in the house for over 20 years, the sewage odor is not a result of a problem with the plumbing. As of 2021 the house now has central air conditioning.

Hi William. We only requested that the wash was started prior to leaving as we had another check-in that day. We are working on finding a piano tuner and the house is now centrally air-conditioned as of 2021. Wireless internet has now been also upgraded to the fastest speed possible.
