The condo is right on beach just a half mile from Main Street. The unit is stocked with enough items in kitchen to prepare all meals. There is plenty of space for a couple. Communication with host was simple with quick responses. The biggest concern would be a need to update furniture (both living room and deck) and the throw rugs.

GREAT location! Check in could've been horrible, but the sweet ladies saved our bacon! We had a great trip and I would stay here again.

Not able to give an honest review

I am not able to give a review on this property. We were scheduled to check in on Saturday. Thursday I received a phone call from the booking place that we were not able to stay the week we requested. Apparently renovations were being done and would not be completed in time for our stay. To say I was upset is an understatement as we booked this vacation the end of December. Not sure why they would rent out a condo knowing renovations were going to be done around the time guests were supposed to check in.

Okay place to stay

The condo was clean but the carpets could use and update. The condo had a musty smell to it. But a purchase of some plug ins did the trick. We never did find the parking pass we were supposed to have. We are still waiting for our security deposit to be returned and it’s been a week since our stay Unfortunately we won’t be back

We had scaffolding that blocked some of our view. They worked just outside our bedroom window with hamming and drilling and sawing for a few days.

No elevator really is a bummer

Disappointed that we had to make up our own beds upon arrival. There was no dishwasher pod in the linen bag as stated. The balcony railing was loose and could really stand to be replaced. The coffee maker only made warm coffee. Overall the unit could use some renovating.

Chateau by the Sea

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This particular property is run down in general. There were outside doors on units coming off their hinges. Our condo had old dirty carpet and living area rug to the point you did not want to go barefoot. We had a call prior to check in that maintenance may be there when we arrive due to shower not cutting off completely. Since then we had to call back for the same issue and then had to call back for the sink not opening to drain in the same bathroom. I feel for the amount of money we paid that we should not have to worry about these issues and maintenance/plumber coming in 3 times during our stay. When asked after being frustrated about compensation we were told the owners would be notified but heard no follow up. Another thing was no toilet paper or paper towels to get started before going to the grocery. Not too much to ask in my opinion. Concluding on a good note we loved the location and view from the balcony!

Not pleased with stay

Master bedroom stayed humid due to openings in BR door seal. We couldn’t check in on time due to housekeeping, even though they had from 10am to 4pm to clean. First time ever having to make beds. They could have at minimum made the beds due to their failure with check-in time. You could still feel dirt on floors throughout the place especially in the master bathroom. There was still food in cabinets above the stove when we checked in, we left in cabinet.

Quiet and Quaint

We had 5 people. 2 kids and 3 adults. The master bedroom is very spacious and plenty of room for a couple but the second bedroom is only 2 full size beds. Enough for 1 person each. Then a pull out couch. The pictures are much nicer looking than the actual place. It needs some updated but it did well for our 4 days there. There is no elevators. 3 flights of stairs up and down. There’s no fans in any rooms, but the AC is adjustable and we kept cool. The door to the balcony from the master is very hard to open. It was rather cramped for 5 people. The location is great. There isn’t a ton of people where we were so plenty of space on the beach and a very short walk out to the beach which was fantastic! The pool isn’t anything spectacular but the kids enjoyed it just swimming around. Parking was never an issue and super close to the condo and near all the fun stuff. If you’re needing somewhere to stay that is budget friendly then this would be it! If you want more luxury then this is not it. Not a bad stay at all! Quiet and quaint!

Great location, beds stunk

Great views and location however main bed is awful for you back. My husband had to see the chiropractor twice when we were there. Ended up moving to the twin beds after the second night. Doesn’t make for a romantic trip.

Caution Do Not Rent this Unit or from Ocean Breeze Vacations

The reason I chose this unit was simply for the price. I have stayed at Chateau by the sea before and the location is great. The previous condo was also in great condition. This condo not so much. Please read all other reviews as the condo was dirty, the carpet is completely stained, beds are uncomfortable and, doors are rusted as noted in all other reviews. I knew all of this from reading reviews on VRBO but the price was better and I wanted the location on the beach. If you rent this condo, do a video walk through of the entire place and inspect every detail as they are now trying to claim I damaged the couch cushion which I know for a fact we did not. We covered the couch with a blanket as the couch was disgusting to sit on. They charge you a refundable deposit and a damage waiver fee for accidental and non-intentional damages but I am still charged an additional arbitrary and exorbitant fee for a cushion. I never reached out upon arriving or leaving as I never saw the damage being reported. I received an email stating I was getting my deposit back and then another email that I am to be charged for damages that were not reported. The damage shown was on the backside of the cushion as I would of seen and reported a hole in the front had I seen it. A reasonable renter should not have to inspect all sides of a couch cushion and worry about being charged an excessive fee after leaving. Google Ocean Breeze and see all the poor reviews from their rentals.

Reviewer Comments: price was high for what the place had to offer. arrived and didnt receive the door code until 4:00 which was the agreement however most places will let you check in up to an hour before if the condo is ready, not here. the floors have areas especially in the master bedroom that when you stepped on them if it didnt have carpet, you would most likly fall through, no exageration. carpets in both bedrooms stained. upon arrival you are given sheets and towels and need to make the beds your self. it is up 3 flights of stairs and there is not an elevator so if you are not in good health, this could pose a problem. master bed head board was cracked so i took pics of that and the carpet all stained up and sent that over so i would not be charged. if the price was half of what i paid it would have been reasonable for what i received but for that price, i have stayed in much nicer places in myrtle beach.

The bottom of the inside door was rusted away. This needs to be replaced ASAP.
