Travelling for extended periods of time can be stressful. Your family is used to your home or apartment, you are surrounded by your possessions which is comfortable and practical, especially at meal time or at night when everybody is relaxing.
Our goal as hosts is to recreate the comforts of home as much as possible!

3/2 1-story home nestled on a 1.63 ACRE cul-de-sac lot that borders a beautiful lake in Mandarin's Anchorage neighborhood. Updated heart of the home eat-in Kitchen offers granite countertops, food prep island, stainless steel appliances, and a walk-in pantry. Adjacent to the Kitchen is a lrg dining area or flex space for you to use as desired. Master Suite has updated bath. Living Rm features a stone WB fireplace, vaulted ceiling and hardwood flooring. near Whole Foods, shopping, I-295 access, restaurants, Publix and more. Views of lake are spectacular!

Didn’t stay here because Host double-booked property

No one (including me) stayed at this property because the Host double-booked it and won’t issue a refund after repeated complaints. (Even the VRBO customer service staff have attempted to communicate this to the Host and described him to me as “difficult” and “not understanding the process.” Save yourself weeks of frustration and book elsewhere.

Review

We loved the location and the backyard view was what made the stay enjoyable. Would of loved to see the inside more personable, pictures on walls , and a little more decorated. The kitchen table was all scratched up, kitchen chairs dirty. The drawers in the master bedroom were dirty, which were attached to the bed, couldn't use them, deck needed painted , house needed power washing, windows needed cleaning. Pillow case protectors were dirty. No cookie sheets or wine bottle opener. Utensils thrown in bottom of cabinet and not placed in the empty drawer. Pantry door broken. Drawer knobs were missing off of kitchen drawer. Needs some updating. Expected a little more for the price that was charged. Although, we would stay there again. It was only 10 minutes from family. No bugs in the house, sometimes in Florida you find something. Nothing....yeah. No dresser in master bedroom. No table lamps in two of the bedrooms. We have an 88 yr old mom with us. We would have to put her in bed then go turn off her light. My bedroom had a night stand, no table lamp. There was a stand up lamp off in a corner. The only light in the room. I would have to turn it off then feel around to get into bed without stubbing a toe. I guess the bottom line would be for the price for one week we all Expected the house to have been cleaned and supplied a little more than what it was . The outside barbecue was way beyond disrepair to even use if we wanted to. It was nasty. I would rate this stay a 5 out of 10.

Good stay for the price

Property manager responded quickly. Neighborhood wasn't the nicest, but was a good location for getting us to where we needed to be.

The property was perfect for us. Our small boat would fit in the garage. We hope to return soon!

Mandarin is an extremely desirable location in Jacksonville due to it's central location. It's only 20 minutes gets you to Downtown, the beaches, our biggest outdoor mall(The Town Center). Good restaurants and everyday shopping needs like Groceries and Target/Walmart are 5 minute drives. short 30 minute drive to St Augustine! You can catch a live comedy show right down the street at the Ramada Inn comedy zone. Right next to that is Bob Evans, a chain that serves down home cooking like meatloaf and Turkey with all the fixings like on Thanksgiving. Love BBQ? Don't hesitate to ask us for recommendations! We are foodies and will point you in the right direction no matter what type of cuisine you are craving! From Golden Corral to Fine Dining, Jax has it all, and it's close by!

JTA runs buses throughout Jacksonville, but the best way to get around is by car. Jacksonville is actually the LARGEST land area of any city in the US, Take that Texas! Lol. Yes bigger than NYC, Miami, Atlanta etc. It's a BIG city with a small town feel. As I mentioned above, 90% of anything you desire is very close to the home, San Jose blvd and Old St Augustine Rd, which bracket the property, are filled with Gas Stations, Grocery Stores(Publix!), Restaurants, Auto Care places etc. Every kind of restaurant imaginable can be found, burgers and shakes, Indian Food, Really Great italian and BBQ, Haute Cuisine, Seafood absolutely everything is available.
