My family and I arrived to what we envisioned to be a quaint and clean cabin, only to be disappointed. The pictures on the website do not depict the reality of the home, and the lack of cleanliness. Upon entry into the cabin, we were immediately disappointed. The furniture was old, shabby with holes and dirty looking, the dining room table was wobbly and seemed ready to fall apart, there was paint chipped off the dining room walls and the surfaces and floors were dusty. The sofas were old, outdated, and made of cloth, which is not a good idea for a rental cabin since it can't be cleaned well. They had crumbs, stains, and what looked like dog hair on them. As a result, we had to place towels on them so that we could feel somewhat comfortable sitting on them. There was a layer of dust on the coffee table, dining table, bedroom nightstands, all the baseboards and moldings and other surfaces. There were mouse droppings on one of the windowsills in my son's bedroom, and one bathroom appeared to have some black mold issues. Some of the towels had yellow stains on them, and the bathrooms were only lightly cleaned. Dishes in the cabinets still had food particles on them and none of the glasses or silverware looked like they had been washed properly, if at all. The exterior had issues as well. The patio table looked like it had been wiped down with a dirty rag with the streaks left for all to see. The BBQ was filthy and belonged in the trash rather than on the patio. The hot tub had bugs in it, and not surprisingly, no skimmer was provided. Considering we are in the middle of a pandemic, we expected the cleaning protocols to be at a heightened level, however that was evidently not the case. My family and I immediately went out to purchase cleaning supplies so that we could stay there without feeling uncomfortable. In the end, I had to argue with the property manager as to why this was a problem. After multiple calls to them, I had to negotiate a partial refund. Never again!
