While some in our party spent more time away from the house, most were interested in enjoying the outdoor spaces, namely pool and beach. I had specifically asked about the beach, whether we could swim, walk, snorkel and was told that, yes, with water shoes, the surf there was perfect for all those activities. And that was not true at all. Swimming was impossible, even wading in the water could have resulted in a broken ankle due to weedy patches and sudden drop-offs under the water. The pool, nice enough, was only good for wading and sunning, not swimming. The deck off the living area had a table that fell apart on one end and steps to and from the pool and beach house were precarious. Our son fell walking off the side deck and almost did break his ankle. All the loveliness of the inside was wasted on people who really only wanted to enjoy the outside sun, water and relaxation. I will be careful to ask more pointed questions the next time I rent a beach house.
