No beds in the bedroom; found maraguania carts in the couch my teenager slept on

No bed in throw bedroom so not really a bedroom Found door carts in the couch my daughter slept on Only 1 of the 3 TVs worked … Abs owner didn’t seem to care that we wanted the other 2 TVs fixed Decorated nicely Pretty neighborhood and location

A few suggestions

There were a few things that could’ve been added for example, a book with information about the house farm such as hotels places to see where to go information about Dom someone coming in and using our washing machine when we didn’t know it that our property was shared. Hi, I can think of a few more things a few more kitchen supplies would be helpful but we managed OK. There were just two of us. I’ll send along a few more ideas when I think of them. Thank you.

Disappointed

John is charming but communicating with him is painful. We got instructions for the front door a few hours before arrival. When we got to the house, there was a for sale sign. The house has 3 bedrooms. The primary has a nice bed. The other two have futons. The TV's didn't work and the BBQ was filthy and didn't work as well. John came over to help with the TV and got 1 working. It was two weeks before we got another BBQ. We knew we would share the back yard but did not know that we also had to share the washing machine and dryer. We had no checking out instructions and I asked for them three times. The primary bed had only the linens that were on the bed when we arrived. I had to wash the linens and then redress the bed. Although the house sleeps six, we had silverware and dishes and glasses for three. No bowls for mixing, no big salad bowl, no sharp knives. Overall, we can say that while John is personable, he should not be renting out homes through VRBO until he knows what should be available to the renters.

Stressful in w palm beach

I have never given a bad review until now. I am the broker/owner of a residential real estate and property management company and have rented many many vrbos. I only rent very highly rated properties which this was when i rented. While my expectations are high I am also very low maintenance and understanding. After emailing, calling and texting the owner starting the day before check in, I received no responses, I finally got check in instructions literally 2 minutes before check in. You can imagine the stress of thinking you had no place to stay. Owner acted as if there was no big deal. After arriving to find a for sale sign in the front yard upon checking in, we were unpleasantly surprised to find very different inferior furnishings. One of the reasons I rented this property was the outdoor area. Those furnishings were switched out as well. There were dead flowers/plants throughout the property I guess for decoration?? There were no lamps and only lights in bedrooms were overhead flickering lights. The towels provided in the bathrooms were comparable to my garage/shop towels. Last but not least there were tiny ants in the bathrooms and kitchen. This owner/property manager didn't seem to really care about renting or selling this house which is a shame because it could be a great house in a great location. Vacations should not start out the way this one did.

Nice neighborhood, disappointing owner.

I'm not sure how Chalhoub gets a super host rating? There was no mention that the backyard is shared with the unit to the rear. More alarming is that those rear tenants have key access to the laundry room which is attached to this villa, with only a slotted louver door in between. 2 of the 3 bedrooms the mattresses are on the floor. 2 of the 3 bedrooms the TVs did not work and one TV electrical cord did not even reach the outlet. Even though the owner prior to our arrival, promised the TV issues were fixed. Which is now more disturbing after now reading a January review of the same issues. The backyard area there is no fire pit and the bench seat was broken. When told of these issues the owner did bring extra chairs for the backyard, batteries and new remote controls for the TV. There were other minor issues I would not have expected from a villa in this neighborhood and price range. Most important is that when the refrigerator door is opened wide, the handle strikes the stove gas knob and turns the gas on. John Chalhoub did not communicate well through the VRBO app. We had to text him for the key location and the wifi code. The villa is in a great location, 2 blocks from the golf course, 6 blocks from downtown, in a safe walkable upscale neighborhood. This house is for sale. The owner offered us discounts for several showings and for the Inconvenience of the other issues. I only can assume he got an offer on the house as the discount he offered us was minimal.
