Great house for a group!

This property is one of the nicest and best equipped rentals we have ever stayed in. Beds were comfy, fireplace was wonderful and there was planet of wood. Magnificent kitchen with all the stuff you need to cook a great meal.

Sweet Retreat is really Sweet.

This was our second trip to Sweet Retreat. We had to cancel last year because of my son's cancer. We would like to just move in and stay permanently. It is homey and allows for all of us to find our own space. It has every thing you need to prepare food of your choice. You enjoy cooking and having family close. Ferndale is always special and you find family there even when you don't have any. Town closes fairly early, but coming home to this beautiful and comfy home makes for the close of a perfect day.

Lovely home. Very clean. The kitchen had every imaginable appliance and then some. Fun kitchen to cook in. The location was one block off Main Street and close to everything. The town was decorated for Halloween which was fun.

Wedding Weekend

Great location with easy walk to the charming main street of Ferndale. Such a wonderful home for a family stay! Fully equipped with anything and everything you would need for your visit. Great spaces for relaxation, conversation, cooking meals together....I could go on and on about this property. The downstairs ensuite bathroom was incredible and so tastefully done as was the rest of the home. The size of the kitchen and it's workspace was unreal....this place will make you wish you didn't have to leave!

Sweet Retreat was absolutely everything you could ask for. We love to cook and there was EVERYTHING you could possibly need in the kitchen. It rained the first night we were there and the fireplace was beautiful. The beds were super comfy and the place was immaculate. Thanks for the wonderful vacation......Patty B

Family house

This is a great house and location for a family to gather and celebrate. We enjoyed the amenities and the ability to just walk the town. When we had a problem the response from the house manager was prompt and very helpful. We would definitely stay here again!

Family Get Away From The Heat

My mom grew up in Ferndale and I came here every summer visiting my grandparents so this was an amazing place to stay and take in everything Ferndale. Easy walk everywhere we wanted to go to and explore. Spacious and comfortable. Perfect house for a perfect getaway.

a little piece of Heaven!

We stayed Monday thru Saturday. A great bit roomy comfy extremely well-stocked house! just like the listing says. The big yard was perfect for the dog - he could lay in the garage on cool cement, or go on the deck and look at us in the house and he could trot around the corner passed the enormous hot tub into another little courtyard to do his business. Perfect! The decor is beautiful. The furniture is heavy and sturdy - giant leather couches that recline. The kitchen is huge and we cooked breakfasts every day. The location was fantastic. We walked from the house to dinner downtown each night and to and from the Shaw House Inn where more family was staying. The big quiet comfy bedrooms were heavenly retreats from each other. The town is so quiet and peaceful and beautiful - every home is a piece of art. Every other home has a gorgeous garden. We walked to morning mass twice and adoration. The museum was literally across the street!!! and same with the pizza/salad bar/pasta restaurant. We all had the best time. My mom said it was the best vacation of her life. My brothers were relaxed. I am so grateful to have rented this home and so incredibly happy to have found Ferndale! The first visit for all 9 of us!

The Best!

We actually had to cancel. My son's chemo reactions had overwhelmed his system and he was too sick to travel. They were so gracious about cancellation. We have stayed there before and this home and its management are the best. We hope to get up there shortly when his health improves.

Ferndales sweet retreat

We could not have asked for anything more! The place was so beautifully appointed and comfortably furnished. The beds and linens were wonderful. And since we had our dogs there for the dog show, the courtyard and backyard were perfect. We would book this place again in a heartbeat

Nice walk to downtown and the Hadley Garden

This house is only a short walk to the cute Ferndale downtown. The house is Victorian on the outside and modern on the inside. I tried to convince our party to christen it the light switch house, as there are numerous light switches. The fireplace was a hit with the teens. The electronic door lock meant we didn't have to pass around a key letting anyone take a walk without fear of being locked out.

Great

Ferndale is definitely the gem of the area. The house is three blocks from downtown. From the fireplace in the kitchen and living area (with firewood),to the bicycles in the garage, I don’t think we could have found a better place. The kids rode the bikes in the neighborhood and to downtown. We would walk to the stores for food and shopping. If you are going to this area, this is the place to stay.

I was born and raised in Humboldt County, I grew up on a dairy farm and I spent a lot of my childhood in Ferndale , it's always been a very special place for me when this home came up for sale I knew it was meant to be , I live approximately 35 miles away and own a restaurant , that I've owned and operated for over 47 years. I travel a lot so I appreciate a plush clean well kept accommodation. I have brought all this to Ferndales Sweet Retreat by providing top of the line bedding, leather sofas, five flatscreen TVs and a well-maintained hot tub. If you like to cook then you will appreciate having all the tools and equipment and basic condiments that you would possibly need , if you don't want to cook than you are just a short walking distance to some really great local restaurants.!

This large custom home is beautiful, the location is great, there is no need to have a car to explore downtown Ferndale, everything is in walking distance! It is perfect for a romantic get away, or a family weekend!

We do allow dogs. However we charge an additional 30.00 per day per dog and we have a pet policy that dog owners must follow and have a signed contract proper to check in. Here is a list of our requirements please look over prior to booking with a pet. Thank You! Guest hereby agrees to comply the following:
1. Guest to pay additional pet fee in the amount of $____30.00 night______ per (night/week).

2. All pets must comply with the following specifications (documentation from an accredited veterinarian must be provided by Guest upon request):

. Must be up-to-date on rabies vaccinations and all other vaccinations. Heartworm preventive is highly recommended.

3.All pets must be leashed at all times.

4. Guest is responsible for cleaning up any/all pet refuse.

5. Pets are not allowed on furniture or in beds or on bedding at any time. Any evidence of pets on furniture may incur extra cleaning fees.

6. All pets are to be treated with a topical flea and tick repellent three (3) days prior to arrival. Fleas and ticks are very rampant in this area and can cause harmful/fatal illness to humans and pets.

7. Pet must not cause damage to premises or furnishings. If damages are caused, the cost of the damage may be deducted from security deposit.

8. Guest should prevent pets from producing excessive noise at a level that disturbs neighbors.

9. Pet will not be left unattended for an undue length of time, either indoors or out. Pet will not be left unattended on patio, or porch.

10. Homeowner assumes no responsibility for illness or injury that may incur to pets or humans while on the premises.

The Guest shall be solely responsible for the pet while on the property.
